“Nicky was great with our Frenchie. Lots of communication and photos. Would recommend if you need someone that can care for a fussy dog that needs lots of attention!”

“So pleased we found Elva. Her and her daughter were so sweet with my pup and I was sent daily messages, pictures and videos which put my mind at ease. I appreciated Elva taking time to learn Mochas mannerisms to take care of her better. Would totally recommend.”

About: I am a dog lover who would love to watch over your pet while you’re gone. I have a house in Norwood Park where dogs have free range to roam about and a large fenced in backyard to explore. I am self employed and spend a good amount of time at home. I love dogs & want to use our space to welcome fun visitors! I am home most of the day & am able to let dogs outside & go for walks frequently. If I do need to leave, dogs have free range of the house to explore.
“Rico took great care of Drax. His frequent updates gave us peace of mind that Drax was happy at his home away from home. Will definitely book again!”

“I had a last minute change of plans and needed to find someone to care for my dog with only a few hours notice. Cynthia said “yes” immediately. When I arrived she gave me a tour of her home, where my dog would stay and her planned routine. She took my number to stay in touch and everything went very well. Two days later I picked up my happy and well cared for dog.”

“You can tell Abaigaels home is filled with love and I had no doubt my dog (aka my baby who I’m very nervous to leave somewhere) was well taken care of. I received lots of updates and saw all the snuggles and pampering my dog received. I wasn’t sure if he was going to want to come home. 5 Stars will definitely be a return customer!!”

“Sky was the absolute bestttt with my dog while she spent the week with her. Great communicator and very understanding. My dog had so much fun, she came back home so worn out. Definitely booking her again soon!”

About: I grew up with a collie and have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors. I’m patient and highly attuned to their emotions and behavior. Experienced with senior dogs, dogs with cancer :-( , and even finicky picky dogs … you can count on me to follow your directions, with responsive communication… please read the initial testimonials/reviews for examples. I work from home, so my schedule is flexible and well-suited for pet care, allowing me to provide consistent attention, timely walks, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. I’m able to spend the whole do with them.. I have a fenced in backyard, and enjoy taking multiple walks a day, along with spending time playing and engaging with dogs in a safe, loving environment. I won’t let them be unattended in the backyard for obvious reasons.
“Undram did an amazing job caring for Gizmo. He came home to us so happy and calm. I can tell he was well loved and understood. We were so thrilled after a grueling flight to come home to such a happy pup!”

“Corinne is fantastic!!! She was so good with my Bodhi guy! She treated him with such love and he took to her so fast! I’m so grateful we found Corinne to give Bodhi the attention he deserves while mom is at work!”

“Joerg and Lake are amazing sitters! My dog seemed to have such a good time with them and I was relieved to receive regular updates. Lizzie seems so sweet and like such a friendly and playful friend for any pup who takes comfort from having another dog around. It really seemed like Zadie was treated like part of their family even for the few days she was staying with them.”

“This was our first time working with a sitter, and Susan gave Gus the exercise, attention, and comfortable space he needed while I was away. Although at first when I left, Gus settled in, got in some walks with Susan, and overall did well -- and came home happy and calm - a testament to Susan's care. Thank you!”

“We had a fantastic first experience with leaving our pup Ace for 4 days/3 nights. We were given updates with pics and videos multiple times a day which eased all our minds at leaving our 4 legged family member while we were on a ski trip. Joe is clearly knowledgeable on how to acclimate a dog to new surroundings and caretaker. We appreciate his insight as a certified dog trainer; we are lucky to have been connected to him and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”

“Our pup Titus had a great stay with Michelle! He’s a senior dog with some special needs, being a rescue adoptee, and she was so great at making sure he was comfortable and well cared for. ☺️”

“Karla did a great job taking care of our dog, Lucky. We’ve only had Lucky for a few months, and as a rescue from Texas, he has a lot of separation anxiety. Karla was very understanding and made him feel relaxed and at home, while also being patient with all of his little foibles. She sent us lots of pictures and videos, which we really appreciated. She also has a great setup for dogs, including a large long condo with plenty of space for running around. We would definitely recommend Karla to others!”

