Katharine took great care of my dog today during a very scary thunderstorm, even managing to convince her to be brave and go out at one point (which she definitely needed to do). Happy to have her!

Melanie made a great first impression for us! She extended thoughtful details, did a pre-meet / greet, and connected with my pup well! (he’s a hyper boy, and can be fearful/bark w new people). She arrives on time and puts us at ease knowing Blue will be well cared for. Grateful for weekly walks.

About: I've grew up with dogs and have been responsible for taking care of them, including feeding, walking/running & playing/taking outside, bathing, and more. I have experience giving older dogs medicine, both orally and injections (especially insulin for diabetic dogs). One of my dogs developed hip dysplasia and cancer at her older age, so I am experienced with caring for senior dogs in need of extra attention. Additionally, I often pet sit for family and friends and am trusted to ensure not only their basic needs are met (clean water, food, bathroom breaks/walks), but also they receive attention and affection while their owners are away. I'm currently home for the summer as a college student and I'm unable to get a job with a set schedule because I have surgery coming up which takes a huge chunk out of my summer but I'm available for the entirety of June and first week of July. I can basically be free whenever needed, weekdays and weekends! Since I have cats at my house, I don't care for client's pets in my own home to minimize conflict. In clients homes I follow whatever rules laid out for their animals, ensuring they're fed at the proper intervals, always have clean water (and litter boxes if used). If applicable, I like to go outside with the pets to play with them and make sure they get needed stimulation. I take them on walks (and of course clean up after them), and runs when applicable. I also like to make sure the animals get lots affection (as long as approved by their owners) to make sure they're not lonely while away!

About: I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember! Whenever friends and family need a pet sitter, I’m the first one they call! I come from a big family that includes multiple pets whether it’s 2 dogs or 2 cats I love both! It’s always my sincere goal to make sure your pets are well taken care of! I’ve pet sat for a family that to this day I still meet and hang out with their dogs! I love that bond! As always my main concern is your pets and make sure they are treated with respect and love because to me are pets are our family. I’m currently working part time at stop and shop, so I’m available currently on Monday’s and Tuesdays only.. I can do weekends but could only do so by 3:00 My work schedule is not a set schedule so if I’m not working that day, I will make sure to put that out there! And spend more play time with your pets! I have a big enough yard for my dog Benny and he loves to go outside and get treats! And a porch where we can relax and just hang out With him! I make sure every dog I take care of is on a leash but I can take it off depending on owners preference..my main priority is the safety of the pets in my care to make sure they don’t run away and are put in dangerous situations. I would also prefer to be at the owners house for now.

About: Caring for animals has been a constant part of my life. I grew up in a home that always had two dogs at a time, and before moving out, my family had raised six wonderful dogs together. From energetic pups to older companions, I’ve experienced the full range of what it means to care for dogs through different stages of life. I currently share my home with two special-needs cats, which has taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of understanding each animal’s unique personality and needs. Managing medications, monitoring behavior changes, and creating a calm, safe environment are all things I take seriously. My primary goal when caring for your pet is simple: I want them to feel happy, secure, and relaxed while you’re away. I also know how important peace of mind is for owners. I’m communicative, reliable, and happy to provide updates so you can feel confident your pet is safe and cared for. I treat every animal with gentleness, respect, and the kind of attention I would want for my own pets. I work remotely in IT for a nonprofit organization, which gives me a very flexible weekday schedule. Because I work from home, I’m able to provide consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy having some furry company during the week. Whether that means a midday walk to break up my workday or a fuzzy companion nearby while I’m at my desk. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I’m happy to structure my schedule around walks, feeding times, medication needs, or check-ins. Your pet won’t be left alone for long stretches, and you can expect consistent updates while you’re away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect your routines and instructions carefully. I follow feeding schedules, medication needs, walking routines, and house rules closely so your pet’s world feels as consistent and familiar as possible while you’re away. I also provide regular updates so you can feel confident everything is going smoothly. If your pet stays in my home, their comfort and safety are my top priorities. They will have their own dedicated space in my finished basement office that is clean, hazard-free, and separate from my cats. This allows visiting pets to relax without feeling overwhelmed, and ensures everyone stays safe and stress-free. The space includes a comfortable couch just for them, plenty of room to stretch out, and a calm environment away from household noise. I’m home during the day, so they’ll receive regular supervision, potty breaks, playtime, and attention, balanced with quiet time to rest.

