“Catherine took really great care of our dog. Left very excellent and detailed notes on the visits and also took great pictures and we felt very safe and secure that she was watching our family pet.”

About: We're a family of five who adore pets of all kinds! We had a wonderful dog named Peace for about six years and plenty of experience petsitting for friends and relatives. Due to travel commitments, we currently have no pets-- which gives us plenty of time to care for yours. I am a stay at home mom and my husband works on a hybrid schedule, which gives us plenty of flexibility and allows us to be home for the majority of the day. Our daughter is currently enrolled in online high school, so she has plenty of time to walk, care for, and play with your pets! We have a large fenced yard and are able to crate your pets if provided. We'll take dogs for walks a minimum of twice a day and let them roam in the yard/provide at least a couple more potty breaks.

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals since I was young and continue to care for my senior cat whom I’ve had for the last 12 years. I have experience walking dogs ranging from small to large sizes, and live near a forest preserve trail that would be perfect for their walks! Friends and neighbors have also relied on me to do drop-in feedings as well. I work full-time, 4 days a week, evening shift. So I am available most mornings and have a pretty flexible 3-day weekend schedule. I live in a building complex that has a fenced in little dog park for your pup to run around in. I’m also near a forest preserve trail if they prefer longer walks to explore nature. Cats will have a safe, quiet space to stay with a large window to sun bathe in the mornings and cozy blankets to snuggle in.
“Emily has been such a wonderful support for our 5 month old puppy. His adjustment from summer mom to teacher mom has been eased with her drop ins. We love the cute photos and he is happy mid day!”

“Nicholas was the best! His care for my feisty cat was amazing. I especially appreciated his updates and good communication about the particulars, and he also attended to details. He went above and beyond and all respects.”

“Mary is always reliable and great with our animals. She communicates well and takes good care of them when we are gone. She also listens to what we ask her to do with them including meds for our elderly cat.”

About: I have been pet sitting for over 10 years on and off when a family member or friend needed help. I have experience with puppy training and sneaking meds to get your pets the vitamins or medication that they need. I am working on this being a main source of income while trying to find a full time or part time job. I have open availability after 12/19/25. If pets are to be boarded at my home, I do not have a fence so we would be going on long walks to get some exercise. We have a large yard of your fur baby likes to play fetch as well.
About: I've always loved caring for dogs and enjoy getting to know each pet's unique personality. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and ages, from tiny breeds and small dogs to large breeds, including pit bulls, as well as energetic puppies. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply sticking to their daily routine, I'm happy to provide the care they need. I've provided overnight house sitting for families, cared for pets in their own homes to help keep their routines consistent, and offered drop-in visits and dog walking. I'm comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels, and I understand that every dog has unique needs and deserves patient, individualized care. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I'll always treat your home with respect and your dog like they're part of my own family. I'll keep you updated with photos and messages while you're away, giving you peace of mind that your furry family member is safe, happy, and receiving plenty of love and attention I am a full-time kindergarten teacher, and caring for others is a big part of who I am. My job has taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of creating a safe and loving environment — qualities I bring into caring for pets as well. Outside of school, I have time for early morning walks, check-ins, evening visits, and overnight stays. I truly enjoy spending my free time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m happy to follow each pet’s routine and give them the attention, exercise, and love they need. I treat every pet like they are my own and want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I make sure to follow their normal routines, including feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, from puppies and small dogs to larger breeds, including pit bulls. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they get the attention, exercise, and care they need. I’ll also keep you updated with pictures and messages so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands.
About: I am a life-long animal lover that turned that love into a career after moving into my home with a fenced yard. I have experience caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. I purchased my home with my dogs in mind as I've got a fenced yard and I wanted to make sure that they had plenty of room to run around. Your dog will be treated like family while they're staying with me. I have three dogs of my own that range in age from 2 to 12, so no matter what speed your dog likes to go we've got something for them. For anyone little who needs it I've got stairs to get up on furniture. My pup, Lego, LOVES to play and will welcome any playmates with open paws. We've got tons of toys and chews around the house and lots of beds and couches to lounge on if that's what they're into. Other than occasional errands I may need to run, I am home full-time with the dogs. Due to this, the dogs don't have a lot of opportunities to get bored…in fact I have many owners texting me after telling me how tired their dog was after staying here! I try to let the dogs be outside and play to their heart’s content (weather permitting, of course). I started Rover as something to do on the side to spend time with dogs, and it has grown to be a full time gig for me and I couldn’t be happier. Being around dogs is truly what brings me joy--it would be my pleasure to take care of your pup while you're away. WHAT KIND OF DOGS DO BEST HERE? My goal is to let the dogs interact and play as much as possible, so well socialized dogs do best at my house. If your dog prefers to be alone or has aggressive/anxiety-based behaviors, then I may not be the sitter for you. Please keep this in mind as you consider me as a potential dog sitter. I am not for every dog and we want to ensure your dog is comfortable in its environment. Please note that I do foster dogs for Chicago Rescue Authority. Foster dogs will never interact with any guest dogs until they have been fully vetted and thoroughly tested to ensure they can safely interact with the pack. “Isabella has been wonderful and adapted to my flight changes during the government shutdown. She took get care of my fur baby and will definitely be using her in the future!!!”

