“Lori is great with our cats. She doesn’t just stop by to feed them; she brushes them and plays with them too. She goes out of her way to make sure their routine is maintained as much as possible while we’re away and we greatly appreciate it.”

About: I have been care for my family dog's since 5 years old, I have walked and bath dogs and perivously own cats and taken care of them before. I work part time and also currently in college, I am available after 5 pm on the weekends and I am available all summer as I am back from school. I would care up on the pets frequently and note any unusual behavior to ask the client if that should help a concern or not. I would also walk and provide the meals for pet as needed during my free time. I personally don't have a residence in my area to house pets, but in a client home I would make sure they have the required meal and walk them as requested by the client. If the service is available I'm will the perform the same duties I would in client house and make changes based on client's request
“Nicole and her girls took amazing care of Ellie. Nicole was wonderful about sharing photos and updates daily. I highly recommend her and know my dog will be thrilled to stay with her and her girls in the future.”

“Saori has been so patient and caring with our Pomsky puppy. Since we work from home, I was concerned he wasn’t socializing enough and of course he has lots of energy. Daycare with Saori will be a big help in our journey together. We got really lucky finding her right from the start.”

“Samantha did an outstanding job, took great care of bear and bear seemed to get a huge kick out of her dogs. Sent lots of pictures, really spoiled her the entire time she stayed at her home. I will be booking her again soon!”

“Adriana updated me everyday also sent pictures on how my puppy was doing. I am very pleased with how they took care of my puppy. I will be using their services again whenever I need someone to care for my dog.”

“Estelle looked after our pug Henry for a weekend, and the entire time we were able to relax and feel confident that he was happy and in good hands. Her home is beautiful and set up really nicely for the dogs, with a large clean fenced-in yard to play in, and lots of toys and beds for them to occupy themselves. Her dogs are sweet and made Henry right at home. Estelle regularly sent photos and updates to let us know how he was doing. He was always treated like part of the family and I think for him it was just a fun weekend with friends. I will absolutely be boarding Henry with Estelle again and I couldn't recommend her highly enough.”

“Our Finley loves staying with Bruce. We have used him for two multi-day stays and one daytime visit. Last week he was excited to see Bruce when we dropped him off. Carolyn does a great job of keeping us updated on how Finley is doing. I would highly recommend them.”

“Robin is always so wonderful with our dog, Adelaide. She does regular drop in visits with her so when we need boarding services, Robin is always our first choice! She shows our dog so much care, attention and love.”

“We reached out to Mark after our sitter cancelled last minute before a trip. I can’t say enough great things about Mark and his family! They treated my dog like their own and I think my Ruger is missing all the fun he had there. Very flexible and sent plenty of pictures and updates. We will DEFINITELY be using them again!”

“Jessica and Ian did an amazing job taking care of my pup during my wedding weekend! She has never napped so hard when we brought her home! Will definitely use them in the future of all of my dogs pet sitting needs!”

“I just moved to CT from AL for work and when I heard there was a snow storm and knew I had to stay at the hospital, I knew I would be in a pickle with my pup. Mariana opened her home to my sweet baby and gave her such a great experience. All the photos throughout her stay were wonderful. I 10/10 recommend Mariana to anyone considering boarding their fur baby.”

“Carolina was so accommodating and understanding. I could tell my puppy enjoyed being around her and her family. She gave his his meds as she was asked to and kept him on my same routine. Would definitely book her again.”

“I had such a great experience with Luci! She was incredibly responsive and kept me updated the entire time with plenty of pictures and messages, which really put my mind at ease. It was clear that my dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Her communication and attention to detail made the whole process stress-free. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

About: Since I was a little girl, I’ve had a huge love for animals of all kinds. I grew up surrounded by many pets including dogs, cats, birds, and more! I was always the first to volunteer whenever someone needed their furry (or feathered!) friend cared for. I take pride in being safety-focused and highly responsible. I’m quick to notice if a pet isn’t feeling their best, and I know how to take action right away. I also have experience administering medications, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is in capable and caring hands. Most importantly, I treat every pet like family, giving them the same love and attention I would give my own. I am currently a college student, which gives me a flexible schedule. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine, especially on my days off from school. I enjoy spending that free time caring for pets, and I always make sure to plan my schedule around giving them the attention and care they need. I handle all pets with patience and care. I’m always mindful of their body language and behavior, because I believe pets deserve respect just like people do. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while following any routines or special instructions provided.
“Karen was fantastic with our two dogs. We needed to board them unexpectedly, with very little notice. She responded quickly and was able to take them and was even able to extend the stay when we needed more time. She sent frequent updates and photos. Our dogs looked happy the whole time. We have one dog who has anxiety and she looked so comfortable with Karen. She definitely went above and beyond to ensure they were well taken care of. Highly recommend her and would use her again in the future.”

“Noemi and David were absolute amazing hosts. They were able to accommodate me last minute and were very communicative during Teddys stay. They have a a sweet, friendly family who truly love the pets that stay here. I recommend these hosts. 10/10”

“Salvo clearly enjoyed his time with Stephanie. She kept me plenty updated with photos throughout the time she watched him. She was very attentive to his needs beyond just eating and sleeping. She made sure he got outside, got to play and interacted well with her pets. I will definitely be trusting Stephanie next time we need someone to watch our dog.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
