About: I unfortunately wasn’t allowed to have pets until I was older. I adopted my first pet (a cat) at 19 and she’s still with me! With the addition of 5 other cats as well since my family moved in with me😭. Although 2 of those cats are technically not mine, but one of family members, I still care for them all the same. I have also fostered kittens before and helped potty train them as well as bottle fed them. I have some experience giving medication to my cats for a short time; no long term medications as of now. —————————————————— I have pet sit for my friends whom are mostly fellow cat owners. For them, they usually just ask me to drop by during the day or evening to feed and change their litter and spend some time around them. I’ve taken care of my friends dog who doesn’t go on walks, so I would let her out in my friends yard to use the bathroom and then she’d come right back in to lay on the couch. I have several family members that are dog owners and I’ve been around them playing with them and occasionally went on walks with them or helped feeding them. But I’ve never officially taken care of them with out the owners being there. ——————————————— Although I am more of a cat person, I do get along with dogs! With cats I have 6 or so years of experience and with dogs I have about 2 years of experience. When visiting your home, I will take care of your home and leave things as they were!! If there any instructions you would like for me to follow, I will gladly read them, whether that’s for the fur babies or the house itself! I’m currently working part time so my schedule is pretty flexible and since my family currently lives with me they help take care of my own cats if I leave town. I typically work Wednesday and Friday afternoons and I’m free after 5:30pm, I do work weekends but I’m normally available after 4:00 pm and can stay overnight if needed. I’m normally off Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can come by more during those days, but any day during the week I can fit in dropping by, specially in the afternoons! Since I currently live with family and 6 cats I understand most other pets might not immediately get along with 6 new animals, so I can always drop by or stay at your place to take care of your fur babies!
“Joanna was great! So sweet with my clingy dogs! Kept me updated throughout my trip and my dogs love her. She’s extremely knowledgeable about dogs and that put me at ease instantly. It was a great experience- I definitely recommend!”

“Diane continues to be our most favorite, go-to sitter! Our dog is always happy and calm when we come home, she communicates thoroughly throughout the day, and I have 100% confidence that our dog is cared for & loved!”

“Loren made our first experience with Rover a great one! She was punctual, responsive, and very respectful throughout the entire stay. We really appreciated the photo updates during house sitting, and she took such wonderful care of Odie. We’re so glad we booked with her—thank you so much, Loren! Hope to see you again soon!”

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats my entire life, and caring for animals has always been a large part of who I am. I currently have 4 dogs and 4 cats all of different breeds, sizes, and personalities therefore I am comfortable caring for pets with a variety of needs. I have experience giving medication, following feeding schedules, and making sure each pet gets the attention and care they deserve. I also enjoy spending time outside and going for walks. I’m currently a full time pre-nursing student and work PRN as a switchboard operator at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Because of my flexible schedule, I’m able to accommodate a variety of pet care needs, including drop in visits, walks, overnight stays, and some last-minute bookings whenever possible. My school schedule is subject to change and being PRN shifts could pop up here and there but I am very flexible and willing to work around what ever possibly comes up. In the aspect of my school schedule I have classes mon/tue/thur/fri. Monday and Friday 11am-12:30pm, Tuesday 9:30am-2:20pm and Thursday 8am-2:20pm. Safety and comfort are a priority to me. Each animal has their own personalities and day to day activities. I would like to know what your pet likes, whether it be extra playing time, going for walks, or even extra attention to make sure they feel the most comfortable at home. I am also comfortable crating a dog if it is needed.
“She was amazing! She came super last minute and spent a lot of time with my dog. I had a bad experience right before her and she took the extra time to be with him and got him to eat. I would totally recommend her and use her again. Thank you!”

About: Hi! My name is heather and I am a total dog and cat lover! No matter the breed, age or quirky personalities I love them all. I used to volunteer at a shelter in Iowa where I spent most of my time keeping the immuno-compromised cats and dogs company as they had to be isolated from the others in the shelter. Since then, I’ve trained my own dogs to be potty trained outside and be comfortable riding in cars. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for over 10 years. The longest I’ve cat sat was for 10 days and left a personal “journal” for the owners from the cats point of view. The longest I’ve dog sat was 7 days. I love walking dogs, The longer the walk the better so when mom and dad come home they are ready for all the cuddles. I'm bubbly and have been told I'm "high energy" so I love to play with animals but also know when it's time to just relax and be couch potatoes while watching Animal Planet. I've taken care of special needs dogs who are leash aggressive, I've worked with senior dogs who move a little more leisurely and I've worked with puppies - helping them get acclimated to walking with a leash and harness. I’m working full time as a physical therapist but am available to care for your loved furry friend Wednesdays and Fridays after 2:30. I am available Sundays after 1pm. I have a fenced back yard and my little guy loves to run around and chase leaves. Loves to sniff every twig. For my past clients I take their dogs for long walks in their neighborhood, sometimes run with them on lease if they have a ton of energy. I have the animal earn my trust first, put my hands out to sniff, allow them to approach me as I am a guest in their home. I love to lay on the floor with them, let them know I am a trusted friend.
“Nicholas is hands‑down the best dog sitter my wife and I have ever had on Rover. Truly exceptional. He isn’t just dependable and courteous — he treats our dog with a level of care, enthusiasm, and commitment that blew us away. Our dog has literally walked farther with Nicholas than with anyone else. His average walks were over two hours, and he kept our pup happy, stimulated, and joyfully exhausted every single time. We were amazed by his dedication. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and our dog absolutely adored him. I honestly can’t put into words how incredible Nicholas was. Thank you, Nicholas — you set the bar unbelievably high.”

