“Absolutely wonderful! She was so great with Ellie and when our original flight was canceled she was completely open to watching her longer in order to allow us peace of mind while traveling. The update pictures and videos made it clear Ellie enjoyed her stay.”

“Araceli and Uciel did a fantastic job of watching my dog for a week. They took such wonderful care of him and sent pics\videos with updates every day. It was clear he had a grand time playing with their two dogs and being spoiled rotten. I will definitely be using them again when I go out of town.”

“Our dogs were notably excited to go to Josh’s house for a second stay. He kept them healthy and happy once again!! He is our first choice for dog care when we have to travel. Thanks so much, Josh!”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Elizabeth! The pups were happy to see us, but obviously very well cared for! We received daily updates and photos which gave us such peace of mind. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth to everyone, and will be using her again!”

“Michelle did an amazing job with our dog. She was very loving and caring towards him. I could see in the photos and videos that Michelle sent that our dog was happy and well taken care of. I would definitely book with Michelle again and highly recommend her.”

“Dyan is amazing with dogs. She recently welcomed my girl while I was out of town and helped her feel right at home. Dyan was accessible and provided updates including photos. She has watched three of my dogs now. I trust her completely.”

“Anna is compassionate, and communicates very well! She was extremely positive when my dog has trouble adjusting and always willing to try something to help. Her care made a world of difference! Highly recommend Anna as a dog caregiver and a human!”

“Our dog Rocky loves staying with Kevin and Brian! He comes home tired and we never have to worry that he is safe and happy! He gets lots of love and we can relax that he is in good hands. We have used them many times and will continue to!”

“James was fantastic! I have a relatively shy dog, but he came home super happy and clearly had a fun time with James and fam in a super compassionate, loving household. Would recommend them anytime.”

“Ariadne was amazing! Probably one of the best sitters we’ve had! She took such good care of my dogs, she was super communicative and caring. Will definitely book with her again”

“To say I'm thankful to have connected with Zara is an understatement!! Hands down the best dog sitting/boarding experience we've ever had. There is just a certain type of person who really understands dogs— and Zara and her husband totally get it. They are the real deal. Everything they did- from the preliminary visit, to the way they introduced Shy to their other dogs, to the great communication during her stay- made me feel so comfortable and at ease. Zara really knows what she is doing and the dogs she watches over are so lucky to have her! Our dog, Shy, came back to us happy and looking healthier than ever (and this is a lot to say for a separation-anxiety-prone-weimaraner who hates being away from her humans!) I could not recommend Zara more. If you are in the area and need help with your pup, Zara is a must. A 10/10 experience!”

“Ifan was awesome, looked after my best bud for 2 weeks and my pup loved every minute of it. Ifan was very responsive as well to questions and sent timely updates. Will book again for sure!”

“Cassandra did an amazing job caring for our 4 year old English bulldog for 8 days. Our bulldog is quite stubborn with several medical conditions and she administered all medications and went above and beyond so we can travel without him for the first time in 4 years. Cassandra sent us daily updates and was very quick to respond to us and helped put our minds at ease while away.”

“John is the best! We have booked with him repeatedly and will continue to. He is quick to respond to communications, professional, personable, and has a great home including fenced in back yard, wonderful assistant (wife), and Dolly who is a 4-legged companion for our dog. Would highly recommend him, without any reservations.”

“Great hosts for Herashio. All the family cared for him. They sent a picture every day and kept us updated on any events. They were flexible about scheduling the meet and greet, drop-off and pickup. Very fast responsive to all texts. Followed all care instructions. Highly recommended.”

“Janelle was so great and Storm had a wonderful time! She sent plenty of photos while we were away and really put us at ease! Will definitely rely on her again when we need a sitter.”

“Loved Jennifer! She was awesome and met me in the park to introduce Cooper to some of the other dogs she was currently watching prior to the stay. She gave regular updates and did a great job with socializing Cooper with other dogs. She is a great photographer and put together an album of the week. Loved her and wouldn’t use any other sitter!”
“We had a wonderful experience with Karen! Before confirming the booking, she invited us for a meet and greet at her place, which has a spacious and comfortable room just for boarding dogs. One of the main reasons we chose her is that she doesn’t board dogs from different families at the same time, and her own dogs don’t interact with guests—something that really mattered to us since our 8-month-old German Shepherd was boarding for the very first time. Karen took careful notes, asked lots of thoughtful questions, and made sure to follow our dog’s usual routine. During our two-day trip, she sent frequent photo updates that gave us so much peace of mind. Our puppy was clearly comfortable and relaxed around her. We’ll definitely book with Karen again in the future!”

Kevin is a fantastic sitter. This is Scruffy’s second time with him. Scruffy is generally very skittish, but warmed up to Kevin and Samson quickly. Kevin sent many adorable pictures and videos throughout Scruffy’s stay and was genuinely excited to have Scruffy around. Kevin was also communicative throughout the entire process (booking + stay) and is was flexible with the drop-off and pick-up times. 10/10, would recommend!

Stephawna and her husband are amazing. They took great care of Rosie and treated her like their own. I loved the regular updates and communication. The atmosphere was completely laid back and stress-free. There's nothing I would change about our time with Stephawna, it was flawless. I can't wait to re-book!!!

Estelle took excellent care of Frannie for the weekend. She was part of the family and I felt reassured and comfortable she was well taken care of and they enjoyed having her there. It is so nice to be able to leave town and not have to worry about your pet. Thank you, Estelle and family!

Had a great experience with Kristin! Our two pups stayed for a week - our boy suffers from seizures which Kristin had experience with. Kristin was wonderful at keeping us updated on his condition during their stay. We received daily reports and pictures. I appreciate how well Kristin took care of our pups!

I had an amazing experience with this dog sitter. They were truly wonderful—reliable, caring, and incredibly attentive. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog Jacob was in such good hands. This was the first time Jacob actually wanted to go back and even seemed to miss his caregivers, which says everything about the love and attention he received. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
