“Pluto was very happy staying with Anjali. She took excellent care of her-walks, playtime, slept next to her bed and constant love. Anjali sent us pics and videos so we could see what she was up to. I highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was six and started helping take care of them around age ten. I genuinely love having a dog around, and there’s nothing better than the companionship and snuggles. I’m attentive, patient, and happy to stick to your dog’s routine so they feel right at home. I’m a hybrid worker with a flexible schedule, so I’m home a lot and able to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I love having animals around! They really fit naturally into my routine. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just hanging out, your pet will have lots of company and won’t be left alone for long periods of time. In my home, your pet will have a calm, comfortable space and lots of attention. I only have a caged rabbit, so they’ll pretty much have the house to themselves. I also have a large yard for walks and fresh air. I promise to stick to your pet’s routine as much as possible and adjust based on their personality, whether they want to play or just relax and snuggle.
“Second time buddy stayed with Brittany and her family and he had a good time. He didn’t come home clingy or anxious. Brittany kept me updated with lovely glamour shot of Buddy throughout the stay. Would recommend her without any reservations.”

“Christine was wonderful with catsitting my cats Oliver and Violet. She is a great communicator and keeps you up to date with how your pets are adjusting as well as with photos. Thanks again for having them Christine!”

“I felt great knowing my dog was in Yajaira’s hands when I was away on vacation. She was attentive to his needs and a great communicator. I would definitely book Yajaira’s services again in the future.”

“Great hosts for Herashio. All the family cared for him. They sent a picture every day and kept us updated on any events. They were flexible about scheduling the meet and greet, drop-off and pickup. Very fast responsive to all texts. Followed all care instructions. Highly recommended.”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life - my dog, Yogi, was truly my heart. He was handicapped and became very sick starting at the young age of 4. At that time, I was told he would not live long and was advised to consider euthanasia. Instead, I chose to care for him and support him through his illness, and he went on to live a full and happy life until age 12.5. Caring for a dog with special needs taught me patience, attentiveness, and how to recognize even subtle changes in behavior, comfort, or health. Because of that experience, I am especially comfortable caring for senior dogs, dogs with medical needs, or dogs who may require extra patience and compassion. I have two sons (ages 5 and 10) who are gentle, respectful, and have grown up around animals. We also have two cats, ages 3 and 1, who are very accustomed to a calm home environment. I love dogs deeply, but after losing Yogi, I haven’t been ready to get another of my own - so I figured Rover would be the next best thing until that time comes, because caring for others’ dogs is incredibly meaningful to me. I work fully remote, so I’m home all day and able to give your dog plenty of attention, walks, and outdoor time whenever they need it. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away! I also work fully remote, which allows me to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and frequent walks or outdoor breaks throughout the day. Your dog will not be left alone for long periods and will receive plenty of attention, care, and affection. My goal is always to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved - just like family! I work fully from home, so I’m here throughout the day and able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, and outdoor time. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to easily accommodate walks, feeding routines, and whatever each dog needs to feel comfortable and cared for! We live in a great, quiet neighborhood with a large front yard and a fully fenced-in backyard, which is perfect for safe outdoor time and play. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine, and I truly enjoy having dogs around and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I care for every pet as if they were my own and make sure to follow their usual routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure. In my home, pets have a safe, calm environment with plenty of supervision since I work fully remote. They’ll have access to a fully fenced-in backyard for safe outdoor time, along with regular walks, playtime, and lots of attention and affection. I’m also happy to accommodate any specific needs, including feeding schedules, medications, or crate routines. My priority is always making sure pets feel safe, loved, and stress-free while maintaining their normal routine as much as possible!
“We are so grateful for the amazing care you gave our dog! From the very beginning, Careen were kind, reliable, and attentive to every detail. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dog was in such loving hands. We could tell our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the stay. Thank you for treating our pet like family — we highly recommend your dog care service to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate!”

“My dog, Atticus, age 2, had his first full day with Margaret a few days ago. He was very well taken care of including a couple of walks. He was happy to play fetch and take naps after walking. It was easy to tell by his face and composure that he had a great day...there was no visible stress when he returned home. Another dependable companion 'star' in his young life when I am not around! Many thanks, M :)”

“Melinda and Tyler were both wonderful with my elderly dog. Melinda sent me lots of pictures and updates. They fed my girl very well and I am happy because my dog is very fussy about eating and they got her to eat. Melinda understood how much I loved and missed my dog, and she treated her like a little princess. Ginger was a little hesitant to come to me when I went to pick her up, she seemed to want to stay with Tyler. I feel comfortable entrusting my dog with them again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
