“Super impressed! Billy is blind and Maggie is recovering from a sprain. I felt like I had the dog whisperer in my house. She is so clean!! She literally pulled the sheets off the bed before she left.”

“Great experience with Alex! Communicative and flexible when booking, thoughtful and accommodating to my pup’s needs, and her warm and caring spirit quickly put both my anxious dog and I at ease ☺️”

About: I've had dogs my entire life, I love spending time with them. I currently work at a dog daycare so am familiar with caring for dogs of all sizes and temperments, I would love to take care of your pets! I currently work at a doggy daycare part time, so am completely free during the week for any per care needs that you may have! I'm familiar with dogs of all types and their wellbeing is most important to me. I always make sure they are fed and go on walks and I love to play with them if that's something they're interested in!
About: I have working experience starting at 13 years old at a boarding kennel, so I’ve seen it all! Have worked with dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and special needs. Keenly aware that each pet has individual personalities, routines, and quirks. Will treat your dog(s) as my own (aside from taking naps together) — I really mean it! I make my own schedule as a leasing agent, so I can easily fit pet care into the week! I’m out and about in the city often, so planning to drop by and spend time with your pets is no problem with my line of work! Any questions or concerns? I’m here to make sure you and your pets are comfortable as possible, so don’t hesitate to ask! Will leave your home as I found it (or better)! Will of course follow all instructions (administer meds, wash & refill food/water bowls, etc) and in addition can bring in mail, water plants, and take out trash if needed.
“Mads did a great job taking care of our German Shepherd! They stayed with him for a weekend while we went out of town. It was our first time hiring a pet sitter to stay at our house so we were a little bit nervous but Mads did a meet and greet with us which made us feel at ease and Courage loved them right away. Courage also has dietary requirements and needs meds with meals and Mads did a great job with everything and sent us pictures/little updates every day. We will definitely be booking them again next time we need to go out of town!”

“Jamie was amazing! She took great care of Riley, spending a lot of quality time with her. She sent lots of photos throughout our time away, and quick to respond, which is super helpful to ease any anxiety. We highly recommend using Jamie!”

About: In college i took classes specifically on animals health, with specific focuses on pets. - their behaviors, needs and how to best care for them. I've always had an animal in my life. I grew up helping taking care of my family's dogs and in college my roommates and I got a cat. Since graduating college I haven't been able to have a pet and wanted to become a sitter to continue to have animals in my life. I'm a recent college graduate, currently looking for a full time job so I'm quite flexible. I'm available between 8AM-7PM, Monday through Sunday and can also be available for overnight pet sitting if needed. I believe in leaving a space as clean as when you came, caring for the pet and taking care of any possible messes. After taking care of both cats and dogs, I believe in giving them lots of play time and engagement. Given any specific health needs, I can medicate and care for (and carry if necessary) pets up to 30lbs.

“Katherine was the absolute best! I felt so comfortable leaving my fur babies with her and she did an amazing job keeping me updated with photos and notes. I’ll use her again for sure!”

“Samantha is top notch. Cannot speak more highly of her. She’s loving, super responsible and agile at tackling unexpected hurdles. I feel utterly confident leaving my pooch and my house in her care.”

“Josephine is WONDERFUL. Highly recommend. My dog Bodhi loved spending a few days with her. She is communicative, sends lovely pictures, and takes amazing care of your dog. I will be a repeated customer, if she will have us ;)”

“Andre is so nice! And communicates well! And receptive to what I needed for my dog and my cat! But most importantly, coming home, I’ve never seen the two animals this relaxed and chill after I left them for several days. That told me all I need to know!”

“Bethany successfully watched our labs for 12 nights while we traveled overseas. She was communicative throughout the week with photos and updates. We came home to two perfectly happy, healthy dogs and would gladly book her again in the future. She’s great !!”

