About: Hello Rover customers, I have taken care of pets since I was a child and have taken care of my family’s fur babies since my kids were small. I am currently left with my senior cat at home but would love to take great care of your beloved fur babies. I am currently self employed and work part time during the weekdays. I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate as needed with enough notice! I have a fenced in yard for my animals if needed but I am very careful in customer’s homes and make sure to not leave without checking my surroundings first so no animals gets out the door.
“Kristen was great with our 3 month old puppy. She was flexible, sent us plenty of pictures, and responded quickly. It was a serene getaway for him and he looked very comfortable in her home. She took him on walks and he walked really well with her. On the second day drop off Kameron was wagging his tail as we walked inside and went straight for a prized green toy he loved. The pictures she sent were beautiful and she was very easy to talk to. I highly recommend her would absolutely use her again.”

“Jenna was great with our anxious and jumpy pup. She took him on walks, spent good time outdoors, sent regular updates, and had a great, calming demeanor with him. She was very flexible even when we came to her last minute. Definitely recommend!”

“Maria did exceptional with my baby Snoopy! I was really scared since he suffers from extreme anxiety (He’s a rescue dog). He did great with Maria. She kept me informed and would send me pictures. She was very caring, gentle and comforting. Snoopy did very well with transition. I will definitely rebook with Maria.”

“Krystal is amazing! I left my puppy with her and she took her on adventures and walks! Her pup is perfect to play with! Thank you for giving me peace of mind today! Will definitely be booking again!”

About: I am a veterinary nurse as well as a certified dog trainer. I love animals of all shapes and sizes and will treat your pup as one of my own! I work from home. I do virtual dog training sessions and only work one day out of the house, so very easy for me to take care of your pup in between sessions. We have a fenced in yard with plenty of toys as well as going for daily walks in our very safe neighborhood. I also have two very friendly medium size pups who love to play.
“My dog bear loves going over to Alaina and Jake’s, and they love having him over! They’ve been able to work with my schedule, and take last minute bookings as well. I love that they send me pics of bear throughout the day and keep me updated. I know bears in good hands and safe at their house.”

“Gracie had a great day with Mariana and her crew. Mariana welcomed her with open arms. Having the fenced back yard so accessible is perfect for letting dogs in and out as needed, but the house itself is comfy and warm -- just right for these snowy, cold winter days. I highly recommend Mariana as a loving dog care giver.”

“Vanessa was a great sitter for our dog Buttercup! We received many pictures while we were away which was very comforting. Even though Buttercup got sick during her stay, Vanessa took great care of her. Thank you Vanessa!”

About: Hi, I’m Luz 🤍 I’m a proud dog mom to two fur babies: my sweet 4-year-old Cavapoo and my playful 1-year-old Toy Poodle. They are my world, and that love naturally extends to every dog I welcome into my home. I do things a little differently here. I keep my clientele small and intentional. I believe every dog deserves focused, genuine care, not just a place to sleep. The families I work with aren’t just clients, they become part of my family. That’s the kind of relationship I’m here to build. What your pup can look forward to 🐾 From the moment they arrive, they’re surrounded by love. My two boys are friendly, social companions who make every stay feel comfortable and fun. We have a private fenced dog park right at our building, so there’s plenty of space to run, play, and be a dog, every single day. I’m also an active walker, averaging 50+ miles a month, so your pup will always be well exercised and happy. When it’s time for a little pampering, I offer a full dog wash including shampoo/ whitening shampoo, CHI detangling spray, brushing, blow dry, and a finishing perfume so they go home looking and smelling their best. 🛁✨ (Dog wash is available as an add-on for an additional fee.) Pet laundry is included by request. Their blankets, beds, and favorite things go home as fresh as they do. Throughout every stay, you’ll receive real-time photos and updates! Peace of mind matters just as much as the care itself. Services offered: 🐶 Dog Boarding 🐶 Dog Walking 🛁 Dog Wash (add-on) 🧺 Pet Laundry (included by request) 📍 Meriden, CT | Meet & greets are available by request for shorter stays. M&G’s are required before booking for longer stays to ensure a healthy and playful environment. ⚠️ NO CATS — no exceptions. My eldest is not cat-friendly and the safety of every animal in my home always comes first. I’d love to meet your pup and earn your trust. Feel free to message me anytime. 💌 I’m home full-time with a completely flexible schedule, which means your dog is never left alone or waiting on attention. Whether it’s a long afternoon walk, an evening stroll, or a cozy night in, I’m always present and available. I genuinely love being home with my babies, so boarding fits perfectly into my lifestyle. Your pup isn’t coming to a business, they’re coming to a home where someone is there, all day, every day. 🤍 The safety of every dog in my care is something I take seriously and never compromise on. All dogs are kept on harnesses and leashes during walks and outings. Free roaming is only permitted within our private fenced dog park. Socialization with other dogs is handled with care and only takes place with prior approval from the pet parent. Treats are never given without authorization, and all allergies, sensitivities, and health conditions are documented before every stay. Please note that breed and weight restrictions may apply. Feel free to message me for more details before booking. 💌
“We took Frances to daycare as a first step before considering boarding. From the very beginning, Raeven was very kind and welcoming. It was our first time using this service, and it couldn’t have gone better. Now we feel at ease knowing that our pup will stay in a place we trust.”

