“Monique is amazing! She's organized, responsive, sent daily updates during boarding, and most importantly took loving care of my pups, one of whom is anxious and needs humans to be patient and gentle with her. This was the most stress-free boarding I've ever experienced and allowed me to truly enjoy my travel and not worry knowing my dogs were with someone who truly cares. They came home happy, exhausted from all the play, and in good spirits and health!”

“We have booked with Madison several times for our pups. Madison has been amazing with Holly and Murray every time they have stayed with her. She’s super reliable and really loves our pups, so we always know they're in good hands. Highly recommend her!”

“So nice and able to take our pups in last minute. Very easy to communicate with and flexible with pick-up/drop-off too! Our dogs always come home happy and love staying with Mark and Kate and family.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of care, patience, and genuine love I bring to every pet I work with. I don’t just “watch” animals—I build trust with them and treat them like my own. My experience as a caregiver has really shaped how attentive and compassionate I am, especially when it comes to understanding different needs and personalities. I also have fostering experience, which has taught me how to work with pets who may be anxious, shy, or adjusting to new environments. Because of that, I’m very comfortable helping animals feel safe and supported. I have experience caring for both puppies and senior pets. With puppies, I can help reinforce basic training, routines, and positive behaviors. With senior pets, I’m extra gentle, patient, and attentive to things like mobility, medications, and comfort. Overall, I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and someone you can truly trust with your pet. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. I am unavailable mondays and Wednesdays but available all day on Saturday and Sunday. I can work after 4:30pm on Tuesday Thursday and Friday :) Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for pets in your home or stopping by for visits, I do everything I can to make the experience feel calm, consistent, and stress-free. In your home, I respect your space and follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible—including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and playtime. I make sure doors are secure, hazards are avoided, and your pet is always supervised and safe. I also keep you updated with messages and photos so you feel confident while you’re away. I’m very attentive to behavior and body language, which helps me quickly notice if something feels off. My background as a caregiver has made me especially detail-oriented, patient, and calm in any situation. Cleanliness is also very important to me—I keep feeding areas, litter boxes, and living spaces clean and comfortable at all times. Overall, I aim to create a safe, loving environment where your pet feels relaxed and cared for, and where you can have complete peace of mind.
“Everything went smoothly. Our Boxer Hope had a great time at his winter camp...she loved playing with her new friends. I received a POL every day with a message. I will happily use Kyle again. You can confidently reserve a spot with him. Nice Guy!”

“Hi Rachael, I just wanted to say thank you so much for watching April. It meant the world to me to see the photos of the hikes and know she was in such good hands. It’s clear she had a wonderful time and was well loved while I was away. We’ll definitely be reaching out next time we need a sitter. Thank you so much!”

“If you're looking for someone to care for your pet with the utmost love, attention, and dedication, look no further than Christina. She truly went above and beyond during the 6 days she watched my 2-month-old puppy. From the moment I dropped him off, I knew he was in safe hands. Christina made him feel like part of her family, showering him with affection, keeping him engaged, and ensuring he felt comfortable and secure. What truly stood out was her exceptional communication throughout the entire experience. She sent me a steady stream of photos and videos, keeping me updated on his adventures, which gave me peace of mind and let me enjoy my time away without worry. It was so clear that Christina was genuinely invested in his well-being and happiness. I can’t thank Christina and her family enough for her incredible care. My puppy came back happy, healthy, and even more social, thanks to the amazing experience he had with her. If you're considering someone to look after your fur baby, Christina is hands down the best. You’ll never have to worry again – your pup will be loved like part of the family.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sandy Hook
Saori boarded our two dogs in her home and made home visits to our two cats. She took the dogs to the dog park, and they swam in her pool and other adventures. A couple of days into the boarding, both dogs developed diarrhea and our female was also vomiting. At our request, Saori took the dogs to the vet, but no major issue was found. Meanwhile, on her first home visit, she had to clean up a headless mouse corpse, gifted by our male cat, as well as the piles of vomit he’s famous for. Saori went above and beyond and we wouldn’t hesitate in using her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
