“Joanna was great! She sent photos throughout the stay and made sure our babies were taken care of! Gave us peace of mind to know the fur kids had someone around while we were out of town. They love a cuddle and Joanna obliged! :)”

“Coleen is the best sitter in the business. She always gives us the peace of mind we need to enjoy our time away, and has never once let us down. She handles all our pets medications with ease. She takes such great care of our ederly pup, as well as our skiddish cat. Do yourself the favor and book Coleen.”

“Diane is a gem! We have 2 Little Havanese pups and When she comes over, she sits on the floor so the dogs get comfy. She obviously loves dogs. We were traveling for 4 days and She sent us photos everyday with a short text of what they did. Also-when we got home -the condo was pristine. We will be happy to contract her again!”

About: Hi! My name is heather and I am a total dog and cat lover! No matter the breed, age or quirky personalities I love them all. I used to volunteer at a shelter in Iowa where I spent most of my time keeping the immuno-compromised cats and dogs company as they had to be isolated from the others in the shelter. Since then, I’ve trained my own dogs to be potty trained outside and be comfortable riding in cars. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for over 10 years. The longest I’ve cat sat was for 10 days and left a personal “journal” for the owners from the cats point of view. The longest I’ve dog sat was 7 days. I love walking dogs, The longer the walk the better so when mom and dad come home they are ready for all the cuddles. I'm bubbly and have been told I'm "high energy" so I love to play with animals but also know when it's time to just relax and be couch potatoes while watching Animal Planet. I've taken care of special needs dogs who are leash aggressive, I've worked with senior dogs who move a little more leisurely and I've worked with puppies - helping them get acclimated to walking with a leash and harness. I’m working full time as a physical therapist but am available to care for your loved furry friend Wednesdays and Fridays after 2:30. I am available Sundays after 1pm. I have a fenced back yard and my little guy loves to run around and chase leaves. Loves to sniff every twig. For my past clients I take their dogs for long walks in their neighborhood, sometimes run with them on lease if they have a ton of energy. I have the animal earn my trust first, put my hands out to sniff, allow them to approach me as I am a guest in their home. I love to lay on the floor with them, let them know I am a trusted friend.
“Loren is so wonderful with our dog while we are away. She is responsive and sends updates! We are able to enjoy some vacation knowing that our doggo is in good hands withe Loren!”

“Veronica stayed at our house overnight to watch our dog Maggie for a week. She sent lots of updates and was very responsive. She offered to take out our trash on garbage day and left our house spotless. We will surely use her again!”

About: Hello, my name is Hannah. I am a part time art instructor and online Art Therapy student. I prioritize attentiveness and timeliness in my teaching as well as dog walking and sitting. I love all animals, have dog walked locally on and off since I was in middle school, and have had a dog of my own for 10 years. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. I am an active person and look forward to taking your pet on frequent walks, or even runs! I’m currently working part-time and attending online school, so I have a lot of availability for overnight dog sitting, as well as many walks and drop-ins throughout the day. Besides a few mid-day classes and teaching the occasional night class, my schedule allows me to be very flexible. I treat all pets the way I would want my own dog, Sailor, to be treated. Your pets safety and happiness are my top priorities! I aim to create a stress free experience for you, and a fun experience for your pet.

“Liz took great care of our dog, Ruby, over a long weekend. We got regular photo and message updates and it looked like everyone had a great time. Ruby loved snuggling with Liz all weekend! We would definitely recommend Liz if you need a friendly, professional, experienced sitter!”

“Jo went well above and beyond while house sitting with our pup. Our senior dog had become a bit anxious with summer thunderstorms (and was probably sad to be separated from his little brother for our trip), but Jo picked up some extra supplies from her home. She distracted him with enrichment games, like a snuffle mat and licking pad. And of course gave him lots of good love along the way. Like many other reviews noted, she took good care of our home leaving it cleaner than she found it.”

“Tanisa is the best! She watched my 2 dog boys at my house for the weekend and it couldn't have been more perfect. Even my skittish, near-sighted husky mix sat in her lap! We can't wait to have her again!”

“First time using Rover and we blown away with the love and care that Stephanie gave to our girls! The dogs were so happy and well cared for, and so was our home. I honestly believe the home looked better when we came home, than how we left it! I highly recommend her services - we will definitely use her again!!!”

“Hanna was wonderful! She was responsive and took great care of our senior dog, including giving her medication on time and bring super patient on her slow walks. She stayed in our home and left everything even better than when we left. We would definitely use her again!”

“Anana took wonderful care of my dogs. Communication between us was excellent and my dogs were clearly taken excellent care of while I was away She also left my house in perfect condition. Highly recommend.”

“Adam took such great care of our boys so we could enjoy our trip out of town! We are thankful for his communication, professionalism, and kindness towards our dogs and house! We highly recommend Adam!”

Chris is a true gem!!! I fully recommend him to anyone and everyone. Chris watched my 2 cats and dog for our 10 day trip. I received multiple photos every day as well as a daily recap on the happenings of the house. Chris is an excellent communicator and went above and beyond!!!

Veronica was an amazing sitter for my two dogs while the family and I were on a summer vacation. My puppy Shadow is new to me and gets into EVERYTHING. She has to be crated or monitored 24/7. Veronica paid great attention to her and communicated any unavoidable incidents promptly. Upon returning home, Shadow is calmer and more responsive to commands—better now than when I left thanks to Veronica. My special needs pitty had no new scrapes and was able to sleep in bed with her each night making the transition nearly seamless. Veronica administered medication for soft poops/diarrhea that started in BOTH dogs the day before we left and had to complaints making the puppy’s complicated fresh food dinner. We will absolutely be using Veronica in the near future for any sitting walking or boarding needs, we are all lucky to have met her :)

Danielle was fantastic and took wonderful care of my two big dogs. She was able to fill in at short notice and kept us updated the entire time. She is punctual, thorough with care instructions, and kept the house in great shape. Will definitely re-book in the future!

Alexandra was the perfect match for our dog. He can have pretty bad separation anxiety, but I didn’t have to worry about him with Alexandra. She stayed with him an entire week and was very patient and understanding. She was super punctual, professional, and communicative. She sent me frequent pictures and texts and always responding quickly to messages. We came home to a happy and calm pup and a clean house! Would highly recommend her!

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,271 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Norridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Norridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Norridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
