“Anita and Ramesh were so kind and communicative throughout our pup’s 9 day stay. We were a little nervous as this was our first stay with them, but they set us at ease with plenty of pics and vids daily. Will be glad to work with them again in the future!”

“Fiona watched my dog Cal for the first time as a boarder in her home. Cal loves being there and it went very well , she was able to read his emotions and react proactively to keep him content which means a lot to me and my sometimes anxious dog. A true pro and I will be using her services again soon. And Cal gets excited every time we pull up to her home ! Thank you Fiona !”

“Melanie was absolutely exceptional with my pug, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. From the very beginning, her communication was clear, timely, and reassuring, which made it easy to relax while I was away. My pug is a quirky girl with plenty of personality, and it was clear she was comfortable, happy, and truly cared for the entire time. Melanie provided regular updates and photos that showed just how attentive and loving she was. If you’re looking for a reliable, kind, and genuinely thoughtful pet sitter, Melanie is the one to book. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again and would recommend her to anyone—especially fellow pug parents!”

“My dog, Atticus, age 2, had his first full day with Margaret a few days ago. He was very well taken care of including a couple of walks. He was happy to play fetch and take naps after walking. It was easy to tell by his face and composure that he had a great day...there was no visible stress when he returned home. Another dependable companion 'star' in his young life when I am not around! Many thanks, M :)”

“Our two dogs had a great stay with Sherry. She gave them wonderful care and attention, and plenty of walks. She sent a picture or two daily. We were away for 2 weeks, and it was comforting to know they were being well cared for.”

“Our cavalier Hula had an awesome stay with Mecheal! Mecheal has a great fenced in yard, and only takes one dog at a time so I know she was getting all the attention. Mecheal sent great pictures everyday, so we could check up on our pooch. I definitely recommend this Rover.”
“Careen was wonderful with our senior dog and he loved her just as much as she loved him! She gave him lots of love and attention- I could tell he was very well cared for while we were away. We got lots of pictures and updates so I was completely at ease. We can’t wait to have Careen watch Shadow again!”

“Great stay with fantastic photos/videos, playmates, and I can tell just how well Jenn and Inam care for all of the pups... definitely looking forward to future stays!”

“Dexter is a passive 17+ yr “old” man. Laura was great with him. He often gets separation anxiety but was very comfortable and relaxed with her. She was very attentive updating us by sending pics and videos which confirmed he was very much at ease with her and her family. We’ll definitely use her again. Thanks Laura!”

“Kathryn and Jeremy were great, can't recommend them enough. They were extremely communicative both before Bella's stay and during, updating us with pictures etc throughout the day. The couple are very well versed in dog behavior/needs and asked all the right questions to make us feel confident Bella was going to be well cared for and safe. When we picked Bella up she was very comfortable in their home and was resting with Kathryn and Jeremy. If you are looking for trustworthy couple to watch your pup with love and attention, this is it!”

“Mylinda was wonderful with Milo! She was very accommodating with my last-minute needs, and I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in her care. She sent pictures and updates multiple times a day, was very responsive, and handled any unexpected situations really well. Milo seemed happy and well taken care of when I picked him up. I really appreciated how communicative and attentive she was throughout the week and would definitely book with her again!”

“Thank you Kevin for taking care of Rocco while my family and I were on vacation. Kevin has a warm and caring personality so we felt comfortable to leave our 10 month old husky under his care for 7 days after only 5 minutes of first meeting him. Kevin provided exceptional care to our Rocco and keep us updated by sending pictures and videos of the adventures Rocco experienced while we were away. We will definitely work with Kevin again, and of course recommend him to care for your dog. Thank you Kevin 😊”

“If you need a pet sitter - Pauline is your girl!! I can’t thank her enough for hosting my two dogs in her home for the night. I received photos & an update within 30 minutes of dropping them off - & without having to check in myself - which I absolutely loved & appreciated. I then received updates all throughout the day which is exactly what I needed! She was VERY attentive to the dogs, asked about/followed their normal routine & updated me if she sensed anything was wrong or if the dogs seemed uncomfortable (one of them was exhibiting signs of an ear infection). I know my dogs were well taken care of and enjoyed their stay. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and we are so very grateful to Pauline!!!”

“Rod was great! He sent me several pictures a day of my dog Ace. He even watched him an extra day after I had flight issues and was very understanding. 10/10 service and would book him again!”
“We had a great experience with Kristen! She took care of our Ladybug while we were away for a week on vacation. From our initial contact through our dog's stay, her communication was timely and informative. We appreciated the photos she sent and her flexibility when our return flight got delayed. I felt completely comfortable leaving Ladybug in her care, and our baby totally enjoyed the stay with her!”

“Victoria did an amazing job taking care of my dog, Kujo! She made sure all the pets were safe, gave him plenty of love and attention, and treated him like one of her own. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. I highly recommend Victoria to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pets!”

About: Hi everyone. I am new to Rover as a sitter but I’ve taken care of different types of dog breeds for 5 years! Dogs are considered to be humans best friends and I treat them like they’re mine! I provide comfort and care and help each dog with anything they may need, ranging from love, to energy and any special need care the owner may have! I alter my care depending on each need to each individual dog! I am comfortable around all dogs. While also having a job as an engineer, I try to make time for my animals even if that means leaving work and coming home to make sure they have everything they need! I also have days off that need to be filled with more joy and more animals! With a lot of free time, I can make sure your fur baby is never alone and bored! I’m also new on rover as a sitter and I’m super excited to start meeting new pets! I have 2 mini golden doodle puppy one named Tobi and one named Rylee. They are as playful and energetic as they can be. I provide them with attention and energy anytime they need/ want and they control my whole world! This would be no different than taking care of your pets too! Every pet deserves love so I will provide that level of comfortability! I adapt to your pets as if they are my own.

Abigail was a wonderful sitter! She was communicative, kind, and very intuitive with my girl Roe. She asked all the right questions that put me at ease and indicated she took pet safety and care seriously. We’ll definitely plan on booking with her again next time we’re in town.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
