“My fur baby requires a great deal of attention due to some health challenges. This makes me very careful about who cares for him. I am so Blessed to have Liza taking care of my lil guy. I would highly recommend her to people that need puppy ? care”

“Stephanie took great care of my beagle for three days while I had to travel out of state. He came home to me exhausted and happy after full days of playing and walks. Thanks Stephanie!”

“Kaela was wonderful. Prompt and clear communications, accommodated a last minute request, friendly and knowledgeable about dogs, updates, and pictures throughout the stay, went above and beyond, and even fed Luna when I was running late.”

“Zuly and her family took wonderful care of my poodle, Babette. She is a great communicator, and understands the needs of dogs from years of experience. Her home was neat, immaculate, and felt very welcoming. I look forward to using her services in the future!”

“Andrea was just wonderful. It was my first time leaving them with a sitter. I knew I could trust her with my babies right off the bat. She’s sweet and caring and communicated with me the whole time because I was anxious being away from them. It’s easy to see that she is a dog person to the core. Highly recommend!”

“She's a truly a nurturing dog person who took care of my dog as her own. I really loved the facilities and set up for my dog. A very open home with a fenced in backyard. After the second day my dog ran to Kylie on her own during drop off. She was a great host and i would repeat dropping my dog, Nancy off again. Thanks again for the professionalism and for my dog's care.”

“Gracie had a great day with Mariana and her crew. Mariana welcomed her with open arms. Having the fenced back yard so accessible is perfect for letting dogs in and out as needed, but the house itself is comfy and warm -- just right for these snowy, cold winter days. I highly recommend Mariana as a loving dog care giver.”

“Howard and his family are the best! Having moved to New Haven from NYC, I was worried that my dog would have a tough time forming a new routine. But Howard has made the adjustment painless. He treats my dog like family! And he is extremely responsive, flexible, and accommodating. I feel lucky to have found him.”

“Steven and Claudia are awesome dog people. They kept in touch with pictures and a video and Mello was very happy when I picked him up. Would definitely book again!!”

About: I have taken care of dog for over five years since I was little! as an animal lover, I have always felt a strong connection with our furry little friends. Over the years, I have taken care of several dogs and cats for family and friends. From providing them with a lovely home to ensuring they receive the best possible care, I believe all pets deserve to be treated with love, respect, and compassion. I am excited and committed to taking care of your pets! I am currently a student, so I’ll have plenty of times dedicated to taking care of the pets. I only take one animal at a time, so I make sure that each animal gets my full attention. I live in an apartment, but I take dogs out for walks quite often throughout the day to make sure they’re not holding back. if I believe in giving the most loving and comfortable environment for our pets. So I strive to keep my household very clean and pay close attention to the hygiene of the animals
About: I follow all rules to better care for your dogs/children! I can baby them if allowed to, so they wont feel alone away from home! I am free all the time and I work online! I can take them out at their scheduled times, you let me know their needs. I have a friendly dog (that’s spayed) who’s pretty playful but can also be calm when she needs to. I have a pretty large space for them to roam and I can always take walks at parks nearby! You let me know any dietary restrictions you have for your child or any triggers, that way I can know in advance on how to be a better caregiver to your pet!
“Max had a great first day of daycare with Cheyanne and her pups. Leading up to this stay, Cheyanne was very friendly, quick to respond, answered all my questions, and seemed very knowledgeable. She sent some cute photos, and Max came home happy and relaxed. We will definitely book again!”

About: I was very lucky to be born into a dog-loving family and was raised learning how to care for furry friends as a part of the family. Since then, I have continued to dog sit for friends and family alike, including elderly dogs that are deaf and blind. My other job is to support people through crisis situations, which allows me to respond effectively and responsibly in case something unexpected arises. I am very organized and punctual and have lots of practice in coordination. I wish I could have a dog of my own, but due to frequent traveling, it’s sadly not the right time for me. I love having the opportunity through Rover. Any and all instructions you leave for me will be followed with the utmost care to keep your little buddy happy! First and foremost, I like to introduce myself to the pet to see if they feel comfortable with me. Once I am able to establish trust with an introduction to your pet, I will make sure that I understand from the owner what they expect to keep the pet safe and happy. The biggest thing is to approach each pet with patience and care, and focus on ensuring the pet feels safe and happy and the owners are able to have peace of mind and strong communication while they are gone.
About: I've been a dog owner for the last 20 years. All my dogs have been rescues, several have been shy dogs that needed extra TLC. I have a special talent connecting with shy dogs and helping them come out of their shell. I also love working with extroverted dogs who love to play and interact. I have a full-time mostly WFH job. I'm available for after-hour drop ins and walks, weekend visits, overnights, and boarding. I know how hard it can be to find petcare (especially during off hours) and I'd like to help with that. My home is safe and secure with a small fenced in backyard away from the road. I have two dogs to keep your pets company. I can help with crating your dog as well. Our home is quiet, serene, and private.
About: I'm a Stanford Alum who used to take care of pets in the Palo Alto area. Now working at Yale Med and trying to see some pet babies on the side! I've taken care of small to medium dogs (Shitzu's to Goldens), calm dogs to hyper dogs (love dancing around with a Husky!), shaved cats to fluffy cats, and sweet cats to feisty cats. Love them all so much! Been taking care of family dogs for years and have 2 years of formal cat care experience outside of the family. I’ll be able to devote mornings, evenings, and weekends to pet care 😻 I have a full time job but most days of the week it is remote and flexible! I live in an apartment that can host small to medium dogs and cats. In client's home's, I'll carefully follow care instructions from owners on how to maintain safety within the apartment.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - New Haven
Anthony put my mind at ease. This was our first time using his services & we are very happy with how Rambo was when we picked him up. This was a preparation for his 10-day boarding and we are very pleased that we did this. He updated us with photos and videos☺️

We had a last minute need for day care for our Bassett hound puppy and Stephanie was able to help us out. She communicated clearly and provided us with many photos and good feedback. Our pup had a great experience and was tired out when she came home. Stephanie gave her excellent care.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
