“Mikayla and Justine were both amazing with our dog Lew! He can be a little nervous, and they went out of their way to keep him comfortable and happy while we were away. We also got in depth notes about his day along with pictures everyday, which was so helpful! We will definitely use them again -- great sitters!”

“This was my first experience with leaving my Liv with Noemi and David. They were fantastic and my pup is tired out. Thank you so much for taking care of her 💜”

“Stephanie too great care of my dog Ember over the holiday weekend! I hadn’t left her with someone she didn’t know before, but she seemed very at-home with Stephanie! Stephanie also helped keep my mind at ease with plenty of pictures and updates on how each day was going!”

“Yahaira did a wonderful job with my dog Finn. I have used big boarding facilities in the past and felt like they were not doing the little things to make Finn happy. In the pictures Yahaira sent you can tell Finn was given a lot of attenrion and was super happy!!”

“After trying 4 dog sitters, we finally found Lauren and couldn’t be happier. She takes incredibly good care of pups, she’s reliable and flexible with scheduling. Even when we have last minute bookings, she’s been available every time. He’s the only sitter that our pup looks forward to seeing. And he comes back clean, with freshly cut nails. If you need a sitter you can rely on and trust to treat your baby well, call Lauren.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Karen! Before confirming the booking, she invited us for a meet and greet at her place, which has a spacious and comfortable room just for boarding dogs. One of the main reasons we chose her is that she doesn’t board dogs from different families at the same time, and her own dogs don’t interact with guests—something that really mattered to us since our 8-month-old German Shepherd was boarding for the very first time. Karen took careful notes, asked lots of thoughtful questions, and made sure to follow our dog’s usual routine. During our two-day trip, she sent frequent photo updates that gave us so much peace of mind. Our puppy was clearly comfortable and relaxed around her. We’ll definitely book with Karen again in the future!”

“Raeven was absolutely fantastic to our high energy 11 month old rottie puppy. She was very communicative and sent lots of photos and videos. I was worried about him being a handful, but everything went well and Raeven was unphased by his size and energy.”

“Saori took fantastic care of our large doodle Toby for two weeks while we were traveling. We received daily updates with pictures and videos, which was really great. Toby had so much fun and will be going back next time we travel. I highly recommend Saori to anyone who needs a skilled and kind person to care of their pet.”

“Josh is fantastic. Super communicative and just a great guy. St Bernard had a lovely time at his place. It’s very close to Wesleyan University so it’s perfect for anyone visiting for any reason”

“She was so communicative, she send pictures ! She follows the schedule which I love , she teach them tricks. Her cats are amazing with dogs. Thank you for looking after Milo.”

“We’ve used Ariel multiple times now and Max is always happy when we pick him up. She sends multiple photos while we’re away to see him having a blast with the other pups. Max loves when he stays with Ariel and her family! I would 100% recommend Ariel for anyone looking for a trustworthy person to watch your dog while you’re away!”
“Amazing Service. Karina was very caring and responsive. She kept us informed with text message with pictures of how the day was progressing with our dog. She was even able to get him to eat regularly — which has been a problem at times. We highly recommend Karina as a Dog sitter and only which she were available to usnear our home in Florida”

“Andrea was super nice and managed to accomodate our last-minute Christmas booking. She kept us updated with lots of photos and videos, and our dogs looked quite happy and relaxed. Her house has a fenced-in area that they loved to play in. Most impressive of all, though, was that Andrea let the dogs into her bedroom (they are used to sleeping next to us), on Christmas no less. Our dogs seemed in great shape when we picked them up after their 3 day stay. She seems to be a very caring and careful dog sitter. We would have no hesitation in our leaving our dogs with her again. Thanks!”
“Christine was wonderful with my fifteen-year-old dog Ginger who needs a person with lots of patience and tons of attention. Christine provided that and I am so grateful. I was so worried at first about leaving her behind, but Christine made me feel at ease with her calm demeanor and was always sending me pictures of her every day. I could see she was comfortable with Christine and her Pug Jax who is so adorable! I will definitely be using her amazing services again and I highly recommend using Christine. Thank you so much Christine and Jax!! ?❤️”

“Katie is very patient with my pup and understands her attachment to me. It takes Bella a while to settle and enjoy her self and Katie is perfect for this. She always ensured me its not a problem and she takes care of it. This is her 2nd time keeping Bella, thus time Katie was more forthcoming with updates then the first time, which I loved. But in her defense she also had a injured arm in a high anxiety pup. So I really understood it, did not let it bother me, because I know where her focus was.And I appreciated that, but when I did reach out to her, she immediately sent me a response back and updates. Bella loves walks and she was great at walking her a few times a day. I will be going away soon and hope Katie is available to keep her. Thank you Katie.”

“Gwynne did such an amazing job taking care of our almost two year old yellow lab, Riley. She checked-in with us regularly to provide updates about how Riley was doing and would send pictures. Riley got in lots of play time and walks with Flash, too, which I know that she loved. I highly recommend Gwynne. We plan on using her again soon!”

“Kathryn and Jeremy were great, can't recommend them enough. They were extremely communicative both before Bella's stay and during, updating us with pictures etc throughout the day. The couple are very well versed in dog behavior/needs and asked all the right questions to make us feel confident Bella was going to be well cared for and safe. When we picked Bella up she was very comfortable in their home and was resting with Kathryn and Jeremy. If you are looking for trustworthy couple to watch your pup with love and attention, this is it!”

“Our dog Rocky loves staying with Kevin and Brian! He comes home tired and we never have to worry that he is safe and happy! He gets lots of love and we can relax that he is in good hands. We have used them many times and will continue to!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
