“We feel so lucky to have found Mary as our dog walker. Our dog Biz absolutely loves her—and Biz is an excellent judge of character, so that says everything! Mary is incredibly reliable, honest, and kind. She’s gentle and attentive, and we always feel completely at ease knowing Biz is in such good hands. It’s clear she truly cares about the dogs she works with. We highly recommend Mary to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pet.”

“Janette was AMAZING!!! Not only was she very thorough, she was so incredibly kind and caring. Not once did I ever have any hesitation about her caring for our 2 dogs and cat while we were away for an overnight Spring Break surprise. I felt comfortable with Janette immediately upon meeting her and knew this would be a wonderful addition! She was AMAZING with our pets and sent updates and photos with every walk. Before she left, I knew we'd be using her again - she really took the panic and uncertainty out of pet care while we were away.”

“Michael was great with Rocky. My father had hip surgery two weeks ago so it's a load of stress off my mind that we found someone that can help when my brother or myself are not available. Michael was prompt and professional and sent pics while out on their walks. Rocky really likes him! Will definitely be using again! Thanks Michael!”

“So highly recommend Nick for your dog walking / care needs . Nick constantly kept up with our ever growing/changing dog. We can’t say enough about the care and time that Nick had for him.”

“Katy is wonderful! She's a natural with animals, super responsive and reliable. She took tons of pictures and gave a detailed account of the walk with my pup. I'd definitely recommend her!”

“Hannah is quick to respond and has a great touch with animals. Our pups took a liking to her right away and enjoy getting a visit midday. So far, her communication has been stellar!”

About: I volunteered at PAWS Chicago, walked dogs at Chicago K9 Rescue, and lived and cared for a cat in the past. Super comfortable around animals. I’m a college student on break for the summer, so there isn’t much going on day to day; my schedule is very flexible. I will be patient with your pet and try to make things as comfortable as possible for him/her. I will also respect your home and any rules you set for your house.
About: We're a family of five who adore pets of all kinds! We had a wonderful dog named Peace for about six years and plenty of experience petsitting for friends and relatives. Due to travel commitments, we currently have no pets-- which gives us plenty of time to care for yours. I am a stay at home mom and my husband works on a hybrid schedule, which gives us plenty of flexibility and allows us to be home for the majority of the day. Our daughter is currently enrolled in online high school, so she has plenty of time to walk, care for, and play with your pets! We have a large fenced yard and are able to crate your pets if provided. We'll take dogs for walks a minimum of twice a day and let them roam in the yard/provide at least a couple more potty breaks.
About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve cared for and walked all types of dogs, from small breeds to large dogs up to 80 pounds, old and young. Friends, family and neighbors trust me because I have a calm, caring energy that dogs naturally respond to. I’m dependable, loving and treat every pet as if they were my own. I am currently retired and home most of the time, so your pet will receive lots of attention, affection and frequent walks. I truly treat every fur baby as if they were my own. I live in an apartment, so walks and outdoor breaks are frequent. When house sitting, I always follow the owner’s instructions to keep pets comfortable and routines consistent.
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life — from growing up with them to raising my own now. I currently care for a black Lab with a strong personality, so I understand leash control, structure, and clear boundaries. I’m calm, consistent, and confident with all breeds, including high-energy or reactive dogs. I’ve helped friends, family, and neighbors with walks, feeding, cleanup, and calming routines. Whether your dog needs structured exercise or just a reliable visitor, I’m ready to show up. I work part-time with a consistent, flexible routine that allows me to care for your dogs during the day. I’m available for walks and drop-ins: • Mondays after 11:00 AM • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after 8:00 AM If your dog needs structured exercise, calm energy, or just a mid-morning break, I’ve got you covered. While I do not offer in-home boarding, I provide dependable drop-ins and walks tailored to your dog’s needs. I live with my own dog, Sam, who is reactive to other animals, so I cannot bring pets into my home — but this also means I understand how to work calmly and respectfully with dogs that may need space or structure. I’m confident handling leash reactivity, high-energy dogs, and special instructions.
“Thank you so much Katherine!! Your patience and calmness really helped Mazel feel comfortable and enjoy her walk! We cant wait to see you again. Appreciate you!”

“Elva took her time to get to know Churro and listen to what some of his issues were. When our puppy came back from his walk he slept for a long time. We will be definitely rebooking in the future. ❤️”

Whether your pet needs a fun, active environment or a calm and relaxing space, I’m happy to accommodate their unique personality and needs to help them feel happy, safe and comfortable while in my care. Thank you for considering me! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! :) I have a very flexible schedule as someone who creates my own work hours, which allows me to accommodate many different schedules and give your pet plenty of attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. I care for your pets in your home with the same love, attention, and respect that I would give my own. I greet them warmly and offer plenty of pets, cuddles, affection, and companionship based on their individual personality and comfort level. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, clean litter boxes, playtime, and any additional accommodations or care requested. For pets who require walks, I ensure they are safely harnessed and comfortable while allowing them time to explore and sniff at their own pace. I stay attentive to their surroundings, prioritize their safety around other animals, and make sure they remain comfortable in all weather conditions — never too hot or too cold. My goal is always to help your pets feel safe, cared for, relaxed, and loved while you’re away. :)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
