“Michelle and her family took excellent care of my nervous pup. She went above and beyond making him comfortable, giving him lots of walks, and even gave him a bath when he needed it. Would definitely book again!”

“Shirley is super sitter. Sent me cool slo mo vid of my pooch playing tricks. I was traveling thru and wanted to go to show in Chicago. She came to motel and picked up Bella. Highly recommend Shirley !!”

“Thank you Lyn and your family for a great job taking care of our Walter. We really appreciate all you expertise with dogs and we'll be bringing back Walter again soon. Thank you A+”

“Bailey is a dog whisperer. She took care of our poodle mix over the holiday and was extremely communicative and sent pics and videos/ so that we knew he was in good hands. She is so sweet and has a genuine understanding and love for dogs. Highly recommend! !”

“Corinne cared for our Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier like he was her own! Every picture she sent me, he had his tongue out, smiling. She gave frequent updates and even stayed up all night with him, when he had an upset stomach. We will definitely be back.”

“Our two girls, Elizabeth and Scout, were cared for wonderfully by Suzanne. On our first meet and great prior to boarding, our girls took to Suzanne immediately, this was GREAT to see since we booked a sixteen night stay! Elizabeth needed to have oral medication twice daily and Suzanne was happy to make sure Elizabeth's needs were met. We were pleased with how well our girls got along with Suzanne's new puppy, Harley ?, and her fenced-in yard provided a safe outdoor space for our girls to hang out. Suzanne was great at sending photos and videos, to keep us updated on how our girls were doing throughout our trip. When we picked our dogs up, we found two very happy girls, that had a great time in Suzanne's care. We highly recommend Suzanne for your dog sitting or boarding needs, as she really seems to have a way with dogs.????”

About: I am a sound healer, wife, mother to my toddler and animals. My husband is a city of chicago worker and we love the chicago area :) We are very active and love to go on long walks and love being outside with our dogs! I absolutely adore cats and love to spend time feeding the feral cats in my neighborhood. In my spare time I also love to go to the local park with my daughter to watch the squirrels and birds. I love nature. I am good with all types of animals and they love me! We have 2 dogs and 3 cats, and some chickens in our backyard. Our dogs are very friendly and love making new friends whenever they can. I truly love watching and meeting new animals and enjoy this type of work. Your pet will love and I cannot wait to meet and take care of them. Please reach out so I can help you with your pet needs! My schedule is open and flexible. My sound healing job varies but typically does not get in the way of pet sitting/ dog walking. Most days I am at home with my toddler or we are out exploring the parks. We have many pets in our home that we care for. I love to work with lists to help me to ensure all tasks are completed and that I am organized.

“Our pup had a great time during her stay with Camille. She was very welcoming, took Gigi on nice walks through the neighborhood, and kept us updated with daily photos.”

“Diana and her family were so wonderful to our puppy, Obi! I was so appreciative of the updates and pictures of our puppy since this was the first time we have ever used a dog sitter. Obi even seemed sad when we got home since he bonded so much with one of their dogs! We will for sure reach out to Diana whenever we are going to travel again. Thanks Diana!!”

“Absolutely outstanding communication and wonderful care provided for my dog overnight. Would recommend Arlene in a heartbeat to those looking for someone to care for their pet.”

“Elva was great with our senior dog. She treated her like her own, she sent us updates everyday with pictures/videos. We felt comfortable and at ease on our vacation and will use Elva again for future vacations. Our dog is pooped from her vacation away from us. Thank you again!!”

“Erica took fabulous care of my Duke. She treated him like he was her own dog. I truly appreciated how responsive she was when I would check in to see how the day was going. I would highly recommend Ericka and will be using her again.”

“Svetlana is awesome! She accommodated my last minute request (holiday request) and was so fast with communication (also so flexible with timing). I also loved the daily updates with photos. She took great care of my little guy and explained all the details of his bevahiour which helps me with his training. He definitely had a good time. I would recommend her highly to anyone and would for sure bring my guy back again. Thanks so much Svetlana!”
“1st time leaving my dog with complete strangers but when I tell you, it was the best decision we made. When I walked into their home to dropped my dog off, there was such a calmness I felt, all nervousness disappeared immediately. My dog was loved and well taken care of, we got daily updates and pictures from the family. I will 100% have them sit my dog again.”

“This was our second stay for our grumpy old man with Tanya. It is SUCH a relief to have a reliable caregiver and safe place to stay for our sweet boy when we are (way) out of town. He has such a great time and adores all the attention he gets - I don't know that he's particularly happy to come home! Thank you, Tanya, and I'm sure we'll see you soon!”

“Jenny was very lovely to work with! She was able to take a last minute booking for me, and took care of my doggo while I was on a business trip. She was always responsive, and frequently updated me on how my dog was doing in her care (messages, photos, etc). I will definitely be working with her again!”

“Ian took SUCH good care of my 1.5 year old bernedoodle for 3 weeks when I was traveling for work. I had so much peace of mind knowing my pup was getting lots of care, play time and super long, scenic walks every day! Ian was super communicative and sent pictures of Banksy multiple times a day, which I very much appreciated. He told me about the couple of other dogs that he watched as well and how Banksy got along with each. Ian really is thoughtful about how the dogs interact together and makes sure they have safe, supervised play and will give them space, if needed. I know Banks absolutely LOVED being there and was sad to leave! I will 100% be reaching out to Ian the next time I go out of town.”

“Andria did such a wonderful job watching Oliver! She took care of him for a little over two weeks while I was on vacation. She gave me regular updates and sent me a few pics. She made sure that Oliver was part of the family. He quickly settled in and got comfortable with her and her kids. When I returned to pick up Oliver, he didn't even want to go home! He was calm and relaxed when I saw him and not the least bit anxious. I could tell that he was at ease in her home. I would not hesitate to use her again for pet sitting!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
