“Kristina was great - a real professional! She took wonderful care of our senior dog, sending lots of pictures and updates every day. Jilly came back a very happy lady and we wouldn't hesitate to have her stay with Kristina again.”
“I highly recommend Olga for her pet sitting services. She took amazing care of our dog, Zoey. She played with her and took Zoey on a lot of walks (which she loves). Her communication was great- she sent daily video and photo updates which gave us peace of mind… Zoey looked like she was having the best time. We can’t wait to have Olga watch Zoey again!”

“Roman was Charise’s first ever Rover dog and we were really happy to have connected with her for our 5-day trip. Charise was a great sitter—she sent detailed updates about how Roman was doing with Navi and hope he was settling in while we were away. Her home is very clean and Charise is a very warm and welcoming host. Navi is just the cutest little nugget ever, and I could tell immediately Roman would feel right at home with Charise. Our big GSD is a big baby and throws a bit of a fit every time we leave, but Charise and Navi were patient with him while he warmed up to the idea of us being away—by the time we returned, he was fully integrated into their little family. Roman is allowed on the couch and bed for cuddles, and Charise has a full basement for the dogs to run around and play, a small yard, and she takes them together on long walks. Roman came home fully pooped from a week of playing with Navi and we’ll definitely be using Charise in the future!”

“As always, Joe is excellent. He loves dogs, he is great with dogs, our dog loves him and Penny and Luna. He is also very accommodating and helped us on a short notice.”

“Corinne is fantastic!!! She was so good with my Bodhi guy! She treated him with such love and he took to her so fast! I’m so grateful we found Corinne to give Bodhi the attention he deserves while mom is at work!”

“Rico and his family are great. They always take excellent care of Rye, and this past weekend was no exception. Rye came to them with some stomach issues, but they were still willing to watch him and took such great care of him! He loves being at their home.”

“Abaigael and her family were great hosts! Lots of updates, walks, and dedicated play time/exercise. She was super responsive and understanding as I had a last second booking. Would not hesitate to return or recommend her services.”

“Had a really great experience with Susan watching my 2 dogs. We did a meet and greet in advance and my dogs got along great with Isla. She was very accommodating of my dog with anxious behaviors and even their walking styles/activity levels. I felt very comfortable while I was away and got daily updates and photos! Will absolutely be booking again next time I’m away. Thank you Susan!”

“Nicky was great with our Frenchie. Lots of communication and photos. Would recommend if you need someone that can care for a fussy dog that needs lots of attention!”

“Norman’s stay with Naomi and Johann went off without a hitch. He felt at home with them and got along well with Milo. We enjoyed receiving the regular updates and pictures they sent as well!”

“Our two girls, Elizabeth and Scout, were cared for wonderfully by Suzanne. On our first meet and great prior to boarding, our girls took to Suzanne immediately, this was GREAT to see since we booked a sixteen night stay! Elizabeth needed to have oral medication twice daily and Suzanne was happy to make sure Elizabeth's needs were met. We were pleased with how well our girls got along with Suzanne's new puppy, Harley ?, and her fenced-in yard provided a safe outdoor space for our girls to hang out. Suzanne was great at sending photos and videos, to keep us updated on how our girls were doing throughout our trip. When we picked our dogs up, we found two very happy girls, that had a great time in Suzanne's care. We highly recommend Suzanne for your dog sitting or boarding needs, as she really seems to have a way with dogs.????”

“Joerg & Lake were awesome! Both were super friendly, fast communication and sent updates & pictures, which gave me peace of mind. Will definitely be using them again in the future!”

“Carla and her roommate were awesome to our puppy! Even after some last-minute, unexpected changes to our travel plans, they were so helpful and accommodating. We think that our puppy had a more relaxing time with Carla than we did on vacation. We are very appreciative of their care, time, and attention! Thanks much! :)”

“Michelle took Macy into her home and was so sweet to accommodate me with a last minute work trip that I had out of town. I could tell Macy was so well taken care of while I was gone, and felt right at home! I'll definitely be using Michelle for boarding my pup with future trips :)”

“Eric was great at communicating and our dog came home a happy guy. I appreciated that he asked so many questions about our dog so that he knew exactly what to do. I would definitely recommend Eric.”

“Eileen is truly the best! She is so kind and loving, you just saw it in our dog's eyes as Eileen sent pictures. We are so grateful for this experience and will be using Eileen to take care of our sweet girl. Thank you so much Eileen for your care and for all the wonderful messages and pictures!!!”

“Wilma and her family were amazing with Guy! He looked very happy when we picked him up. We know he was well taken care of. We hope to be able to have Guy visit them again soon.”

Highly recommend Sarah! My Goldendoodle Charlie loved his extended stay while we were on vacation. It was truly like a vacation for him. Sarah has great house with huge backyard. Kids and family that love to give your dog attention. Sarah sent some pics and did some walks. 5 star hotel for dog. Thank you!!

We cannot thank Doug & Deb enough for looking after our dog, Taz. We had to rush to the hospital to have our baby, and they stepped in immediately to help. They came and picked Taz up, which took a massive weight off our shoulders during a very stressful and exciting moment. Throughout his stay, they sent regular updates and photos, keeping us completely at ease while we were in the hospital. Taz was treated like family and received the absolute best care. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for loving, reliable, and compassionate pet sitters. We will definitely be booking with them again!

Claire has been a wonderful caregiver, tending to the needs of our diabetic pup, Shelly. Claire sent regular updates regarding feeding and medication, as well as photos and updates about how Shelly was doing. We are so grateful to have found Claire - she truly went above and beyond in caring for our beloved pup.

Sarah took wonderful care of our dog, Scout, while we were away for the weekend. We appreciated all of the pictures Sarah sent throughout the weekend, they helped us to see how happy and relaxed Scout was during her stay. It was obvious that Sarah treated Scout like one of her own. We would gladly have Sarah watch Scout again, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter.

Natalie and Jacob were outstanding sitters for our Ruby. Their calm and friendly approach put Ruby at complete ease during her six night stay. Natalie kept us informed when we checked in and sent pictures that helped with our separation anxiety .. ha ha. We highly recommend Natalie & Jacob for your dog sitting needs.
We had a great experience with Nelia. This was my first time using rover, and I found Nelia 3 days before we had to leave for a trip. She responded quickly, and gave us all the information we needed to make a great drop off of our dog Duke. I received daily updates and pictures about his activities, and was very impressed. Duke was ready and waiting for us on pick up. Awesome experience, and I will definitely take him there again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
