“Cassandra did an amazing job caring for our 4 year old English bulldog for 8 days. Our bulldog is quite stubborn with several medical conditions and she administered all medications and went above and beyond so we can travel without him for the first time in 4 years. Cassandra sent us daily updates and was very quick to respond to us and helped put our minds at ease while away.”

“Cruz Maria has taken care of our fur babies for years! Now that we no longer live in CT (now Maine!), we were so relieved that she was available to take care of our new puppy Sophia while back visiting our daughter. Thanks!!”

“Monique was wonderful. She took great care of my dog - she made sure to ask about instructions regarding food, activity, etc, and followed them closely. She was very easy to get in touch with and sent lots of adorable photos of my dog. I could tell my dog had a great time with her!”

“We have been looking for a “go-to” dog sitter since moving to the New Haven area this summer, and we’ve certainly found one in Noemi and David. We reached out on short notice, looking to board our dog for a long weekend, and they were nothing but accommodating. We were able to quickly schedule a meet and greet, visit their home, and socialize our dog with their family (and their dog, Milo). When we dropped him off there for boarding, we were as comfortable as we could be and had no hesitation in trusting Noemi and David to take care of him. We received great updates/videos over the weekend, and communication was consistently clear and prompt. Our dog seems to have settled right in and came home happily exhausted from plenty of play time this weekend. I can’t recommend Noemi and David enough. We won’t be looking to board our pup with anyone else as long as they’re available!”

“Saori was great. Our one year old lab was in heaven at their place. We received a puppy that was well cared for and had gotten a lot of socialization and exercise is a safe environment.”

“Jayme really helped us out with watching Diesel when we had to go away for a long weekend for a family wedding. I felt very comfortable knowing that Diesel was in good hands and that he had a yard to play around with. Jayme is very kind and sent several pictures of Diesel. Knowing that he was in someone’s loving home and not in a boarding facility put me at ease. I would recommend Jayme without hesitation for anyone who wants their dog to have a home away from home!”

“Our dog Skye is so happy to be dropped off at Wendy’s and exhausted when we pick her up. We love receiving updates and videos while we’re away too. Total peace of mind!”

“If there was a 5+ I would leave it as a review!! Anne-Marie treated Gracie as if she washer own. I was nervous to leave her at first, but Anne-Marie sent us photos of Gracie every day. She also made sure that Gracie got her medicine every day. She is awesome and we will definitely be using her again!”

“Mikayla and Justin took great care of Scooby, especially when he was anxious about hearing fireworks - they comforted him and played some calming music for him. They also sent regular and detailed updates with many pictures!”

“Stephanie is awesome with my pet. Very understanding and patient with a dog who is very anxious. I appreciate this and can be stress free while traveling.”

“Christine took such great care of Max. We’re always nervous leaving Max with someone new but she kept us updated every day with photos and was quick to respond to our messages. Max was happy and well rested when we picked him up. I would recommend Christine to anyone looking for an attentive and caring person to look after their pooch!”
“Luci & her husband did a great job taking care of our dog recently for a couple of days. They have a fenced backyard - super for our dog to safely run & play with her dogs. When I returned to pick her up, the hosts provided me with a sweet thank you/remember them before leaving - a wonderul bag with colorful graphics of dogs, as well as a poop bag clipped to our dog's leash. They were lovely.”

“We’ve used a handful of sitters on rover and Angela and Tommy are the best. They have an awesome big yard, playful friendly pups, and give lots of love to our fur baby. Thankful to have a go to home for when we have to travel.”

“Brianna took great care of my Phoebe! I was glad Brianna had dogs of her own to keep mine distracted while I was away for the weekend. Highly recommended! Thanks, Brianna!”

“Nicole and the girls took such great care of Friday. From the second they opened the door the girls took him under their wing and made him feel right at home. Nicole sent a ton of photos and I was jealous of how much fun they were having. I don’t think he wanted to come home! Thank you so much Nicole!”

“Karina kept me updated with photos daily and she took such good care of Nilla who can be a bit reactive/fearful at times. Karina assured me she would take extra care and Nilla left happy!”

“Triba was great! Super responsive, gave lots of attention to my cat, and took great care of him. She was also flexible with dates. Would definitely hire her again.”
“Christopher was very accommodating and flexible. He went out of his way to pick up Cameo at a more ideal timing prior to my departure for my work trip. He sent daily updates and pictures of Cameo playing and answered any questions that I had. Cameo got lots of play time and came home happy and exhausted :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cheshire
Karen was fantastic with our two dogs. We needed to board them unexpectedly, with very little notice. She responded quickly and was able to take them and was even able to extend the stay when we needed more time. She sent frequent updates and photos. Our dogs looked happy the whole time. We have one dog who has anxiety and she looked so comfortable with Karen. She definitely went above and beyond to ensure they were well taken care of. Highly recommend her and would use her again in the future.

Lori took such wonderful care of my dog, Sonny, during his two-night stay! I was so happy with the care and attention she gave him. She kept me updated, and it was clear that Sonny was comfortable and well cared for the entire time. When I picked him up, he seemed happy, relaxed, and right at home. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would absolutely book with Lori again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!

I would absolutely recommend Alaina and Jake as your dog sitter. They took the best care of our dog while in their care. He went on plenty of walks, outside fun time and plenty of snuggles throughout his stay. They communicate with you the whole time. We had such peace of mind knowing our pup was in great hands. I think our dog, Larry, was actually a little sad leaving them! We highly recommend Alaina and Jake when looking for the best sitter for your pup.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
