They took great care of our dog. She loved running and playing in their large fenced in yard, as evidenced by the photos and videos they sent us (which we much appreciated). Will definitely use them again.

Nicole was a fantastic caretaker for my 2 dogs! Dealing with a 6 month old Bernadoodle is not an easy task and she kept him out of trouble. She sent daily updates and made sure my older dog had his medicine every day and even gave him a bath. Both of them came back in great spirits and it is all thanks to Nicole! Would recommend 10/10 times to anyone who needs help watching their pets by someone who truly knows dogs.

This was the first time we had someone watch CoCo outside of our house and I wasn’t sure how she would be. We met with Rich a couple of days before and he was great. It was just the socialization she needed. Rich sent a bunch of pictures while she was there and it made me feel good seeing the smile on her face. We will definitely bring her back!

Ryan EXCEEDED my expectations! He has an intuitive way with dogs. He is very knowledgable about dogs & dog behavior. Ryan is the real deal-- a true animal lover & kind, decent human being. He communicated well with pics and updates during my dog's visit. During our initial meeting I felt an instant rapport he had with my dog that put me at ease. His home is VERY dog-centric! The visiting dogs are not confined and are free to mingle and find their own place to relax. There are ample dog beds, couches, human beds and floor space for lounging and sleeping. I especially appreciate that Ryan limits the number of dogs he boards at one time to a very small group, & makes sure they vibe well together beforehand. The living space Ryan and his boarders occupy is all on one level, which is great for my dog with arthritis. There is a wooded trail for walks adjoining the yard, and a guest bedroom if a dog needs some quiet alone time. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and I plan to use him again!

We left our Bernese Mountain Dog with Kara for a week and a half and had so much peace of mind knowing he was being loved as much as we love him. Kara was great and sent us many pictures and updates throughout our time away. I have to say, our doggie looked like he was smiling in all of the pictures...I was afraid he wouldn't want to come home :) I highly recommend Kara to love your pets in your absence!

Jayme really helped us out with watching Diesel when we had to go away for a long weekend for a family wedding. I felt very comfortable knowing that Diesel was in good hands and that he had a yard to play around with. Jayme is very kind and sent several pictures of Diesel. Knowing that he was in someone’s loving home and not in a boarding facility put me at ease. I would recommend Jayme without hesitation for anyone who wants their dog to have a home away from home!

Rusa and her family were so wonderful to our doggy. Our dog has had anxiety with previous boarders but she became so comfortable with Rusa and her family very quickly. Rusa also gave daily updates with photos, even cleaned our doggy’s eyes, and put booties on her paws when it snowed to protect her from the salt in streets. She was very communicative and trustworthy. Highly recommend.

Cassandra did an amazing job caring for our 4 year old English bulldog for 8 days. Our bulldog is quite stubborn with several medical conditions and she administered all medications and went above and beyond so we can travel without him for the first time in 4 years. Cassandra sent us daily updates and was very quick to respond to us and helped put our minds at ease while away.

There aren’t enough words to state my gratitude to Valeria for watching my Luna Bear. She is the perfect sitter. I had a last min work trip and she came through for me. She was so attentive to Luna and sent pics, videos, did FaceTime and my Luna looked like she didn’t want to come home lol. She is my go to if I ever have to travel or need Luna to be watched. I will be booking with her again very soon. So grateful to have found her ☺️

About: I’ve been welcoming other people’s dogs into my home for more than 20 years. It started because I knew firsthand how hard it was to leave my own dog when I traveled. I wanted there to be another option for people like me—people who couldn’t imagine leaving their dog in a kennel but also weren’t comfortable having someone stay in their home. What began as something I offered to friends became something I genuinely love doing. There’s something very special about watching a dog arrive in an unfamiliar place, helping them settle in and trust me, and eventually seeing them stretched out on the couch or curled up beside me as though they’ve always lived here. I still miss them when they go home. I board dogs from only one family at a time because I want their stay to feel less like boarding and more like their own vacation. While they’re here, they live with me as part of my household. I work from home and structure my days around them, so they have plenty of companionship and frequent access to my fully fenced yard. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, from very small dogs to dogs over 100 lbs, as well as puppies and seniors. They’re welcome on my furniture and, if they sleep with their people at home, they’re welcome to sleep with me. I don’t routinely crate dogs, but I’ll maintain a dog’s crate routine if that’s what they’re accustomed to at home. I require a Meet & Greet before accepting a new dog because I want your dog to be comfortable with me, my home and my dog—and I want you to feel completely comfortable leaving them with me. After more than 20 years, the reason I do this hasn’t changed. I want you to be able to enjoy your time away knowing your dog is enjoying theirs, too—living in a home, getting affection and companionship, and being cared for by someone who understands just how much they mean to you. While your dog is in my care, I structure my days around them. I work from home, have my groceries delivered and generally don’t schedule activities that require me to leave them alone. There’s no rigid boarding schedule here—their normal routine becomes part of mine. Whether they want to follow me around the house, nap beside me while I work, play, cuddle or head into the fenced yard, they have companionship throughout the day. While your dog is with me, I treat them as one of my own, with the same love, attention and care I give my own dog. Before a dog stays with me for the first time, I require a Meet & Greet with my dog so we can make sure they’re comfortable together before you leave your dog in my care. I board dogs from only one family at a time, so there aren’t unfamiliar boarding dogs constantly coming and going. My yard is fully fenced, and while your dog is here, I follow your instructions for feeding, medications and normal routines. I don’t crate dogs unless their family specifically requires it as part of their normal routine.

First time with the strangers, and it was a success! Our old lady was in top condition when we picked her up! Stefanie sent us updates/pictures every day, it was nice to see Ozzi being calm and comfortable. They even provided our dog with a rug for walking over the hardwood floors. Just shows how much they cared! Thank you!

Catie and her husband were able to take care of my dog when travel plans changed last minute. I was very nervous with a new sitter but they took great care of Barkley. They sent videos and pictures thru out his stay and were very responsive when I reached out to check on how he was doing. I would recommend them and use again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
