About: Hi! I’m Luciana 🐾 I’ve volunteered with Heartland Animal Shelter for 2+ years and have experience fostering kittens, adult cats, hospice cats, and working with dogs of different sizes and personalities. As a pet parent to my cat Milo, I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone patient, loving, and attentive. I provide: ✅ frequent photo updates ✅ playtime and enrichment ✅ medication experience ✅ calm care for shy or anxious pets ✅ reliable routines and potty breaks I work mostly from home, so your pet will receive lots of supervision and attention. I know every pet is different, and I always take time to understand their personality, routines, and comfort needs so they feel safe while you’re away ❤️ Not ready to book? Check us out on Sniffspot! I work mostly from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I do occasionally leave for short errands, workouts, or appointments (typically 1–3 hours), but I prioritize maintaining your pet’s routine and comfort. Your pet’s comfort and safety always come first. I take time to learn each pet’s personality, routines, and boundaries so they feel secure and cared for. I have experience with cats of all ages, including kittens, seniors, hospice kitties, and cats needing medication. For dogs, I’ve worked with different breeds, sizes, and temperaments through Heartland Animal Shelter. I have a fenced yard for pets that enjoy brief supervised outdoor time (always safely monitored). Whether your pet loves playtime, cuddles, or simply a calm companion, I adapt to what makes them happiest.
“Simply THE Best. Zara is cared for so well, I’m surprised she comes home sometimes!!! 😍 Greatly appreciate the attention to detail, lots of Play time, Expert Dog training reccos and friendly prompt communication. We’ll be back next month! 💗”

“My pooch came back happy and healthy! Thao was very accommodating when added two days onto my trip last minute, and even supplemented with her own food with no problem!! She also sent me pictures of him which helped ease any worries I may have had leaving him with someone for the first time. She was very easy to communicate with while I was out of town and answered any texts quickly and clearly. 5 stars from me and Max!”

“Conor and his family watched our 2 little dogs for a weekend and we’ve never been more comfortable with a place we’ve had watch them! Conor was an excellent communicator, frequently updating us with pictures and updates of our little guys just to let us know that all was well. Our little dogs were really comfortable there all weekend, and we will absolutely have Conor and his family at the top of our list for boarding next time we need help. It was a great experience sending our dogs to stay with someone so kind and trustworthy. We will be using them again soon. Highly recommend!”

“We had a great experience with Meghan! Freddy was happy, well cared for, and clearly received lots of attention while we were away. “Rob is a good dog sitter and I feel good about leaving my dogs with him. My dog Jerry has can have difficulty being in new places and he did well staying with Rob. I recommend Rob.”

“Undra took such wonderful care of our babygirl Mala during our 4½-day trip (Wednesday through Sunday afternoon). From the moment we dropped her off, we felt completely at ease. She kept us updated every single day with adorable pictures and videos, which really meant a lot while we were away. It was clear Mala was happy, comfortable, and being treated like part of the family. One of the sweetest touches was hearing how Undra’s 2-year-old daughter bonded with Mala — playing with her and even reading to her. Absolutely adorable and so heartwarming to see. You can tell Undra genuinely cares, and that kind of attention and love is hard to find. We’re truly grateful for the care she provided. We will definitely be using Undra’s services again for our future mini getaways.”

“Fantastic home to leave your best friend and not worry about it. We received bunch of pictures and updates along the way and overall it was great experience for us. I wouldn’t think twice about leaving Casper there again. Thank you!”

“Cindy & her family were absolutely amazing with my pup. I am really cautious about leaving my girl behind, but Cindy made me feel at ease immediately. I received many sweet photos and updates. Highly recommend!!!”

About: What sets us apart is that your dog becomes part of our family, not just a guest in our home. We are a loving family of five with children ages 11, 9, and 4, and we intentionally care for only one dog at a time. This allows us to give your dog undivided attention, maintain a calm environment, and reduce any risk associated with multiple pets. Between my flexible work-from-home schedule and my wife’s nursing schedule, your dog is rarely alone. We have experience caring for dogs of different ages and temperaments and are comfortable maintaining routines, administering basic care, and giving extra patience to senior dogs. Our children are gentle, supervised, and accustomed to interacting respectfully with dogs. Our large three-level home with hardwood and tile floors, along with a grassy front and backyard, provides plenty of space for comfort and play. We prioritize daily walks, structured playtime, and plenty of affection to ensure your dog feels safe, engaged, and loved. While we don’t currently own a pet, we regularly care for friends’ dogs and bring that same level of attentiveness and responsibility to every dog we watch.
“Amanda was an absolutely wonderful sitter for my 3 yo Catahoula! She took such great care of her for the entire week and was incredibly kind and attentive. Amanda sent daily updates, which really put my mind at ease and let me see how happy my dog was. Her beagles were so sweet and playful, and my dog loved having friends to run around with in the yard. It was clear that Amanda truly cares about the dogs she watches and goes the extra mile to make sure they feel comfortable and happy. I’m so grateful for the care she gave my pup and would absolutely book with her again!”

“Outstanding!! we love that we got multiple pictures and videos every single day. They took care of our pup like she was one of their own. Their dog has a great temperament and I’m sure our dog will miss playtime and naps with him! I will absolutely book again!”

Tatiana was great! I am a very nervous dog mom, so leaving my boy with someone new was a bit scary, but Tatiana made me feel at ease during my dog's entire stay. She provided regular updates on how he was doing along with photos. The entire process was stress free- I will definitely be a repeat client.

Loren is always so attentive with my pups. They seem to love her so much. Loren sends photo updates daily. She is always so great with them. It’s always a joy. She’s communicative and she replies quickly when messaged. You can tell she loves animals. My dogs love her!

Christine took great care of our two dogs while we were away. We received regular updates with pictures, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Communication was always prompt and easy, and it was clear our dogs were well cared for and happy. We would definitely book with her again!

Violeta was able to accommodate a last minute booking request when we were unable to get our dog in for boarding during our spring break. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about dogs due to her experience as a veterinary technician which helped immensely since our dog has some special needs/mobility issues. She was responsive and sent pictures and videos of Scooter and her two dogs. We are grateful to Violeta for taking great care of Scooter and would highly recommend her services to our friends and family!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
