My dog bear loves going over to Alaina and Jake’s, and they love having him over! They’ve been able to work with my schedule, and take last minute bookings as well. I love that they send me pics of bear throughout the day and keep me updated. I know bears in good hands and safe at their house.

Maria did exceptional with my baby Snoopy! I was really scared since he suffers from extreme anxiety (He’s a rescue dog). He did great with Maria. She kept me informed and would send me pictures. She was very caring, gentle and comforting. Snoopy did very well with transition. I will definitely rebook with Maria.

Kristen was great with our 3 month old puppy. She was flexible, sent us plenty of pictures, and responded quickly. It was a serene getaway for him and he looked very comfortable in her home. She took him on walks and he walked really well with her. On the second day drop off Kameron was wagging his tail as we walked inside and went straight for a prized green toy he loved. The pictures she sent were beautiful and she was very easy to talk to. I highly recommend her would absolutely use her again.

My pups always come home from Mark's house happy and tired. They love the opportunity to play outside for most of the day (and I like that the yard is secure)

Marianna was absolutely wonderful! I left my dog with her for 7 hours and he was a smiling bundle of joy when I picked him up. She took care to introduce my dog gently to the others in her home. She sent me photos letting me know that he was relaxed and being a good boy. Would definitely bring my pup back to her.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and currently care for one dog. I’m experienced with pets of all ages and needs, from playful puppies to senior dogs. I’ve also cared for guinea pigs, bunnies, and cats, so I’m comfortable with a variety of animals and their unique personalities. Im home from college for four months and want to keep myself busy and what better way than to care for my favorite little fur babies!! I absolutely LOVE walks and hikes with my pup but I wanted to keep myself active as I play collegiate lacrosse and volleyball! I have a fenced big back yard which is big enough for them to run around in and a forest right behind my house which I would take them on walks in!

Kelly is such an awesome dog sitter. She is so nice and shows love to all of her pawed clients. She sends updates and great pics everyday. Jax gets so excited when we pull up to her house because of how much he loves her. I know Jax is well taken care of. We are so thankful that we found her! And you will be too. :)

Cecilia is amazing. We are so relieved to have found a sitter who treats our Daisy like her own. She is flexible, accommodating, and made us feel very comfortable. Daisy is a pandemic puppy that is not used to being around other people and dogs, but Cecilia was excellent with helping her feel comfortable and sent us lots of pictures. Cecilia’s pup Luna played well with Daisy too. Can’t recommend her enough!

About: My family and I have had pets our whole lives, and we’ve developed a tremendous love for them. Showing love for all animals is something my wife and I wanted to display to our children, and based on the compassion we see them we must have done something right. So, it's safe to say that your pet will be receiving love and attention from all different angles. And my family and I like to be active with the animals we watch - walks, outside play and quality time will always be provided. My wife and I work from home, so our schedules are very flexible. We're also homebodies, so there's always someone home to keep your pet company. I also have two daughters (ages 13 and 11) that are extremely helpful and loving with animals. It simply comes natural to them. So, they'll certainly spend all of their time interacting with your pets in a gentle, trusting manner. Long story short, your pet will be the center of attention. I have 3 cats in my home that are indifferent to most dogs, and tend to go about their business. We have a spacious home for your pets to roam around in, including a finished downstairs and an unoccupied bedroom if they need some time to themselves. I also have a fenced in backyard for your dogs to get some fresh air and play fetch. My neighborhood is also very dog-friendly, with so many families walking their dogs on a daily/nightly basis. So, if your dog is social they'll have a friend to walk with. It's a nice little tucked away neighborhood with minimal traffic flow, making for a peaceful atmosphere.

I do virtual dog training sessions and only work one day out of the house, so very easy for me to take care of your pup in between sessions. We have a fenced in yard with plenty of toys as well as going for daily walks in our very safe neighborhood. I also have two very friendly medium size pups who love to play.

About: I rescued my own dog from a shelter, and she required a lot of special training and patience. I worked with her on socialization, leash walking, and reducing pulling and barking around other dogs, and I have successfully helped her improve in all of these areas. Since she was a puppy when I adopted her, I also have experience with the patience, consistency, and care that younger dogs require. In addition, I care for a senior dog, so I am experienced in recognizing when a dog has reached their physical limit during walks and understanding how to adjust care based on their needs. Having experience with both younger and older dogs, as well as both large and small breeds, has taught me how to handle dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and training levels with confidence and care. I am currently in school but there are only three days a week I am completely booked with classes. My Mondays and Fridays and weekends are completely open and would love to spend my free time around more dogs! I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment for pets while they are in my care. Since I live in an apartment, I make sure the space is pet-friendly, secure, and free of anything that could be harmful to animals. I pay close attention to each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, bathroom breaks, exercise, and any special instructions from the owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions closely to help pets feel comfortable in their familiar environment. I prioritize safety during walks, monitor pets closely around other animals, and make sure they receive plenty of attention, patience, and affection. I also provide updates and communication so owners feel reassured while their pets are in my care.

Rebecca was fantastic with Scout! He was so tired after playing with her and her dog, he must have had a great time! And to boot, Rebecca was great with us - she kept us updated, and was very flexible time-wise, accommodating our changing schedule. I highly recommend her, and would certainly book with her again! Thanks!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cheshire commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 799 sitters in Cheshire, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