“We’re so thankful to Meg for her attention to detail and excellent communication while we were on an extended road trip. Due to our recent cross country move, our cat was a bit hesitant to socialize, but as a result of Meg’s patience and creativity, Yada came out of her shell! Our dog leans anxious and we’re confident she barely noticed we were gone. Not only that but Meg also left our home in pristine condition. 11/10!”

“Destiny is the best pet sitter we’ve worked with in 12 years of having a dog in our family. She is beyond - beyond kind, beyond helpful, beyond amazing with out nervous rescue dog, and a joy to work with. We needed a dog sitter one evening, as our dog still can’t be left alone, and she responded the same day, willing to help. She really saved us, and our dog didn’t want her to leave when it was time to say goodbye! We are so excited to keep working with her. We booked additional evenings before we left. She is a total gem. We suggest getting on her client list while she has space. Once you work with her, she’ll be your go-to as well.”

“My elderly calico was very happy with Desiree‘s care. I came home from a short vacation to find a happy cat at a spotless apartment thank you, Desiree. I would recommend you to anyone.”

“Dylan was amazing with our Dobermans Storm and Damen!!! He stayed with them in our home and not only was he great with them and they loved him. Thank you and we will definitely be reaching out to Dylan again!!!”

“Emily is communicative, trustworthy, and compassionate. During her first stay with our dog and two cats, she handled a vet emergency responsibly and with grace. We’re very happy to recommend her services!”

“Kayleigh took excellent care of our kitties that needed oral meds and subcutaneous fluids. She administered all meds without issue. She was professional, communicative, and great with the cats! Will book again”

Claudia is a fantastic match for my girls. She recently stayed over night with them and it went great. The girls warmed up to her when they met for a meet and greet and then they enjoyed her staying the night. I highly recommend Claudia to take care of your pups needs.

Gail was AMAZING!! She stayed at our home and was so communicative and flexible and took great care of our 2 golden retrievers while we were away! She sent pictures and made sure our boys were well loved and taken care with walks, playtime and spent quality time with them! She also made sure to water my plants and bring in the mail and kept our house clean and tidy while we were away. We HIGHLY recommend Gail and we will definitely be calling her again the next time we go out of town!!! Thanks again Gail for all your help and taking care of our fur babies!!!

Jenna was great with my dogs including my somewhat prickly bigger dog. She was able to connect with him quickly and that made me so happy and comfortable that they were both being well taken care of. She sent great pictures of them. Communication was great and she was able to navigate some complexity in our meet and greet with good communication throughout. Thanks, Jenna!

OUR DOGS LOVE HEATHER!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I mean there’s not really much else to say. Heather is kind, responsible and takes care of our babies when we’re away like they’re her own. When we get home the house is cleaned up, laundry done and the dogs kinda act like they’ve been to camp rather than left alone. I can’t recommend her enough and neither can Oakley and Ainslie!!!
Annabel was an excellent dog sitter at our house while we were on vacation. She took great care of our dog and sent daily text messages with cute pictures of her playing, cuddling, walking our pet. She provided excellent input on her mood and progress while we were away. She is kind and attentive to details. We returned to a clean home and happy dog!

I seriously can’t recommend Bishop enough! They were so sweet, communicative, and took such amazing care of our boys. You could tell they genuinely cared about the pets and our home. They even stripped the sheets and somehow left the house feeling cleaner than we left it! They went above and beyond, and we’ll absolutely be booking with them again/recommending to friends and family.

Casey is the best! She takes such good care of our dog and cat. She's so proactive about communicating and sends lots of great photos, videos and stories about our pets. She's especially kind and loving to our stubborn pittie mix, taking her on nice long walks. I feel very relaxed, knowing that Casey is taking care of my pets and house while I'm away. Highly recommend!

Jessica always goes above and beyond for our three kitties while house sitting. Jessica has great communication, leaves our house in pristine condition, and sends us photos/videos every day. Our kitties are happy, healthy, & comfortable with Jessica and upon our return. We really trust her and would recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lincolnwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lincolnwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lincolnwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lincolnwood. On Rover:

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
