“Janette was AMAZING!!! Not only was she very thorough, she was so incredibly kind and caring. Not once did I ever have any hesitation about her caring for our 2 dogs and cat while we were away for an overnight Spring Break surprise. I felt comfortable with Janette immediately upon meeting her and knew this would be a wonderful addition! She was AMAZING with our pets and sent updates and photos with every walk. Before she left, I knew we'd be using her again - she really took the panic and uncertainty out of pet care while we were away.”

“Hayley was totally awesome!!! I would highly recommend her. We have 4 - yes 4 dogs - and she did an outstanding job. She was fantastic at our meet and greet any did a great job getting to know our “quirky” dog to ensure the comfort level for both of them. She followed instructions perfectly and communicated if there were any questions. But most importantly her truly kind spirit and loving nature is evident right a way. Our dogs loved her and so did we! You can tell that this job starts from her heart. She was beyond wonderful!!!”
“Elva always does a great job walking our dog. She communicates well and always lets us know about changes or if there is anything we need to know about our dogs walk.”

“Mary was so great with Milo, especially for his first walk with Rover ? can tell she really has a passion for dogs and making sure they feel comfortable. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly walker/sitter!”

“Hannah is quick to respond and has a great touch with animals. Our pups took a liking to her right away and enjoy getting a visit midday. So far, her communication has been stellar!”

“So highly recommend Nick for your dog walking / care needs . Nick constantly kept up with our ever growing/changing dog. We can’t say enough about the care and time that Nick had for him.”

“Katherine is attentive to Nigel’s needs and always provides updates during their daily walk. Her help is very appreciated and I know Nigel always enjoys their daily walks too!”

About: I grew with a 60lb English Bulldog who had a rambunctious spirit. With him I learned the special needs from particular breeds. Later I had a 5 lb Yorkie. She was a sweetheart that wanted nothing more than to be by your side. They were the best around. I am happy to walk your dog(s), run them in the yard, or spend time with them indoors to break up the time they spend alone. I’m also happy to stop by to feed your cats and give them some one on on time. I like to work within my community. It builds trust between both parties. I’m a college student continuing in the fall. My hours are flexible until then. While I don’t house your pets, I am able to tend to them in your home. I can check a litter box, handle feedings, play with them, and run them in your fenced yard. I’m happy to walk them through their neighborhood or to take them for long walks to a local park. We can tailor the visit to their specific needs.
About: Hi, I’m Vanessa! I’m currently in college but my family has been fostering dogs since I was in middle school, so I have experience with every kind of dog from 8-week puppies to older dogs to three legged ones! I currently have 2 rescues I help take care of and train, and love volunteering at animal shelters(Chicago Canine and Wright Way) in my free time, so I have a wide variety of experiences when it comes to caring for animals. Whether it be walking one dog or bathing a van load of puppies, I love spending time with all dogs!!!! I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time for walks, check-ins, and overnight stays. I’m available during the weekdays and most weekends, and my schedule is very flexible. I have experience with basic dog training classes, and my two dogs are both crate trained so I can follow any dogs schedule, strict or relaxed, and make sure they’re safe and comfortable. I also love to play with them and help them get the physical and mental stimulation they need to be happy and healthy!
“Elizabeth was easy to work with and provided timely feedback of walks. She left updates on each walk along with pictures of our dog each day. I highly recommend Elizabeth!”

Every dog I take care of and walk would be in great hands and more than loved by me.
About: I have lots of experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds, from small dogs that require tooth brushing to old dogs that require medicine for joint pain to golden retrievers that want to play catch for hours on end. If you do need a sitter/walker on Mondays or Thursdays, I will be available after 7pm to walk or house sit :) I am a very courteous guest. I am more than happy to take care of plants, bring in the mail, etc. all in addition to taking amazing care of your animals!

About: As a dedicated and experienced dog lover, I offer a safe and nurturing environment for your furry baby. I love all types of dogs big or small! I’ve spent time letting out dogs for friends and family and have also volunteered at a pet shelter giving dogs walks. I am not working right now so my schedule is very flexible. I currently take care of one family of dogs for an hour in the afternoons otherwise I’m available the rest of the day to let dogs out or take them for walks. I would be able to come to the client’s home to let the dogs out or take them for a walk if that is what is asked.

Elizabeth was an amazing care taker of our dog Sammy. She was very friendly and always on time. She even gave him extra care when he was having tummy issues. She also took the cutest photos of him which really touched our hearts. I would highly recommend Elizabeth for her wonderful care taking services! Excellent job!
We feel so lucky to have found Mary as our dog walker. Our dog Biz absolutely loves her—and Biz is an excellent judge of character, so that says everything! Mary is incredibly reliable, honest, and kind. She’s gentle and attentive, and we always feel completely at ease knowing Biz is in such good hands. It’s clear she truly cares about the dogs she works with. We highly recommend Mary to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pet.

Mirna is amazing! Milo looks forward to his walks with Mirna because she lets him take walk at his own pace and is so sweet around him. We look forward to her "Rover Card" every day because she is very detailed with her notes and you can not only tell she has experience with dogs, but also loves them. Thanks for everything you do.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
