“Contacted James kinda last minute. We met that evening and I dropped my dog off the following night. He must've had fun cause when I picked up up the following evening he was tired from all the playtime. Would definitely use again”

“Paola and her family were very sweet to my dog Winnie. They kept me updated with photos and stories the whole time. Also they never left her alone, which I know can’t always be the case, but was really great for Winnie’s anxiety. I would definitely recommend Paola to others looking for a great sitter!”

“We are repeat customers of Valerie’s and there is no one else we’d rather leave our dogs with! We just adopted a new dog and this was her first stay away from us. Valerie does an amazing job of introducing her to Shakespeare that I know I never have to worry about how they’ll all get along. They bonded immediately and I can tell Valerie loves our dogs almost as much as we do. We will continue to use Valerie over and over! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!”

About: I’ve trained multiple dogs for obedience & hunting, which I’ve dedicated several months to do for each pup. I have a 10 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever that’s very well trained and well behaved. I work from home, so I’m here all day unless I go out for something at the store or gym. If gone, I always let the dog roam free and keep the tv on for him. Naturally I play with the pup several times a day. My office is connected to the backyard, so I can throw the ball or play often. I have no issues letting the dog outside whenever they’d like.

“Erika was great! I left my dog with her for a 5 night stay and she sent pictures every day and also gave an update on how my dog was doing. I’m very glad to have found Erika and would not hesitate to book with her again 🙂”

“Mari did such an amazing job keeping our furbaby happy, cozy and active! She sent regular pictures of their outdoor activities and consistently kept me updated on how he was doing. She is awesome!”

“A friend recommended I use Rover.com and specially Alan and Luis to board my young golden retriever. From start to finish this was an excellent experience for Shilo and myself. The Rover.com app is extremely user friendly and Alan and Luis provided a warm, homey atmosphere for my pup. I had never left her overnight and it was so comforting to get daily picture updates while I was away. Shilo was clearly having the time of her life! I have already booked another stay and will use Alan and Luis and Rover.com for all my boarding needs.”

“Noel, his wife and son were very attentive to Khloe’s needs even before her arrival. It is obvious that they have passion for what they do and strive to give fur babies the best experience. Khloe thoroughly enjoyed playing in their spacious yard, running thru their fire hydrant sprinkler and lounging on their comfy couch. I received great updates with pictures included. This family offers peace of mind that your fur baby is in the best hands and surrounded by love. We will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Christina was absolutely wonderful with my Hughie! She sent me pictures and videos every day, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Hughie looked so happy, relaxed, and playful—he even made some new doggy friends during his stay! It was clear that he was treated like part of the family and really enjoyed himself. I highly recommend Christina and will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Allyson took such good care of our pups! They made themselves right at home at her house. We got many picture updates which we loved. Allyson is very organized and great at communicating. We will definitely be booking with Allyson again!”

“Hazard took amazing care of my two cats. She sent daily photos and videos and even cute report cards. You can tell the cats were well cared for because they did not appear scared or anxious, she even had a whole room full of toys and scratches for them to feel at home.”

“Our dog Skye is so happy to be dropped off at Wendy’s and exhausted when we pick her up. We love receiving updates and videos while we’re away too. Total peace of mind!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
