“This was my first time leaving my dog with anyone. From the beginning, Stephanie was responsive and kind. She was very accommodating to my pet’s needs and made me feel comfortable. Her place was very cozy and pet-friendly. Throughout the stay, Stephanie gave updates and I loved how often she took Plum for walks. I have definitely found my dog-sitter!”

“We had a great experience with Luci’s daycare service. From the start, communication was easy and reassuring. She shared photos and videos throughout the day, which made us feel completely at ease. Dante looked very comfortable and happy, almost like he was at home. It’s not always easy to find someone you can fully trust with your dog, but this was definitely one of those cases. We’re really glad we found her and will absolutely book again when needed. Highly recommended.”

“Steven and Claudia were very professional and took care of my dog as if he were their own. Not only this, but they accepted my last-minute booking which made everything immensely easier for me. Would highly recommend.”

“Ashley was very reliable, excellent care giver. She walked my dog every day. I was so lucky to have Ashley available to take care of Charlie my little dog. Charlie was so excited to see Ashley’s beautiful and friendly dog , I really loved petting her dog, he was so cute and so smart. I definitely rebook with Ashley whenever I am back in New Haven. Location was great too! Near Yale.”
“My dog loves staying with Anthony. He uses his career knowledge to carefully screen and care for all the dogs under his care. If you’re looking for a top-notch sitter, look no further!”

“Nicole was amazing! They took such good care of our dog and he’s not super easy ? our vet described him as “scared of life”, while staying with Nicole though he was safe and happy! We are so glad we picked her- cannot recommend her enough for watching your fur babies!”

“Catie and her husband were able to take care of my dog when travel plans changed last minute. I was very nervous with a new sitter but they took great care of Barkley. They sent videos and pictures thru out his stay and were very responsive when I reached out to check on how he was doing. I would recommend them and use again!”

About: I have spent 10 years of my life taking care of my own animals and families pet. On top of schooling to provide the best care possible. Currently part time, my availability is Sunday, Monday and Thursday. Hours can be interchangeable; never be afraid to ask :). Completely free those days to be attentive to your pets. I’ve had dogs all my life. I know how to play with animals for maximum exercise, can follow dietary instructions and have a deep rooted love for all species. Dogs are the babies in my home and receive the utmost care and love. Never worry about other dogs in the home or mistreatment from others.
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover and experienced dog owner who understands how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. I currently have two friendly, well-socialized dogs of my own, Rosie (8) and Lily (6). I work a professional full-time job with a hybrid schedule so I’m only in the office three days per week. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles on the couch, or simply a calm environment, I’ll do my best to maintain their normal routine and help them feel comfortable while you’re away. I know leaving your pet can be stressful, so I provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can feel confident that your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for. For the safety and comfort of all pets, I prefer to schedule a meet-and-greet before boarding whenever possible. My goal is to create a positive and comfortable experience for both you and your dog. Feel free to reach out with any questions! Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I have two dogs of my own, so my days naturally revolve around feeding, exercise, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention. I work a hybrid schedule and am always home evenings and weekends, allowing me to provide consistent care, supervision, and companionship for visiting pets. I enjoy spending time with dogs and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I care for every pet as if they were my own by following their normal routine as closely as possible. I provide regular feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, exercise, and plenty of affection. In my home, pets receive a safe, comfortable environment with close supervision. I also pay attention to each pet’s individual needs and keep owners updated with photos and messages throughout their stay.

“Tori was very trustworthy and gave our dog great care and attention. There was never a worry. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog with her. She was responsive and sent lots of pictures and videos during our dogs stay with her. I would highly recommend her and will definitely use her service again.”

“Jeanette was awesome! She watched my 5 month old puppy on a last minute booking for a holiday weekend. She even made time to do a quick meet to make sure her dog and mine got along. She is very quick to respond, checked in a couple times a day. My dog was constantly on walks or on some adventure with her she shared plenty of photos. I knew he was in good hands and was very comfortable leaving him with her. I recommend booking with her for walks, overnights, even a few hours during the day she is a very sweet woman who truly loves dogs.”

“Elizabeth went above and beyond for our 2 babies!! She communicated with texts and pictures their entire stay and even gave them treat bags, toys, and a detailed report at their pick up! It was my first time leaving my fur babies with anyone other than family and I won’t ever hesitate to leave them with Elizabeth again! She was simply the best!!”
“Mark and his family took great care of our dog, Sophie, last weekend. I had never left her with anyone besides family before so I was nervous but Mark put me at ease. Drop off and pick up were easy - Mark was very flexible and accommodating. He sent texts and pics to update us throughout the weekend. A great first Rover experience - highly recommend!”

“Monique was amazing! I was out of state for a surgery and couldn’t bring along my dog — Monique made it incredibly easy. She was perfect on communication and accommodated my circumstances. Korra was clearly well taken care of with a beautiful home and yard (and some other friends!). She sent so many adorable updates on my pup, which made recovery so much better! Can’t thank her enough ?”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
