“If you need a pet sitter - Pauline is your girl!! I can’t thank her enough for hosting my two dogs in her home for the night. I received photos & an update within 30 minutes of dropping them off - & without having to check in myself - which I absolutely loved & appreciated. I then received updates all throughout the day which is exactly what I needed! She was VERY attentive to the dogs, asked about/followed their normal routine & updated me if she sensed anything was wrong or if the dogs seemed uncomfortable (one of them was exhibiting signs of an ear infection). I know my dogs were well taken care of and enjoyed their stay. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and we are so very grateful to Pauline!!!”

“I had to fly back to Montana and was not able to bring my fur babies. Lilly and her husband took such great care of both my fur babies. I would highly recommend using them. As I will be using them again.”

“Kristen took great care of my lab/shepard mix! I could tell my dog was happy, well loved, and cared for in my absence. I really loved the photo updates too. I highly recommend Kristen!”

“Our pup came home a happy boy. We needed last minute boarding and Samantha was more than accommodating. Constant updates were provided throughout the stay. Would gladly book again in the future.”

“We had a great experience using Mark for Dog Boarding! This was new for us as it was our first time away from our puppy Ralphie. We scheduled a "meet and greet" with Mark and his family. Mark is very prompt and responsive with communication. We new after one visit that Marks home is where we wanted our Ralphie pup to spend 8 days while we where away. We wanted our Ralphie to be in a home where he could receive full care. Mark was very attentive to needs of our pup. Mark sent us regular photos and updates about Ralphie. Thank you Mark for the amazing pictures of Ralphie. When we picked up Ralphie we where impressed that he seemed even better trained then when dropped him off. We look forward to using Mark's family home in the near future. Highly recommended!”

“Victoria did an amazing job taking care of my dog, Kujo! She made sure all the pets were safe, gave him plenty of love and attention, and treated him like one of her own. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. I highly recommend Victoria to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pets!”

“Anita took care of my two dogs Rylan, a one year old husky mix, and Vandy a 12 year old pitbull this past weekend and honestly they couldn't of been in better hands. I picked them up on Sunday and they didn't even want to leave. They had obviously received so much love and attention and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you so much Anita!!!”

“Sherry provided wonderful care for Denver and Bronco while we were away for 11 days. She spoiled them so much and allowed our family to truly relax and enjoy our vacation.”

“Inam and Jennifer are so wonderful and flexible. They met up with me and my pup (Frankie) before boarding her for the weekend and were very flexible and communicative around drop off/pick up times. Frankie had a wonderful stay and is excited to go back to stay with Inam and Jennifer soon!”

“Kathryn & Jeremy were great! Their house was cozy and friendly. Our corgi loved playing with their kids and he was definitely tired when he got home. They were great at communication and we felt our dog was safe. Will book with them again!”

“Dexter is a passive 17+ yr “old” man. Laura was great with him. He often gets separation anxiety but was very comfortable and relaxed with her. She was very attentive updating us by sending pics and videos which confirmed he was very much at ease with her and her family. We’ll definitely use her again. Thanks Laura!”

“Thank you Kevin for taking care of Rocco while my family and I were on vacation. Kevin has a warm and caring personality so we felt comfortable to leave our 10 month old husky under his care for 7 days after only 5 minutes of first meeting him. Kevin provided exceptional care to our Rocco and keep us updated by sending pictures and videos of the adventures Rocco experienced while we were away. We will definitely work with Kevin again, and of course recommend him to care for your dog. Thank you Kevin 😊”

Abigail was a wonderful sitter! She was communicative, kind, and very intuitive with my girl Roe. She asked all the right questions that put me at ease and indicated she took pet safety and care seriously. We’ll definitely plan on booking with her again next time we’re in town.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
