“Viva continues to be fantastic with our little pup, Maple! She is patient and continues training throughout her walks. Viva coming over is Maple’s favorite time of the week!”

“Katey has been so great with Enzo. She gained his trust almost immediately and, in all the pictures you can really tell he’s really at ease with him. She’s also a great communicator and responds promptly. I only wish I’d found her sooner!”

About: Hi there! I’m Chelsea, a fellow pet parent of a dog and cat living in West End. I can take care of your fur-babies when I don’t have a Rover sitter looking after mine. I know the struggle of trying to find a reliable pet sitter. I can drop in on multiple pets for no additional fee. Yes, absolutely send me your detailed explanation of exactly what to do and what your dog or cat likes. I’ll follow your directions to a tee 👌 I work entirely from home Monday-Friday if my calendar is not blocked off, chances are I’ll accept your request. For drop in visits, I’m happy to make arrangements for a meet and greet if schedules allow. Can’t wait to meet your fur children! I work entirely from home and on my own schedule Monday-Friday. I’m happy to pop over to check in and take out your fur child (children) when needed. Nothing is more frustrating than instructions being provided and not followed. Trust me as a mom of a senior dog that takes medication, I’ve been there. Your dog or cat (s) will get exactly what you ask of me and I will take great care of them.
“Trevor went above and beyond while caring for my pups! He was patient, attentive, and made sure they were comfortable and happy the entire time I was away. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such great hands. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker!”

“Rose is fantastic with our dog. Kind, prompt, and compassionate. He’s not the most active guy and can be stubborn and Rose has embraced it all. We are so lucky to have found her.”

“Jesika was such a huge help, always showed up with a smile, my puppy was overjoyed to see her and she was very communicative through our time. Would definitely hire her again.”

About: We love taking care of dogs! We are the go-to pet sitters for our friends and family, and now that we are up in Portland, would love to be the go-to sitter for your pup! We've cared for a range of dogs, from puppies to senior pups, and all sizes in between. We have a wonderful 5-year old rescue pup named Dill. He is extremely sweet and does well with other dogs at the dog park and obedience classes. We request that all dogs that stay with us for doggy day care or boarding are friendly with other dogs. We do have space to keep pups separated for breaks, if needed. We both currently work from home so have extremely flexible schedules. During the week, our evenings are typically spent at home and the weekends are usually open! We currently live in a large 1 bed apartment with our rescue dog Dill. Your pup would be the only additional dog that we care for and we would introduce them to our pup at a comfortable pace! We have a partially-enclosed backyard and are near the Western Promenade for adventures.
About: I am a "retired" (career change) veterinary nurse with over 7 years of professional experience, along with 25 years of personal experience caring for creatures of all shapes and sizes. I am comfortable taking care of your furry family members of any age, or health status. I can easily and happily draw up and administer medications orally, or by injection. I have experience handling cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, and horses. I have my own special needs elderly kitty, which means I completely understand how important routines are for them. I can comfortably walk your dogs of any size, but any dog over 65lbs must be well behaved on a leash. I will keep you up to date with photos and updates of your fur baby while you're out of town. I am reliable, and easily reachable. I will provide you and your pets with the highest standard of care. I currently work full time Monday through Friday 8-4:30, but I work from home 3 days a week and can provide potty breaks and walks on my lunch breaks on those days, as well as visits before and after work if need be. All pet care will take place in your home, as I do not have the room or pets that are comfortable with others coming into their home. This also limits the amount of stress your loved one goes through during this time.
About: I’ve always had dogs in my life since I was a little kid. Unfortunately, my current residence doesn’t allow me to have any of my own. I am an avid runner and mountain biker, and would love to help out local pet parents by tiring your pups out! I am a merchant marine, meaning I go out to sea to work for long periods of time. I am home for equally as long periods, with nothing but free time! I am very familiar with working with pets of all needs. I worked at a kennel for 4 years and cared for dogs and cats with all sorts of special medical requirements.
“Mae is fantastic! She’s amazing with my 80 pound shepherd and little golden doodle. She was open to whatever routine was best for my dogs with ball playing and walks, and is a positive, helpful part of our daily routine. Highly recommend!”

About: I am an active and reliable pet lover with somewhat flexible hours, as I work from home most days. I own a fantastic Standard Edition Tabby cat and live in Portland. I grew up with a slightly senile Jack Russel, so not much can phase me. I also had a yellow lab, so I love slobber and big dogs with lots of energy. My parents currently have a rescue from Puerto Rico, who I helped train and care for. She's fun and energetic, but can be anxious and reactive to particular things due to a traumatic puppy-hood. I have experience with unpredictable dogs, so long as they are not aggressive. I love all pets! I'm looking to make some extra money while having an excuse to take a walk or visit with a furry friend. I work from home most days so I'm looking to help with midday or afternoon walks. I can also do drop in visits before and after work. My schedule varies, but I'm typically able to make something work. I'm used to dogs that have some sort of trauma, and I'm very cautious and gentle. I understand that not all dogs are dog friendly, and I am respectful of their needs. I love to play with pets (if they want to), and I can go for a long or short walk.
About: I love dogs in the usual ways people do, cuteness, friendships, and cuddles but I also find dogs to be amazing and believe that there is so much more that humans can learn from our canine companions. From walking my neighbors dogs as a kid, to having family dogs growing up, I've always been curious to what kinds of thoughts are going through the dogs mind. An emotionally difficult experience was taking care of my family's shiba inu as he started getting older and dealing with multiple tumors in his body. It was painful to watch a dog that would always put up a fight to trim his nails not budge when I was cleaning the abscesses he had developed as a result of his cancers. I'm currently a medical student and know that it would be irresponsible for me to have a pet because I wouldn't be able to give them the love and attention that they deserve. But I'm happy to look out for other peoples pets while they attend to other part of their lives. I'm in medical school and so I have a few mandatory classes but most of my learning is independent at my computer as I study for the national exam. All my weekends are free. I think the most important thing is safety first. And the easy way to go about that is to thoroughly touch base with the owner. I'll ask a lot of questions in order to try to mimic what the routine is for the four legged friend so that there isn't a big shift in the everyday flow. I also understand if it takes a while for dogs/cats to warm up to a stranger so I take a slow and steady approach.
“Harrison is great with our pup Lola. He walks her every week and has house sat for us on several occasions. We've always come back to a clean house and happy dog. Harrison great with communication and keeps us updated with photos and short texts. We and our pup are very happy to have met Harrison!”

“Candace was amazing! Helped me with my dog Ben while I started a new job and made my new hours so much less stressful know she could be there! Super responsive and quick replies. Highly recommend!”
Valley Street dog parents share their Rover experiences
Jill gave my dog, Finn, an amazing day when I had to travel for work. I always hate to leave him for long stretches of time, but I didn't have to worry at all because Jill gave him walks, took him to the beach, and even kept him company! When I came back from my long day of traveling, Finn was happy and tired from having a great day. Grateful to Jill for taking such excellent care of him!

Gabriel is a great Dogwalker! He communicates well, he’s prompt and he’s fantastic with our two senior whippets. They always seem happy when we come home from work because he takes them on long leisurely walks and gives them the attention they crave. I highly recommend him!

Danny was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond to treat my dog like his own dog. We have been going to the same dog park for a while and I can't think of anyone better to help give you dog exercise. He was always timely - and my dog can often be a lot of energy, but it was no problem for Danny. He is phenomenal with dogs, of any kind, and extremely trustworthy. I truly can not recommend him more.
