“Erika is always so wonderful with our dog. We’ve used her a number of times for boarding including some longer stays and our pup absolutely loves to be there. We’ll absolutely continue to book!”

“Cassandra & Nolan took excellent care of my Rosie girl while I was on a day trip to NYC. Frequent walks, cuddles, playtime, and plenty of photo updates. She enjoyed taking part in their holiday celebration! I will definitely book them again next time I'm in CT.”

“My Teddy did great with Angel and Carolina. We received updates daily. Teddy is a senior dog so I was little nervous but they put me at ease with constant updates. I highly recommend Angel and Carolina to take of your pup. I'm grateful to have found them!”

“Anna is compassionate, and communicates very well! She was extremely positive when my dog has trouble adjusting and always willing to try something to help. Her care made a world of difference! Highly recommend Anna as a dog caregiver and a human!”

“Izzy seemed to have a great time here! She loved playing with their dog Madden and another doggie that is a regular there. She stayed there for 6 nights for the first time and they took her to the park and played everyday. They also made them yummy cooked carrot treats and Izzy just loved being there with the other pups. Iz would love to stay again for play days, great doggie friendly home :)”

“Robin is always so wonderful with our dog, Adelaide. She does regular drop in visits with her so when we need boarding services, Robin is always our first choice! She shows our dog so much care, attention and love.”

“Elizabeth was amazing! We truly could not have asked for a better boarding experience. Our dog Luna is pretty nervous around new people, but Elizabeth and her family created a safe, comfortable environment that allowed Luna to come out of her shell. The regular updates and photos we received throughout our trip were much appreciated. I would recommend Elizabeth to any dog owner in a heartbeat 🐾”

“Mark and his family were amazing with our 2 puppies! This was our first time leaving them alone, and I’m so happy we chose Mark. He would send daily updates which was very reassuring to me. Both of them are very happy and tired! I highly recommend booking with Mark for your next trip!”

“Kevin was amazing in every aspect of watching Nora. We got tons of pictures and incredible levels of communication. We plan to book with him again and could not be happier.”

“Ariadne was great! She has a beautiful, clean and well organized home and I could tell she really loves animals. I got lots of pictures while I was away and my dog looked great when I picked her up. Ariadne is also very sweet and likable. I highly recommend her!”

“Anita and her family cared for my super timid dog Poncho for a week while we were out of town. Poncho had never been left anywhere before. He decided to go on a hunger strike and not eat/drink much. I had provided dry food and to try and get him to eat Anita went out and got wet food for him as well as gave him water with a syringe to make sure he was not dehydrated. I’m confident boarding him in a facility with a ton of dogs would have stressed him out more. Anita did a great job trying to make my nervous, quirky dog as comfortable as possible. Thankful that she and her family provided such good care to Poncho!”

“Hailey was wonderful and a dog loving person. She updated me with pictures and took care of Tucker’s medication needs. She will be my first choice when in the area again. She has a lovely home and yard.”

“Kathryn and Jeremy were great, can't recommend them enough. They were extremely communicative both before Bella's stay and during, updating us with pictures etc throughout the day. The couple are very well versed in dog behavior/needs and asked all the right questions to make us feel confident Bella was going to be well cared for and safe. When we picked Bella up she was very comfortable in their home and was resting with Kathryn and Jeremy. If you are looking for trustworthy couple to watch your pup with love and attention, this is it!”

“Destini is the best with my dog Zinni! This is my second time boarding my pup with Destini and it won’t be my last. She’s so great about communicating and sending lots of pictures and videos showing how happy my girl is during her stay.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