About: As a proud pet owner myself, I know that our animals aren't just pets—they are cherished members of the family. I take immense pride and honor in providing the highest level of care, backed by decades of hands-on experience. My background includes over 15 years of experience working with German Shepherd/Sheep Herd dogs, understanding their unique loyalty, energy, and intelligence. Additionally, I have 28 years of dedicated experience caring for felines—both male and female indoor cats—giving me a deep understanding of their diverse personalities, needs, and behaviors. When your pets are with me, they will receive the same fierce love, respect, and attentive care that I give to my very own. My daily life revolves around my own vibrant pet family: one high-energy German Shepherd and three indoor cats. Managing this household has taught me the art of a perfect routine—balancing the physical and mental stimulation needed for intelligent herd breeds with the quiet, structured care that felines thrive on. From morning walks and puzzle toys for large breeds to meticulous litter box maintenance and separate feeding schedules for multiple cats, pet care is seamlessly integrated into my everyday routine. I know exactly what it takes to keep a multi-pet home safe, organized, and filled with love, and I am excited to bring that same dedicated, expert care to your beloved animals! As a dedicated pet provider, safety isn't just a checkbox for me—it is the foundation of how I manage my home and routine. I believe that a predictable, structured environment combined with purposeful engagement is key to keeping animals secure, happy, and stress-free. Secure & Supervised Environments: To ensure total safety, my cats remain strictly indoors at all times, protected from outside hazards. When out in the beauty of nature, dogs are strictly kept on a leash to guarantee full control and security. Confidence-Building Playtime: I know that cats thrive on mental stimulation just as much as dogs do. Structured playtime with felines is a priority in my home because it burns excess energy, prevents stress, and—most importantly—builds their confidence and security in their environment. Structured Rest & Crate Comfort: I respect an animal's need for boundaries and decompression. If a dog needs downtime to relax or reset, I utilize crate training as a safe, positive haven for them to unwind. Proactive Health & Bloat Prevention: Having deep experience with large breeds, I am hyper-aware of digestive health. All meals are served on a strict, timely schedule. Furthermore, I enforce mandatory, quiet rest periods immediately after eating to prevent any digestive discomfort or dangerous conditions like bloat. When you trust me with your pets, you are getting an environment rooted in vigilance, confidence-building routine, and a deep respect for animal wellness.

“Dylan was amazing with our Dobermans Storm and Damen!!! He stayed with them in our home and not only was he great with them and they loved him. Thank you and we will definitely be reaching out to Dylan again!!!”

“Miguel could not have possibly been better. He took great care of all 3 of my dogs as well as I do. He kept me up to date with messages and pictures and videos. I will use Miguel every time if at all possible.”

“Katalina gave us great peace of mind watching our dog Avery. She gave regular updates and pictures of our pup, and she was clear and friendly in her communication. Such a professional who wants to make sure your fur baby is taken care ofb”

“Liz did great !! Pups were happy & well cared for!! I wouldn’t say my dogs are hard, but I also wouldn’t say they’re the easiest. I have a five year old pup that has a lot of energy and anxiety and a 13-year-old who has G.I. issues & bone cancer. Liz did a wonderful job with both of them & I came home to wiggle butts & a clean house !! Communication was great & I’d definitely hire again!”

A wonderful house and cat sitter! We were worried about our 6/7 week old kitten but Eren was able to help care for our kitten. We came back to a clean litter box and a happy cat! She even helped with her claws and was careful with her, and we are so grateful both our home and cat were safe with her. Highly recommend!

Danielle was fantastic and took wonderful care of my two big dogs. She was able to fill in at short notice and kept us updated the entire time. She is punctual, thorough with care instructions, and kept the house in great shape. Will definitely re-book in the future!

As of August 2026, there are 8,156 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Schiller Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Schiller Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Schiller Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Schiller Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
