“I was caught in a bind as I was moving and my current place had to cancel due to the weather. This is my first time using Rover and I needed to find someone to watch my pup. River is a bit reserved and can be very nervous. Pam is a life saver. She sent pictures throughout her visit and I was completely at ease during a very stressful move. I will definitely recommend Pam and will reach out to her again whenever I need a sitter for my girl. Thanks a million. You are the best!!!”

“Brianna was the best! Super communicative and thoughtful, and our dog had the absolute best time. Would highly recommend her and definitely leave our dog with her again!”

“Foxy loved staying with Mari! She came back so happy. Mari sent pictures throughout the stay and was always responsive, both during the booking process and during the stay. Foxy can’t wait to stay with Mari again!”

“I am so grateful to have found Jay! I have a senior dog that doesn’t see or hear well and a really shy dog. I am confident that they are well cared for with Jay. ❤️”
“Catherine was wonderful with Josie, she attended to every one of her needs and treated her like the true diva that she is! She gave her her drops, her eye drops three times a day on schedule, sent me pictures and videos. I was hoping Josie would a still wanna come home with me and not stay with Catherine.!!!Sue w.”

“Tatyana, in a word...FABULOUS..!! Easy to reach...Flexible...Understand the needs of me and my dog. When I cam to. retrieve my dog...He didn't want to leave. Thank you, Tatyana Rich”

“Davon was amazing. I outreached very impromptu and he was available for a meet and greet with Arya. ( which went well. We reviewed the basics of her care and he made sure to get a full understanding of what is needed to make Aryas stay as comfortable as possible) drop off was nice. He has spacious living accommodations. What stood out is his willingness to work with Arya being that she is a Bully. There are a many false conceptions about this breed. With his family background working with bully’s and pitbull, and his love for animals in general, I had no concerns that Arya was in good care. During her overnight visit, he provided checks up and sent pictures for reassurance. He also introduced Arya to family and friends ( which I love ) being that she is not around other dogs or people, helping her socialize. Picking Arya up was easy. All items returned and she was happy ! I previously boarded her , and when picking her up she was distant, had scratches and limped !!! All in all, 5 stars for Devon. I recommend and will use him again. 🐾💕”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the peace of mind that came with leaving my dog in her hands. She was very flexible with timing. Quick to respond. And took care of my dog exactly as I needed. I will 100%. Board my good boy with her. Whenever possible in the future.”

“I couldn't be happier with the care Christina and her family provided for my dog during Thanksgiving week! They kept me updated with pictures and videos, which reassured me he was in great hands. I truly appreciated that they allowed him to sleep in their bedroom and were so understanding of his initial sadness and nervousness. Thanks to their love and attention, he returned home happy and relaxed—quite a difference from his previous experiences. I will definitely be booking with Christina again in the future!”

“Thank you, Madalys! Not familiar to the area, a last minute need to take care of my two Havanese puppies. You were prompt and communication was clear. Thank you, again! Highly recommend.”

“Siqing is a great sitter, she seems to genuinely care about our dog Molly as if she was her own, and she is incredibly communicative (pics and general updates during the stay), plus Molly came back with a festive bandana and a great desire to nap after all the fun she had with Siqing's others pets!”

“If there was a 5+ I would leave it as a review!! Anne-Marie treated Gracie as if she washer own. I was nervous to leave her at first, but Anne-Marie sent us photos of Gracie every day. She also made sure that Gracie got her medicine every day. She is awesome and we will definitely be using her again!”

“Andrea was super nice and managed to accomodate our last-minute Christmas booking. She kept us updated with lots of photos and videos, and our dogs looked quite happy and relaxed. Her house has a fenced-in area that they loved to play in. Most impressive of all, though, was that Andrea let the dogs into her bedroom (they are used to sleeping next to us), on Christmas no less. Our dogs seemed in great shape when we picked them up after their 3 day stay. She seems to be a very caring and careful dog sitter. We would have no hesitation in our leaving our dogs with her again. Thanks!”
“Karina was awesome!! Our usual dog sitter fell through just a day before a night away, and Karina was quick to respond, and flexible even with the last minute booking. She sent a bunch of videos which were much appreciated, and showed Ruth was having a great time with her dogs and other visitors. You could tell Karina really knew what she was doing and good at introducing new dogs into the mix. Would definitely recommend!”

“Our Bérneise Mountain dog-Otto had a wonderful visit with Jen & her family. It was wonderful to go away knowing he's happy and so welled cared for. Thanks again Jen!”

“Catie and her husband were able to take care of my dog when travel plans changed last minute. I was very nervous with a new sitter but they took great care of Barkley. They sent videos and pictures thru out his stay and were very responsive when I reached out to check on how he was doing. I would recommend them and use again!”

“Our dogs had a wonderful stay with Jessica and Ian. They were well cared for and we will definitely use them in the future when we have to board our dogs.”

Noemi and David are so nice to work with, and we felt at ease while our 7 year old cavapoo was in their care. They have a lovely home with a fenced-in yard, and were attentive to Toby and his needs. They were great at communicating and sending photos and videos. This was our second time using them and we will definitely be contacting them again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
