Valerie was great as always. She treats Oliver like her own. He came back happy and tired. She was able to accommodate us when we needed to pick up Oliver a day later due to car trouble. All around, a great experience.

Saori was such a great sitter for our pups (1 year old great pyrenees). She took them to the dog park in the morning for a couple of hours, helped continue our invisibile fence training, and sent us so many pics and updates throughout the weekend. I could tell how happy and comfortable our dogs were in her home and under her care. They came home so tired because they had so much fun with her and the other dogs!

I was caught in a bind as I was moving and my current place had to cancel due to the weather. This is my first time using Rover and I needed to find someone to watch my pup. River is a bit reserved and can be very nervous. Pam is a life saver. She sent pictures throughout her visit and I was completely at ease during a very stressful move. I will definitely recommend Pam and will reach out to her again whenever I need a sitter for my girl. Thanks a million. You are the best!!!

Kathryn is probably the best Rover sitter we’ve had (and we’ve used some lovely sitters). Our dogs are anxious when they’re left, and Kathryn really helped them feel at ease - her fenced yard was perfect and they just seemed to trust her. I’d highly recommend booking your pet’s stay with her!

Our Vizsla stayed with Claudia at her house for 2 days and 1 night. Claudia was so flexible to set up a meet-and-greet and was able to book our dog on a holiday weekend on short notice. She made our dog feel comfortable and loved. Claudia even sent us pictures and updates so we felt good knowing she was doing well. She has a big back yard and lives right across the street from a huge fenced-in park and took our dog there often to play. We recommend Claudia to anyone and will most likely use her again for dog-sitting!

Nicole is absolutely the best! Not only is she warm, welcoming, and very accommodating, her veterinary experience and obvious love of dogs assures us that Bluebelle is in the very best hands. Her daily updates and pictures keep us posted on the great time Blue is having with Nicole and her family in their very dog-friendly home and backyard. The best endorsement of all, though, is Blue's excitement and crazy tail-wagging when we mention Nicole's name! Five stars doesn't begin to say enough!!

Hi Rachael, I just wanted to say thank you so much for watching April. It meant the world to me to see the photos of the hikes and know she was in such good hands. It’s clear she had a wonderful time and was well loved while I was away. We’ll definitely be reaching out next time we need a sitter. Thank you so much!

We have a senior dog that requires keeping an eye on and medication twice a day and Bruce did so great taking care of pup. Leading up to the stay and throughout communication was open and clear and we appreciated all the questions Bruce had to make sure Tucker was comfortable and had what he needed during his stay. All the pictures of Tucker enjoying himself was the icing on top for us too. We look forward to bringing Tucker back again soon.

Christina is truly the best! When my trip was approaching and my original sitter canceled unexpectedly, she stepped in without hesitation and took care of my dog, Lucas, on very short notice, showing incredible understanding and flexibility. She kept me updated daily with pictures and videos, making me feel at ease even from afar. Christina treated Lucas like family, allowing him to sleep close to her and ensuring he was well cared for. Her kindness, dedication, and genuine love for animals make her absolutely amazing, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her help!

Ryan EXCEEDED my expectations! He has an intuitive way with dogs. He is very knowledgable about dogs & dog behavior. Ryan is the real deal-- a true animal lover & kind, decent human being. He communicated well with pics and updates during my dog's visit. During our initial meeting I felt an instant rapport he had with my dog that put me at ease. His home is VERY dog-centric! The visiting dogs are not confined and are free to mingle and find their own place to relax. There are ample dog beds, couches, human beds and floor space for lounging and sleeping. I especially appreciate that Ryan limits the number of dogs he boards at one time to a very small group, & makes sure they vibe well together beforehand. The living space Ryan and his boarders occupy is all on one level, which is great for my dog with arthritis. There is a wooded trail for walks adjoining the yard, and a guest bedroom if a dog needs some quiet alone time. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and I plan to use him again!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Sandy Hook

1 / 1
5.0 out of 5 stars

Saori boarded our two dogs in her home and made home visits to our two cats. She took the dogs to the dog park, and they swam in her pool and other adventures. A couple of days into the boarding, both dogs developed diarrhea and our female was also vomiting. At our request, Saori took the dogs to the vet, but no major issue was found. Meanwhile, on her first home visit, she had to clean up a headless mouse corpse, gifted by our male cat, as well as the piles of vomit he’s famous for. Saori went above and beyond and we wouldn’t hesitate in using her again.

  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
