“Zuleima did a great job of taking care of my dog for a weekend trip. She sent me lots of photos and her children were extremely kind to my dog which I appreciate. She also responded super fast to my request, so I highly recommend!”
“Anthony was excellent ! They took such good care of my pet. Received constant updates. It was like my dog went on a vacation and had so much fun. I will definitely recommend leaving your fur baby on their very capable and caring hands”

About: I have had multiple dogs in my lifetime from puppyhood to their senior years, so I am familiar with care needed at every stage, including medication, diapers, or urinary wraps. Aside from my own pets, I have boarded and pet-sat many dogs with varying personalities, and I pride myself on being able to meet each one where they’re at. I work a flexible job that offers work-from-home hours, so I can shift my schedule to give your dog the care and attention it deserves! I have a backyard that is about 85% fenced, and live near several parks and hiking trails if your dog prefers an active lifestyle. I can also accommodate low-energy dogs who prefer to lay inside all day! I have a medium-sized crate in my home, but don’t mind dogs who prefer to stay out or join me on the furniture. I have my own dog, but he will not be with me for the month of July, so your dog can enjoy plenty of toys while being the center of attention :)
“Monique is amazing! She's organized, responsive, sent daily updates during boarding, and most importantly took loving care of my pups, one of whom is anxious and needs humans to be patient and gentle with her. This was the most stress-free boarding I've ever experienced and allowed me to truly enjoy my travel and not worry knowing my dogs were with someone who truly cares. They came home happy, exhausted from all the play, and in good spirits and health!”

“My dog was very well treated and cared for by Elizabeth and her family. She kept me up to date every day with photos and his activities. Excellent care by lovely people!”

“Seriously the nicest family you can leave your pup with! This was my first time using Rover and once I met Nadine and her family I had no worries or hesitations! She accommodated my schedule and sent me tons of updates about my pup! I know he had a great stay and got tons of attention and exercise! Thank you guys! :)”

“My dog seemed to have a great time during his stay. Siqing had a couple other dogs that day which was exactly what I was looking for, and she sent plenty of pictures if them playing. When coordinating drop off and pickup, communication was easy and prompt.”

“Catie and her husband were able to take care of my dog when travel plans changed last minute. I was very nervous with a new sitter but they took great care of Barkley. They sent videos and pictures thru out his stay and were very responsive when I reached out to check on how he was doing. I would recommend them and use again!”

“This was Luna's first time being away from us and I was so afraid with how she might be with someone new and away from her family. To my surprise she did fantastic with Lauren and had alot of fun! I received many pictures of Luna throughout her time away and little updates. She socialized with other pups, smelled amazing since she was bathed before she came home, and I can tell she was comfortable because when I got there she wiggled her little rump and was so excited to see me but she also would go back to Lauren to say goodbye. It was the sweetest thing. Thank you again, Luna will definitely be back!”

“I want to Thank Ski for taking a great care of our fur baby. He stayed in communication with us he sent pictures every day of our baby. He did a wonderful job and I thank him so much.”

About: I’ve taken care of several dogs throughout my whole life. My family has had 7 dogs in total that I grew up taking care of. Along with that, I have done dog sitting before for neighbors and friends. I love dogs and enjoy taking care of them!! My girlfriend is also an experienced dog sitter, growing up around multiple dogs as well. She is at my house most of the time and will help take care of the dogs! I am currently in summer workouts for football. I am gone every morning 6-1030, but my girlfriend stays over most nights. Along with her, my roommate is home most of the time. We are all able to provide care for the dogs! My backyards is fenced and has plenty of grass for dogs to get playtime/use the bathroom . Also, my house has a good amount of space inside.
“A+ sitter. She was able to watch Buddy for a week on short notice. Helped walk me through my first time on the application and Bud even made a friend. Don’t hesitate to trust her with your pet!”

“Nicole was amazing! They took such good care of our dog and he’s not super easy ? our vet described him as “scared of life”, while staying with Nicole though he was safe and happy! We are so glad we picked her- cannot recommend her enough for watching your fur babies!”

“Tara was great with my pup over the 4th of July weekend. She was so accommodating with my pup’s fear of loud noises and did her best to keep her calm. She sent lots of photos and updates which I appreciated! She was awesome!”

“Kiayla is an absolute joy to meet with a positive caring attitude towards the care and safety of our fur baby. She was attentive to his needs in this new experience and environment, as well as showing him who’s the boss to continue consistent care and expectations for a pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend her and book Ms. Kiayla again.”

