“In NEED of a dog walker while recovering from foot surgery, I found Alejandro here on Rover. I chose Alejandro after reading many walker profiles and one review stood out which ultimately helped me make the decision. Alejandro has been very easy to work with, I booked for reoccurring walks for the time I am incapacitated, he has a planned vacation in the middle of my needs. We worked out a schedule that would meet both of our needs. After a few days of being laid up, no one was helping with my pups morning walks. Asked Alejandro if he was available to do mornings and he could! What good luck?! Communication has been great, pup is panting and happy when he gets home, and the rate fits my budget. About: I have cared for animals from dogs to horses to chickens since childhood. I have had greyhounds for the last 8 years and am familiar with their idiosyncrasies, but am happy to walk and sit dogs of all shapes and sizes. I am a teacher, so during the summer I have a flexible schedule for sitting and walks. During the school year, I can board for weekends only. My dog is used to 3 walks a day in the neighborhood and an before-bed potty break, with some trips to trails and parks to keep things interesting. I live on a quiet dead-end street. I do not have a yard, but there are lots of sidewalks for neighborhood walks on leash, and a trail in the woods within walking distance. If your dog likes car rides, we can also go for adventures on other trails. I have a friendly, 6 year old greyhound, Turtle, who gets along well with medium and large dogs, so any boarders must play well with others and be up to date on shots, including kennel cough, and parasite screenings!

About: Animals have always been the center of my world, from growing up with pets to pet-sitting countless dogs and cats across NYC. My two cats, August and Ivy, are the absolute loves of my life - My goal is simple: to provide your beloved pets with the exact same high standard of care, safety, and affection that my own two companions receive at home. I work in the office 3 days a week, but I have an hour for lunch and live only 7 min from my office. If close enough I will be able to check in midday as well as morning and after work. I have a fenced yard, though my cats are indoor only I have taken care of my neighbors dogs and enjoy playing fletch for round after round after round. I am organized and will have notes based on what you need for each drop in, will supply pictures, be there on time and stay the whole time. Having used rover myself I know how integral these things are!

About: I’ve taken care of pets my whole life, and especially love taking dogs on walks where they get to lead with their noses. I wish I could get a pet right now but since I can’t, I love helping out other pet owners to get my dog and cat fix! I just moved to Portland and am applying for work in conservation and/or education, so have a very open schedule as I continue my job search. I am usually gone on weekends out in the woods somewhere, but am around the city on weekdays! I cannot host pets in my home, but will happily visit your home and make sure to follow all pet care instructions you leave for me!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs at all stages of life. My experience ranges from young pets to senior care. It’s been an honor. I work part-time from home and have a flexible schedule. I live in close proximity to multiple Portland Trails and our home fronts the Fore River and boarders a sanctuary. I have a fenced yard and a friendly Yellow Lab named Uma, who lives for her next play date. She is respectful of senior dogs and puppies too. There’s lots of room to run around and play.

About: My family has a crazy labradoodle who I love to spend every waking moment with when I’m home, whether it's going for walks, hikes, or even just hanging out and playing at the house. A few years ago we lost my older dog who died at 16 years old. The last few years of her life she needed extensive care so I am very used to taking care of elderly dogs as well. I've been walking dogs around my neighborhoods at home my whole life, and more recently I was a Rover dog walker in college so I have experience with young puppies, older dogs, big dogs, small dogs, etc. I love them all! I am currently a medical student at UNECOM in Portland Maine. I have an extensive study schedule but always looking to get outside and take breaks from the books! I am very flexible in terms of going to other people’s homes or taking the dog somewhere for a walk. Whatever works best for you and your dog

About: I have 10+ years of experience working in the pet-care industry. I have worked both full time and part time as a pet sitter/dog walker. I have familiarity with a large number of breeds and personalities. It doesn't matter if you have multiple animals in your home needing care, or just one. I am currently full time for pet sitting and/or dog walking and available days or nights, including weekends. Mornings, midday, evening, and late night. I will meet with you prior to caring for your pets to go over their routine and care so we are able to keep the same schedule while you are away. The goal is limit stress for both you and your pet during the separation.
