“What a wonderful experience for our Thea! She is very shy and selective with strangers, but she definitely felt at home with Conor. Conor is very professional and has the perfect home for your dog! He sends updates and photos regularly and is just a really positive person and dog sitter! Not only we will we be back, but we are recommending our family members!”

“Elva was fantastic. She welcomed Henri, who loved being there and had a fun time. She expertly administered two medications he needed, and she provided regular updates and pictures, which were reassuring. Would definitely recommend Elva, and would happily have her take care of Henri again.”

“Norman’s stay with Naomi and Johann went off without a hitch. He felt at home with them and got along well with Milo. We enjoyed receiving the regular updates and pictures they sent as well!”

“Julia was great! Quick communication, easy to arrange drop off/pick up times, and clearly took great care of our dog during her stay (including lovely photos and videos throughout). Would book again!”

“She was absolutely lovely. My baby seemed very happy and comfortable with her, even though it was my first time leaving him. She kept me updated with pictures and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. I would definitely book with her again if I ever need a pet sitter. I won’t look anywhere else. Thank you so much!”

“Jackie took great care of my cat Pepper! She sent daily updates and photos, which kept me totally at ease. She was also really flexible when my flight was delayed and pickup ran late. Highly recommend booking with her!”

“Penny had an excellent time with Rob and I will definitely book him again!! He sent me updates and pictures the whole time I was gone, which I appreciated. I wasn’t worried at all because she was left in amazing hands and I had the chance to meet with Rob before sending her over. 10/10 experience.”

“Tanya did a wonderful job taking care of our senior pup! Betty was recovering from surgery so needed extra love and attention, including getting medicine and wearing a cone. Even so, Tanya made sure she was comfy and spent plenty of time outside. We will definitely be scheduling with Tanya again!”

“Jan is so loving and attentive. I’m going to book her a third time. She does more than most and goes above and beyond with your little fur baby. She loves animals and it shows. You never have to worry about your fur baby when they are in her care.”

“Billy had a great two weeks with Kristina. This was Billy's first time boarding in his 9 years. He was adopted by my dad from a puppy mill rescue organization when he was 5 and then came to live with me 7 months ago when my dad died. Kristina is great with him and very patient and understanding with me. I received pictures daily which brought great comfort! Billy will definitely be visiting Kristina again.”

About: I am a dog lover who would love to watch over your pet while you’re gone. I have a house in Norwood Park where dogs have free range to roam about and a large fenced in backyard to explore. I am self employed and spend a good amount of time at home. I love dogs & want to use our space to welcome fun visitors! I am home most of the day & am able to let dogs outside & go for walks frequently. If I do need to leave, dogs have free range of the house to explore.
“Lauriann and Sven were wonderful sitters! They sent pictures and updates every day. They made sure my Shar-Pei mix felt comfortable through the rain and fireworks, which she can get anxiety about. I felt so safe leaving her in their care and I would definitely book them again.”

“Abigail and her family are true gems. My girl is 13 years old and typically very anxious. She is so comfortable with the family. I wish I had found Abigail and her family years ago ❤️”

“I was very anxious about leaving my girls while I was on vacation. But Thomas and Kelly took great care of them and sent lots of pictures to ease my mind. I was able to enjoy my vacation much more since I knew my girls were in good hands.”

“Bob took care of our boy Bear while we were on vacation. He sent us video updates and we were so happy to see Bear was in good hands and having fun with all his new friends. Bob was very responsive as well when coordinating drop off, pickup, and with any other questions we had.”

“Rico took great care of Drax. His frequent updates gave us peace of mind that Drax was happy at his home away from home. Will definitely book again!”

“Quyeisha was great with my dog and kept me updated every day while I was on my trip - very experienced and knowledgeable with watching dogs and will definitely reach out to her again!”

“So happy we found Diane! Our girl was very happy staying with her and we could relax knowing she was well cared for. Diane’s house is very clean and well set up and she has a nice enclosed yard. Diane was always quick with responses and sent photos. We will definitely use her again!”

Loren is always so attentive with my pups. They seem to love her so much. Loren sends photo updates daily. She is always so great with them. It’s always a joy. She’s communicative and she replies quickly when messaged. You can tell she loves animals. My dogs love her!

This is the 2nd time I have used Tanya and she is the absolute BEST!!! She went above and beyond to watch my senior dog!! I always worry especially now that my dog is almost 14, but I don’t worry at all when my dog is at her house! She takes tons of great pictures and videos! You could tell that my dog loves it at her house!! She and her husband are the nicest people! Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about her! She should be the model of how every Rover should be!!
Christine took great care of our two dogs while we were away. We received regular updates with pictures, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Communication was always prompt and easy, and it was clear our dogs were well cared for and happy. We would definitely book with her again!

Ralphie had an active staycation with Danielle - playing fetch in her fenced-in backyard, regular walks, and plenty of active time outside. I received many photos and regular updates during his 8-day stay. Danielle was extremely accommodating when my flight was delayed and we had to extend our pickup time. Highly recommend!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
