“Nora is a fantastic pet sitter. She's conscientious, detailed, and compassionate. My cat got some dental work done just before our trip. Nora was incredibly diligent with his extra care needs. I highly recommend booking Nora for cat/house sitting.”

“Sowatey was excellent! He sent several photos and kept me informed the entire time I was away. He is super respectful and truly loves spending time with animals. I highly recommend Sowatey!”

“This is my first time using Rover or requesting dog sitting and I wasn’t sure if someone would care for not 2, but 3 little dogs for one day… especially my first dog who barks anlot and is reactive a lot to the point when I worry he may not like anyone except family. Well, color me surprised when Drake came to meet and great the day before the booking and my 1yr Chipin took a quick liking to him and the other two! Drake was very professional and kept me up to date on the dogs and didn’t hesitate to ask questions and reply in a timely manner . He respected not only me, but my dogs and home. He was very flexible if something came up on my end and I appreciate the photo updates of my dogs snuggling up with him because I knew they were taken well care for. Thank you again and I will definitely hire again!”

“She was great with Rolly and caring for our home when we were away. I'd highly recommend her to anyone that is looking to get away for a few days but may be afraid to leave their loved pets behind. Highly recommend Anastasia!!”

About: Dogs have always been part of my family, from Beagles to Bullies & up to three in a home at a time. Friends, family (& now clients!) have trusted me with caring for their animals on a fairly regular basis doing anything from food/bathroom check-ins to walks, dog park visits & assisting with training. I'm big on positive reinforcement to bring out the best in them. Experienced walking three medium/large dogs at once. Comfortable with elderly dogs & their needs, including handling seizures & the appropriate care. Currently open to just about anything. I'm recovering from health issues & trying to ramp up my activity until I'm able to return to my career as a creative pro. I treat them as their own beings & not 'just' pets by understanding their physical, mental & emotional requirements, doing my best to meet or exceed them. My lifelong interest in psychology has been invaluable in my approach to caring for/working with animals & I feel the joy they've given me over the course of my life should be shared with others & their owners. Upon getting my incredible APBT girl I dedicated months & months to reading & watching everything I possibly could to ensure my behavior would set them up for success no matter the situation, so far that personal mission has been an exciting & fulfilling experience.
“Nina was great. She stayed at our house for the week with our two dogs and you could tell by the pics they loved being with her. When we got home music was playing and the bed was stripped and in laundry. Would highly recommend.”

About: I've been taking care of my own pets for 6+ years. I make sure pets feel loved and well-cared for, whether it's playtime, feeding, or just giving them some extra snuggles. I understand that each pet has unique needs and preferences, so I adapt my approach to suit their individual personalities. Devoted and loving pet caretaker available around the clock. With a very flexible schedule, I can provide frequent walks, playtime, and feeding to keep your pets happy and healthy. I have a yard for your pet to play in with supervision. I have a small dog and cat that are friendly, But they can be moved to another part of the house if you prefer.
“Gina was very kind and watched our 2 mini aussies and house sat while we were on vacation. She left the house clean and exactly how we left it. Was a very respectful house guest. We will definitely book her again.”

About: I’ve taken care of pets, dogs of all sizes, cats. I’ve given medicine orally, and insulin shots. I have sat for pets for several years for family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. I love spending time with all animals between long walks, hiking, and just hanging out on the couch. I work full time but I telework several times per week. Weekends completely available. When I’m at the office my partner is home 24/7 so the pets will never be alone! I have a lead going from the back deck to the shed (across my whole yard) I have two very friendly dogs and cats. I can crate if needed & there is space available if your dog needs to decompress alone without other animals. I slowly introduce animals to make sure everyone coexists well. All dogs are fed separately to avoid any food aggression. We have an over sized, fully gated and covered back deck that the dogs can also hangout on with us safely.
“Lauren took great care of our pets, which included a daily pill our cat had to be tricked into taking. She was very responsive and put our minds at ease, and flexible when a travel delay meant that we were going to be late getting home. I will definitely book with Lauren again.”
“Jade is such a great sitter for our two dogs! Our very shy and skittish husky warmed up to her more quickly than most guests and she does great with our high energy, rambunctious lab mix. She's always responsive and shares lots of photos.”

“Michael was a wonderful pet sitter for our 4 dogs. He developed a great rapport with them and was super attentive to their needs. He took good notes for us and managed their schedules and took great care of our home as well! Michael stayed later than originally expected as we ran late getting back and was proactive in getting in touch with us and ensuring everyone was well taken care of!”
“Delaney took great care of my girl! She sent lots of pictures so I could see how my girl was doing, and she was very happy. Then when I got home, my house was clean. I will definitely hire Delaney again.”

“Madeline was simply amazing! she loved, cuddled, played with and was wonderful with Ruby. she kept me updated and took lots of pictures too. i will book her again in a heartbeat - i’ve never felt better about leaving Ruby in someone’s care!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. My job has been to feed them, give them water, clean up after them, take them for walks, and give them medication. I also currently have a senior dog, so I have some experience with them! I have experience with small and big dogs alike. I am a college student who is home for the summer, so I have full availability. During the school year, I will work around my class schedule. Evenings and weekends will be free for sure. We have a fenced yard at home. Still, I watch my dogs just in case. In spring/summer I check for ticks every time they go out. When we go on walks, I am always diligent when we pass another dog. If my dogs aren't up for walks, especially my senior dog, we go out into the backyard and play fetch or run around.
About: I had a childhood cat named Sophie since I was born. We grew up together and she was definitely the reason I knew I wanted to work with animals because I enjoyed helping them so much. I have experience in an extremely busy environment both at an ER and at a dog daycare. I loved working at the Vet and can’t wait to get back to it! I’m on a break from school and want to keep working with animals but give myself a small break from schoolwork and animals are the best mental health tool. I can’t wait to get to know your baby and create a safe, fun and loving environment for them. I am currently on a break from college until I go do my practicum experience at Penn vet hospital is philly. I’m not working during the days right now, I spend them with my cat and would enjoy having a fun baby to take a walk with or just play with! I have a long haired tuxedo cat named juliet. When i’m home from school we have a lot of fun during the day since my family works. She’s so sweet and never fails to make me laugh or to catch random zoomies mid nap. I feed her in the mornings and clean her litter box during the day.
About: I’ve always treated dogs like part of the family, not just pets. When your dog stays with me, they’ll be in a home environment where they get real attention, affection, and care…not just supervision. My goal is for you to feel completely at ease knowing your dog is comfortable, loved, and well cared for. They have a huge back yard to enjoy running around with their tongues hanging to the ground lol! We usually bathe them outside before heading in on hot summer days. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I’m home throughout the day. This allows me to give consistent attention, regular potty breaks, feeding on schedule, and plenty of supervision to make sure your dog is comfortable and well cared for at all times I currently have three small, well-socialized dogs who are friendly and enjoy meeting new dogs. Any dog in my care becomes part of our routine and is treated like family. Our day starts around 6 AM with the first potty break, followed by consistent outdoor time every 3–4 hours. I have a backyard, so the dogs get plenty of supervised outdoor play, along with daily walks for exercise and stimulation. I keep a structured but relaxed environment. My dogs are on a routine that includes feeding schedules, treats, and basic obedience reinforcement like sit, stay, and lay down. This helps create a calm, balanced atmosphere where all dogs can feel comfortable and settle in easily. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and well-managed home where your dog feels like they belong

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Bristol on Rover is $43.93 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bristol walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bristol maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bristol choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bristol. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