About: I have over 20 years of professional experience in animal care, including work in shelters, veterinary settings, daycare, grooming, and private pet sitting. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and small animals in a variety of environments and understand how to keep pets safe, calm, and comfortable. My background includes administering medications, monitoring for signs of illness, conducting behavior assessments, supporting adoptions, and working closely with veterinarians and animal welfare teams. I’ve also provided private dog walking and in-home pet sitting since 2015. In my home, dogs receive attentive, calm care in a safe environment. I’m especially experienced with small, senior, and sensitive dogs, and I’m comfortable administering medications and helping nervous or shy pets feel secure. For dogs who enjoy it, I love taking them on long walks and nature hikes to provide both physical exercise and mental enrichment. As a long-time dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I provide thoughtful, individualized care, clear communication, and regular updates so you can feel confident while you’re away. I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for drop-in visits, dog walking, and boarding. I’m able to provide morning, midday, and evening care, including weekends. Because I spend most of my time at home caring for my own small dogs, I’m able to give visiting pets consistent attention, regular walks, and a calm, predictable routine. My home is calm, clean, and set up with pets’ safety and comfort in mind. I have extensive experience safely managing multiple animals and carefully supervising introductions when needed. Dogs can be separated into different areas of the home if necessary, and I am able to crate dogs safely if that is part of their normal routine. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, and exercise needs. My goal is to provide a secure, low-stress environment where pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
About: I've had pets since a young age from lizards, cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, turtles, guinea pigs and birds. I have a small dog of my own so I know I can give your pets lots the love and attention too whether they have fur, scales, or feathers! I work from home so all pets get get a lot of attention during the day. For dogs staying in my home, they get 3 walks a day in the morning, during my lunch break, and in the evening. I work from home so all pets get a lot of attention during the day. I love to spend my time after work going on walks and would love a buddy(s) to come with me! I am available from dog walking or in home visits after 5:15pm during the week and anytime on weekends. I think the best way to care for a pet is do exactly what they're comfortable with. I intend to have very open communication with pet parents to understand the likes, dislikes and behaviors of their fur-babies to make sure that they feel safe and comfortable. I do have a dog of my own so I also want to make sure all your pets get along with my Jax, who loves other animals.
“Ellen and Brian took great care of our dog while we attended a local event. They treated her like part of the family and your pet will be very happy there. Do not hesitate to book Ellen and Brian and we would certainly use them again when in the area.”
About: I love animals and promise to take the best care of your pet. I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my whole life and know how important it is for them to feel safe and loved when away from their families. I work in a school and am off for the summer. I have all the time to play with and care for your furry family member! I will care for your pet in my house or go to your house for visits with your pet if that is better for you. I do boarding services or walking services.
About: I rescued my own dog from a shelter, and she required a lot of special training and patience. I worked with her on socialization, leash walking, and reducing pulling and barking around other dogs, and I have successfully helped her improve in all of these areas. Since she was a puppy when I adopted her, I also have experience with the patience, consistency, and care that younger dogs require. In addition, I care for a senior dog, so I am experienced in recognizing when a dog has reached their physical limit during walks and understanding how to adjust care based on their needs. Having experience with both younger and older dogs, as well as both large and small breeds, has taught me how to handle dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and training levels with confidence and care. I am currently in school but there are only three days a week I am completely booked with classes. My Mondays and Fridays and weekends are completely open and would love to spend my free time around more dogs! I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment for pets while they are in my care. Since I live in an apartment, I make sure the space is pet-friendly, secure, and free of anything that could be harmful to animals. I pay close attention to each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, bathroom breaks, exercise, and any special instructions from the owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions closely to help pets feel comfortable in their familiar environment. I prioritize safety during walks, monitor pets closely around other animals, and make sure they receive plenty of attention, patience, and affection. I also provide updates and communication so owners feel reassured while their pets are in my care.
“Liza was wonderful. We need a last minute booking for a holiday and she accommodated us very easily. Our Goldendoodle, Biscuit, was very well cared for. He doesn’t always do well away from us and can have some separation anxiety. He was at ease and enjoyed himself. We will definitely rebook with her.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wallingford
We had our 9 week old golden retriever stay with Jenna for daycare and puppies are a lot of work but Jenna and her family were very accommodating to an early morning drop off and our puppy had a great time! We also received plenty of update pictures which is always appreciated!

This was my first time having someone watch my puppy Starr and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Kristen was great and very accommodating. Starr had a wonderful time as evidenced in the many pictures taken throughout her day. Would definitely recommend her.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Wallingford commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