About: Hi, I’m Jessica. My love for animal care started in 2018 when my family rescued our dog, Chase, from a puppy mill in Pennsylvania. Helping him feel safe, understood, and confident pushed me to learn more about dog body language, temperament, leash behavior, and how to care for each dog based on their needs. I originally entered college as a pre-veterinary Animal Science major and gained hands-on experience with animals, including sheep. I also competed in UConn’s Little I competition and placed second. Later, I shifted toward human medicine and changed my major to Allied Health Sciences on the pre-med track, but my love for animals never left. I also worked as a kennel assistant, where I cared for pets in a boarding environment and learned how important routine, safety, patience, and clear instructions are. Dogs are my strongest area, but I also have experience with cats and small animals through feeding and basic care. For pets with more specific needs, I’m very willing to learn and follow your instructions carefully. Before caring for your pet, I’d love to know their routine, temperament, walking style, triggers, favorite activities, nervous habits, and how they do around other dogs, cats, strangers, children, loud noises, or new environments. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, reactive, slow to warm up, or just very particular, I’d rather know upfront so I can care for them safely and calmly. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, feeding, playtime, companionship, and basic routine reinforcement. I’m not a professional trainer, but I’m happy to follow the commands and routines you already use. My goal is to keep your pet safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while giving you clear updates and peace of mind. My schedule is currently flexible, especially for drop-ins and walks. I’m usually available during morning, afternoon, and evening time blocks, and I do my best to plan visits in a way that gives each pet enough time, patience, and attention. I’m also happy to discuss your pet’s usual routine so I can keep things as consistent as possible while you’re away. In a client’s home, I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible. I pay attention to doors, gates, leashes, food instructions, litter areas, water bowls, and anything the owner tells me is important. I also like to know about each pet’s temperament, triggers, hiding spots, leash behavior, and comfort level with new people so I can keep the visit safe and calm. For walks, I make sure pets are securely leashed before leaving the home and avoid unnecessary interactions with unknown dogs or people unless the owner says otherwise. I’m patient with shy, nervous, excited, or slower-to-warm-up pets, and I’d rather move carefully than rush them. I’ll also send clear updates, so you know how your pet is doing.

About: I’m a mother of 3 children and two fur babies, a Labrador and a tuxedo cat. In addition to caring for my own pets over the years, I have some experience with foster care as well as veterinary assistance. My schedule is flexible as I am a stay at home parent. Daytime is best but I am also available for night check ins and weekends. My pets are very friendly but I will respect the wishes of the pet owner on how much exposure they prefer their pet to have to other people or pets, as well as any other safety concerns they may have. I live on a low traffic cul-de-sac street, ideal for walking.

About: Hi! I’m a proud cat mom to three cats of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and attentive to care for your pets. For boarding services, I host pets at my mom’s home in Shelton, Connecticut, which provides a spacious yard, a calm environment, and one small senior resident dog who mostly sleeps throughout the day. My own apartment, where my cats live, is separate and is not used for boarding.. I have hands on experience caring for both cats and dogs, including feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, waste pickup, bathing, and administering oral medications. I’ve cared for pets with different personalities, from energetic and playful to shy, anxious, and senior pets who need extra patience and attention. When caring for your pet, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I know every pet is different, and I take the time to learn their habits, preferences, and any special instructions you provide. I also love to keep you constantly updated with photos/videos. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I’m happy to provide the care they need. Safety is always my top priority. I provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to create a safe, loving, and stress free experience for both pets and their owners. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members! Building trust with both pets and their owners is important to me. I take the time to learn each pet’s habits, preferences, and any special instructions before care begins. About: Hello! My name is Danny! I've been an animal caregiver for 10 years since I was in high school and during my time in college. Currently have a full time job, but I don't mind taking care of your dog or cats on the side! Doesn't matter of they're as small as a Chihuahua or as big as a lab, I've taken care of a good fair share, and don't mind giving them attention at home, feeding them, playing with them, taking them to the public park, or even to take them out to the nearest dog park for some real exercise and social interaction (if the dogs are ok with being in cars of course). All I ask is to be notified at least a week in advance, and some basic information on the dog or cat so that I don't feed them wrong snacks or food, or over stress when playing (dogs and cats have limits. Best to know what so I don't trigger anything, y'know) I will say that since I am a full-time worker right now, my available days usually go for Thursdays or Saturdays, but if you need more time, be sure to communicate with me 3 weeks in advance so I can request those times off. If all that is ok with you, then be sure to email or text me with your information! I'd say call, but I don't trust phone calls anymore. Too many robo calls. So texting or emailing is a must! Thank you for reading! Hope to hear from you soon! -Danny At the moment, I am working full-time at my current job, and only. ntend to do this job as a part time position. I am available for full day services on Thursdays and Saturdays, but if you need more, be sure to let me know about 3 weeks in advance so I can schedule the time off. I work under the clients rule set if any. No one knows their animals better than them, and as such knowing the animals taste of food, playtime or style of play is very important to me. They're not all the same, and need to be treated accordingly so they can be as happy and safe as possible. If they require walks around the block, that's fine by me! If they enjoy playtime outside, I'm in! And if they love going to the dog park to have some real exercise and to socialize, I love trips and love to see them happy! Communication is key, and if there's any change that is necessary, I'm just a text away.

About: I am a grad student and can be very flexible with scheduling. Where I live currently does not permit animals so I have all the more love and attention to give to your furry friends. I grew up with a dog of my own for many years and now have several recurring families I pet sit for. I love running in nice weather and would be thrilled to bring your pets along. If your fur baby is a little older and doesn't have as much energy I am just as happy to lounge in the sun and spend some relaxing quality time with them. As a grad student with classes at night or online I have very flexible availability and plenty of time to play with your fur babies. I do not currently offer boarding or sitting at my residence. However, I always follow owner instructions regarding proper crating, harness use, and the pets' comfort level around people and other animals.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
