“Kathryn is probably the best Rover sitter we’ve had (and we’ve used some lovely sitters). Our dogs are anxious when they’re left, and Kathryn really helped them feel at ease - her fenced yard was perfect and they just seemed to trust her. I’d highly recommend booking your pet’s stay with her!”

“Emmet had a wonderful stay at Luci's! Luci took great care of him - she was very attentive and sent lots of updates. Emmet also really enjoyed playing with his new friend Cacao. Thanks Luci!”

“Kat was absolutely great! She has a large yard for champ to walk around in and a comfortable room for him to stay in. She communicates well and kept us updated our entire trip with messages and photos. Champ seemed to have a great time and was well taken care of with Kat. We definitely recommend her and hope to have Kat take care of our dog again.”

“Bianka took great care of our dog Scooby, who presents with many challenges, including anxiety and blindness. She spent a lot of time with Scooby, such as by walking, petting, and playing with him. She even kept him company and played calming music for him when he woke up in the middle of the night. Bianka also sent frequent updates that included pictures. We are so grateful for Bianka!”

“Jessica and Ian were terrific! We went away to a family wedding and I was so nervous leaving my 17 year old Bo. When interviewing them I told them about Bo being elderly with walking issues and other elderly ailments, and they assured me that they had no problem, loved elderly dogs, and would take great care of him. Well they were right!! He settled right in and looked so happy in the pics they sent. And he was fine and relaxed when we picked him up.”

“Anthony is amazing!! Jameson had a great time and we've already booked with Anthony again for a longer stay in a couple of weeks!!!! We were very nervous at first because it was our first time leaving our boy with someone, but Anthony made me feel so comfortable at our meet and greet and sent us pictures!!!”

“Andrea was super nice and managed to accomodate our last-minute Christmas booking. She kept us updated with lots of photos and videos, and our dogs looked quite happy and relaxed. Her house has a fenced-in area that they loved to play in. Most impressive of all, though, was that Andrea let the dogs into her bedroom (they are used to sleeping next to us), on Christmas no less. Our dogs seemed in great shape when we picked them up after their 3 day stay. She seems to be a very caring and careful dog sitter. We would have no hesitation in our leaving our dogs with her again. Thanks!”
“Jayme really helped us out with watching Diesel when we had to go away for a long weekend for a family wedding. I felt very comfortable knowing that Diesel was in good hands and that he had a yard to play around with. Jayme is very kind and sent several pictures of Diesel. Knowing that he was in someone’s loving home and not in a boarding facility put me at ease. I would recommend Jayme without hesitation for anyone who wants their dog to have a home away from home!”

“Mikayla and Justin were incredible! They took such great care of my GSP Goose and sent very detailed and organized updates on how he was doing and made sure to get him an ample amount of exercise everyday. He looked so happy! Also they were extremely understanding and flexible when I had to pick him up a little late due to my return flight getting delayed. Will definitely be using them again!”

“Davon was amazing. I outreached very impromptu and he was available for a meet and greet with Arya. ( which went well. We reviewed the basics of her care and he made sure to get a full understanding of what is needed to make Aryas stay as comfortable as possible) drop off was nice. He has spacious living accommodations. What stood out is his willingness to work with Arya being that she is a Bully. There are a many false conceptions about this breed. With his family background working with bully’s and pitbull, and his love for animals in general, I had no concerns that Arya was in good care. During her overnight visit, he provided checks up and sent pictures for reassurance. He also introduced Arya to family and friends ( which I love ) being that she is not around other dogs or people, helping her socialize. Picking Arya up was easy. All items returned and she was happy ! I previously boarded her , and when picking her up she was distant, had scratches and limped !!! All in all, 5 stars for Devon. I recommend and will use him again. 🐾💕”

“Pam was great. She posted a lot of pictures to let us know Luna was having fun and communicated daily. You could tell she had a lot of experience with dogs and with petting sitting/boarding. We would definitely use Pam again for the next time we go out of town.”
“Liliana & her husband were very good with Luigi. They both took the time during our Meet & Greet to ask questions and get to know him. Liliana sent pictures during his stay and he looked happy out on his afternoon walks.”

“I am so happy with the care that Christina gave my dog while I was out of town. This is the longest she has been with a sitter and I was put totally at ease by Christina’s daily updates with photos and videos. I can tell she is a true dog lover and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my Rubi! I would definitely recommend Christina and would rebook with her in the future in a heartbeat!”

“Catherine was wonderful with Josie, she attended to every one of her needs and treated her like the true diva that she is! She gave her her drops, her eye drops three times a day on schedule, sent me pictures and videos. I was hoping Josie would a still wanna come home with me and not stay with Catherine.!!!Sue w.”

“Laura and her family took great care of my 3 yo beagle mix. He’s got an autoimmune disorder with extreme food sensitivity and takes meds 3x daily. They were attentive to his needs, sent photos everyday, were super responsive and patient, and allowed me to show them how to administer the medicine. Both of us felt right at home, lol! We’ll be back thank you so much!!”

“Catie and her husband were able to take care of my dog when travel plans changed last minute. I was very nervous with a new sitter but they took great care of Barkley. They sent videos and pictures thru out his stay and were very responsive when I reached out to check on how he was doing. I would recommend them and use again!”

Elizabeth took amazing care of my dog while we were away and treated him like one of her own. She was extremely patient with my anxious dog and went the extra mile to make him feel comfortable. That level of dedication and compassion meant so much to me. It's clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
