“Heather is always an absolute delight to have watch our two dogs. They are so excited to see her, even though they are picky with their people! She spends extra time and gives them so much love.”

“Ray is an excellent guy. He's always available and I trust him 100% with my dog. I went on a trip to Panama City for 4 days and he took care of my pup. He asked all the right questions. Took notes and took my dog to some great places and sent me pics all the time. Don't hesitate to book Ray if you have the opportunity!!!”

“Karina did a great job taking care of my kitties as usual. Additionally, she went above and beyond in taking care of my many plants while I was away. I was happy to return home to well taken care of kitties and thriving plants.”

“Fantastic loving care for my 2 dogs! I have a shy senior rescue and a skittish young dog who both take time to warm up to strangers. We scheduled basic check ins/potty breaks over 4 days that they had to be home alone for 8+ hrs each day. The meet and greet went really well and was easy to set up. Each day my pups received a full 30 minutes of attention and loving care. I received MANY photos and videos as well as really awesome communication and updates. Thank you!”

About: **PLEASE NOTE: I love exploring new areas and am happy to travel farther for overnight and house-sitting bookings. For stays located more than 30 miles away from my home, a small travel adjustment may apply depending on distance and length of stay.** INTRO: I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs through daily walks, drop-ins, and longer stays — from high-energy breeds to shy or anxious pups who need a softer approach. I’m very attentive to details, routines, and behavior changes, and I always make sure each dog feels safe and understood. My weekly routine is very flexible, which makes pet care easy to build around. I split my time between volunteer work, errands, and studying at the library, and I schedule those things around my pet visits. Because of that flexibility, I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening walks. When I’m doing dog-sitting, I structure my day around the dog’s routine — feeding, bathroom breaks, playtime, and whatever helps them feel comfortable. I’m used to adjusting my schedule so pets get the consistency and care they’re used to. Their routine becomes my routine. I follow the pet’s routine exactly as the owner lays it out. Every dog is different, so I match their needs — feeding schedule, walk times, bathroom breaks, and any special instructions. I keep the home clean, make sure doors and crates are secured, and always double-check leashes, harnesses, and gates before we go out. I pay close attention to behavior and energy levels, especially with anxious dogs or seniors, and I give them plenty of reassurance and calm company. I send updates and photos during each visit so owners feel confident and connected while they’re away. My goal is to make the pet feel safe in their own space and keep everything running smoothly until their family comes home.
“Coleen was super professional and really helped us out when we needed a last minute dog walker. Frankie immediately warmed up to Coleen and she had a natural ease with him. I felt totally confident the walk would go well and it did. We’re so thankful and I will definitely be calling Coleen again!”

“We recently went out of town for the first time since adopting our kittens and were so worried about leaving them. Chris was so attentive and made sure to send us detailed updates and photos. She followed our instructions without any issues and our house was in perfect order when we got back. Her care and attention was next level and we will definitely be asking her to cat sit again.”

Growing up with dogs has taught me how to understand their different personalities, needs, and routines. I regularly care for my family's dogs whenever my parents are out of town, handling daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and providing companionship. In addition, I have cared for dogs and other pets for family members and friends while they travel. I take pride in being dependable, attentive, and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with dogs, my reliability, and the genuine care I provide to every animal I look after. I treat every pet as if they were my own and work hard to maintain their normal routine so they feel happy and secure. As a Physical Therapy student, my weekdays can be busy with classes and studying, but caring for animals remains an important part of my daily routine. Every day, I make sure my pets are fed before I leave for school and again when I return home. I also stay on top of responsibilities such as cleaning the litter box and making sure all of my animals are comfortable and well cared for. My weekends are much more flexible, allowing me to dedicate additional time and attention to pet care. Because I balance a demanding academic schedule with caring for my own pets, I am organized, responsible, and committed to maintaining consistent routines. Pet owners can trust that their animals will receive dependable care, attention, and affection while they are away. When caring for pets in a client's home, my top priorities are safety, trust, and maintaining a comfortable environment for the pet. For dog walks, I will ensure dogs are securely leashed, remain aware of our surroundings, and provide exercise appropriate for their age and energy level. During drop-in visits, I will make sure pets have fresh food and water, clean up after them as needed, and spend quality time giving them attention and companionship. I treat every home with respect and every pet as if they were my own. I am dependable, attentive to details, and committed to keeping owners updated so they can feel confident that their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while they are away.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Norridge
Keri was so great with our 4 cats. She took such great care of them. There were some detailed feeding instructions and she followed them completely. She opened the windows for the cats while she was there (weather permitting per my request)so they could watch the birds. When out wifi went out she helped us out with rebooting the router. She was able to get the visits in when the weather was really bad. Great communication and we loved the daily pics she sent. She was so wonderful with our cats, we could not have been happier.

We had Nicholas care for our dog and four cats while we were away, including administering medication twice daily for one of our cats. Overall, he was reliable and made sure everyone was fed, cared for, and safe. We appreciated the photos and updates during visits. Our dog did get spooked during one walk due to a loud car and had a harder time going out after that, so more backyard time was used. There was an accident during one of the visits, which he handled and cleaned up, and we appreciated that. Overall, we’re grateful our pets were well cared for and would book again.

We had a great experience with Jackie. She came to our home daily to feed and check on our cat. Jackie was always on time, reliable, kind and cared about making sure our cat was comfortable and well taken care of. We loved seeing pictures she sent. Her son played with our cat which made us so happy and reassured that our cat was getting extra love and attention. It gave us a real peace of mind when we were away. We would definitely recommend her and happily book her again!

My cat received caring and helpful attention from Kara, the cat sitter. Especially when, as she is so friendly, kitty Francine did let her approach! It's the first time ever in this former hoarding victim's life, a stranger was allowed to see, and photograph, Francine! Thank you so much Kara!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Norridge. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