“Ella is kind, enthusiastic, and responsive and took great care of our 11 mo old dog! This was our first time using Rover, and I would absolutely recommend Ella to care for a friend’s beloved pet.”

“Sophie was great. She was loving and gentle with Regina George and asked a tons of questions to better understand her needs. Regina came home calm as could be and seemed to enjoy her time with Sophie and her boyfriend. Looking forward to booking again.”

“Brook and Jon were absolutely the best with my dog. He's a bit of a nervous/shy guy but they handled him like pros. Their dog, Kegger, is super sweet and him and Hudson became the best of pals. Would 100% recommend booking with Brook. She's super responsive and gives you plenty of updates throughout the stay. Definitely calling on them again next time I have to go out of town! Thanks so much guys!”

About: For nearly 30 years, dogs have been a part of my life and my passion. I began caring for dogs at just 5 years old, and over the years have gained experience with dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and personalities. This experience includes everything from puppies to senior companions. I’m experienced with potty training, crate training, administering routine medications, caring for dogs in rehabilitation from injuries and surgeries, and providing compassionate care for dogs with incontinence or other special needs. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and personalities so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. My home is shared with a friendly, energetic 3 year old Springer Spaniel who loves making new friends, as well as a social 1 year old cat who is comfortable around and playful with dogs. When your pet stays with me, you can be assured they will receive plenty of attention and exercise in one of the many parks near my house. I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is simply to make sure your pet is happy, safe, and loved, while giving you complete peace of mind during their stay. I currently work at home full time which allows me to provide attentive and consistent care to your pet throughout the day. Whether your dog requires frequent potty breaks, walks, medication on a set schedule or simply just play time, I can reasonably adjust my schedule to fit your pet’s needs. Once they enter my home, your dog will be treated as if it were my own. I provide a clean, safe environment for your dog to relax, play, and receive plenty of attention. My own dog and cat are eager to make new friends and provide extra companionship to your pet during their stay. I frequently bring my own dog to play at the parks around my house, and would be thrilled to include your pet(s) in this adventure.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Morton Grove
First time using a dog‑sitting service, and I was definitely anxious. Janette made the whole experience amazing. She sent pictures and videos almost every day of my dog playing with the other pups and spending time with her daughter. Seeing her so happy made my trip so much easier. I’ll absolutely be returning!

Sarah was absolutely amazing! She sent regular updates and even taught my puppy how to use the stairs. She has an awesome backyard and cozy home for pets to enjoy and lots of experience, she even has a vet background the moment she held my puppy she knew he had a hernia which I did not even know until a vet told me and I did not inform her she was smart enough to notice on her own.

We had our little Dachshund boarded with Kazuhiro & Akemi and found them to be extremely responsive, responsible and easy to work with. With lots of photos daily showing walks, playing and rest time, we felt reassured that our little sausage was being well looked after. I feel very comfortable recommending them!

Claire has been a wonderful caregiver, tending to the needs of our diabetic pup, Shelly. Claire sent regular updates regarding feeding and medication, as well as photos and updates about how Shelly was doing. We are so grateful to have found Claire - she truly went above and beyond in caring for our beloved pup.

Sarah took wonderful care of our dog, Scout, while we were away for the weekend. We appreciated all of the pictures Sarah sent throughout the weekend, they helped us to see how happy and relaxed Scout was during her stay. It was obvious that Sarah treated Scout like one of her own. We would gladly have Sarah watch Scout again, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter.

Natalie and Jacob were outstanding sitters for our Ruby. Their calm and friendly approach put Ruby at complete ease during her six night stay. Natalie kept us informed when we checked in and sent pictures that helped with our separation anxiety .. ha ha. We highly recommend Natalie & Jacob for your dog sitting needs.
Abaigael was amazing with Aya! She sent frequent updates and I could tell from the pictures that Aya was so happy with her and her family! Super friendly and communicative, I'm super grateful to know Aya was in great company! Oh and she has the cutest pup! Thanks again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