“This was our first time having someone outside our immediate family to watch over our dog Quincy. So we weren’t sure how he would do with someone he didn’t know, especially with another dog in the house. But I knew from the first time I met up with Nafiye to meet Quincy, that everything was going to be ok. He was great with Quincy and he felt very comfortable and responded well with her. He got a long very well with her very trained dog and he had a very nice stay with her while we were out of town. We liked that it was very important to her that she spent a little bit of time with him before committing to watch g him for us. She sent pictures and videos of his stay and playing with them. We will definitely be using her in the future, if she is available.”

About: I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember. For the past 4 years I've helped my stepmom with her pet-sitting business, caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I've also watched, walked, and cared for pets for friends, family members, and neighbors. Being around animals never feels like work to me. I love getting outside for walks, playing with energetic dogs, and giving extra attention to dogs that might be missing their owners. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I do my best to make every dog feel comfortable, safe, and happy while you're away. Pet care fits easily into my routine because I love spending time with animals. Between working at home and my other responsibilities, I make sure I have plenty of time set aside to give pets the attention they deserve. Whether it's a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight care, I'm happy to work with your pet's normal routine and make sure they stay comfortable and cared for. I know every pet is different, so I always take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special needs they may have. I follow owners' instructions carefully and make sure pets always have fresh water, exercise, attention, and a safe environment. I'll also keep you updated while you're away with photos and messages because I know how much that means to their families.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New Haven
Kiayla did an incredible job taking care of our cat Lychee during the two weeks we were traveling abroad. Lychee had a stress related accident in the car just as we dropping him off at her place but Kiayla took it in stride and let us use her bathroom to give him a bath immediately. She was patient with him when he had another accident the next day and responsive over messages as we were trying to figure out what to do. Thankfully that was the worst of it and Lychee settled right in after that and made himself right at home! When I went to pick him up two weeks later he looked so happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. Very grateful to Kiayla for the love and care she has given our kitty - would highly recommend her to anyone else looking to board their pets!!

Amber was the best cat sitter and my family was pleasantly surprised at tge special care and love Amber gave our 3 months old kittens. Amber cared for them as if they were her own. She had excellent cat knowledge and experience. She sent us pictures everyday and cute remarks that made us laugh. We were comfortable and relaxed knowing our kittens were in great hands. We would highly recommend Amber to sit for any cat owner.

Anthony and his fiance Monique took such excellent care of our boy! He isnt without his challenges and both Anthony and Monique approached them all with love and patience, sending me pictures and updates every single day! Absolutely could not be happier to have found them and will not hesitate again to use them next time we go away!

First time Rover user here! Stephanie took great care of our pups and their owners! She accommodated us on short notice, took excellent care listening to and adhering to their needs, and sent lots of pictures and updates so we stayed connected. The dogs loved their walks, interacting with her pups, and we're extremely well adjusted coming home. I would highly recommend her for your pets' next stay, and expect to be a very satisfied repeat customer in the future!

Ashley was very reliable, excellent care giver. She walked my dog every day. I was so lucky to have Ashley available to take care of Charlie my little dog. Charlie was so excited to see Ashley’s beautiful and friendly dog , I really loved petting her dog, he was so cute and so smart. I definitely rebook with Ashley whenever I am back in New Haven. Location was great too! Near Yale.
Katherine took wonderful care of our dog, Petunia, during her stay over a recent, long weekend. She sent frequent messages and photos as to Petunia's activities which gave us great confidence that Petunia was happy and comfortable staying with Katherine. We will definitely book a stay with Katherine in the future when Petunia needs boarding.

Shelby was a wonderful sitter. she was readily available and responsive and made my cat, Sage, feel right at home, so much so that Sage didn't want to leave! Shelby also sent plenty of pictures and videos so I could see Sage during my time away. I would highly recommend Shelby for your pet's home away from home.

Sai did an amazing job with Kali! It was her first time away from home, and she was given all the love she needed and wanted to be comfortable. Sai sent pictures and updates throughout her stay, giving us the reassurance we needed. We look forward to booking with her again!

Mari was amazing with my girl Mabel. I boarded with her for a week and she was consistent with updates and keeping up with my dogs high energy levels. Her dog Duke was a great playmate for her and she took her to the dog park for daily playtime. Would absolutely recommend her services and rebook for my next trip away. She’s the best!

Bianka took great care of our dog Scooby, who presents with many challenges, including anxiety and blindness. She spent a lot of time with Scooby, such as by walking, petting, and playing with him. She even kept him company and played calming music for him when he woke up in the middle of the night. Bianka also sent frequent updates that included pictures. We are so grateful for Bianka!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