About: You are working late for the peak season or you may need to travel for several days. You are worrying about your furry friend at home who has been indoor and alone all day long. Worrying about if they eat or drink or pooped yet. Worrying about if they run out of home or not. This is something I'd worry about my cats and dogs when I'm out for work. Every day I would spend some time with my pets to play, train, and talk with them. The more I communicate with pets, the more they'd understand me, including my orders and requests. I'd do the same with your dog as well! Talk with your dog, understand he/she's feeling. This would really help to build a relationship with your pet! If they like jogging or fetching, we can definitely do more on that! Keep every dog in a healthy shape, lose weight and gain more muscle. Or if they prefer to get some belly rubs or do some training, that would be my pleasure to serve as well~ I will bring a water bottle with filtered water (if your dog only drinks with the bottle he/she familiar with, it would be great if you would share it with me during the walk) After each exercise, I will make sure to keep your dog hydrated, and give some treats for awards. I will also take some videos and photos for you to see how he/she is doing! Tell me more about your dog, let me know what he/she likes/don't likes to do. Let me know him/her ahead of time would help me to do my job.
About: I’ve spent some time in high school training service dogs for injured war vets! I also have worked in quite a few doggy day cares! I grew up with dogs and have loved them since infancy! I’m currently working a pretty flexible job allowing me more time to ensure your loved fur babies can be properly taken care of! I have a pretty open weekly routine so I have so much time to put towards pet care! I have 1 dog and 2 cats I care for them by making sure all they’re needs are met between both my cats one’s high energy one’s chill I make sure my high energy girl is played with and stimulated mentally every day, same for my dog we go on long walks twice a day!

“Brinda was so great with our boys. We were worried that they'd hide from someone new, but they loved her immediately. She was always so thorough and communicative and made sure that both we and our boys were comfortable.”

About: I’ve had a passion for animals since I was a little girl. I get along with all my neighbors’ dogs and my neighbors rely on me to take care of them some times. My old roommate has a golden retriever and I love taking care of him, giving him a bath and walking him. I have two cats at home and I even taught them some tricks! I’m currently working part time only on Mondays and Thursdays. So I have lots of free time outside of work taking care of your dogs and playing with them! I also have a car so I can drive to wherever you are and take your dogs for a walk where they are the most comfortable with. I live right next to the bike trail and woods, which is a paradise for dogs! If you have an athletic or active dog, I’ll take your dog running the trails, swimming in the pond, and have all the fun in the outside world! If your dog is less active, I’ll give your dog all the comfort and love at home, making sure they are well fed and entertained.

Donna and Stephen were absolutely fantastic with Jax! From the moment I left him, I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such caring and attentive hands. They treated Jax like he was one of their own, and I especially loved receiving pictures throughout his stay. Seeing how happy and comfortable he was gave me such peace of mind and let me know he was being well cared for and having a great time. It means so much to find people you can truly trust with your fur baby, and Donna and Stephen are definitely those people. Jax gives them five paws! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 I would absolutely recommend them and will definitely be using them again. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of Jax! ❤️

Rosy was great! Both of my cats need pills and one is particularly adept at hiding in general, so we were worried about how he would react. She tried various strategies to get a pill in him, and even though it was unsuccessful in the end, I really appreciated her tenacity. She sent pictures and very reassuring updates after each visit.

Elva was great with my dogs! She is professional, reliable, always on time, and truly cares about making sure my babies get the most out of their visit. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such good hands, and they were always happy and well cared for after spending time with her. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Tiffany checked in on my cat, Tofu, while I was gone on a week long trip. She was very communicative and sent lots of cute pics. She brought an issue with our automatic feeder to our attention and went above and beyond to help us trouble shoot the issue. Tofu loved Tiffany and we will be booking her again in the future

Helen was awesome! Our cat is very anxious and requires a transdermal medicine and Helen was able to handle our cat really well. She was able to give proactive updates about her. She was thorough in understanding our cat's needs. We will be booking with her again for sure!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
