“Kit was incredibly thoughtful and made sure to ask me questions about my pets’ needs that hadn’t even occurred to me to share. She sent lots of pictures and updates on my cats throughout my trip so I knew they were well taken care of. Could not recommend her more!!”

“Great cat sitter !! Amanda was very open with communication, flexible with her schedule, and took great care of my two cats while we were on vacation. She was able to visit twice a day and not only make sure they had the basics but also spend some time playing with them and grooming my long hair cat.”

“Anusha took great care of my pug Maui while I was away for the weekend, and I really appreciated the updates and attention she gave him. It gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. Maui was happy and well cared for. I would definitely use her again in the future and recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter!”

“Jordan was wonderful! Very communicative, prompt, and caring. Sent absolutely adorable pics of my cats, and I truly felt like my pets were in good hands. 10/10, would recommend! We will absolutely reach out next time we go out of town.”

About: I love animals and always have. I've got two dogs and two cats of my own, grew up surrounded by pets, and spent a lot of time caring for farm animals too. I've been pet sitting for years, so I know how nerve-wracking it is to leave your dog with someone new, and I want both you and your pup to feel at ease. One of my own dogs has a health condition I manage day to day, so I'm comfortable with everything from regular walks to more hands-on care. I stick to your pet's routine, keep you updated, and treat every dog like my own. Pet care fits really naturally into my week. I'm a student with a flexible schedule, so I'm around for walks and visits throughout the day, mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I keep my availability updated and I'm happy to work around your pet's routine, whether that's a set daily walk or drop-ins while you're away. Just let me know what works and we'll figure out a rhythm. Since I mostly do walks, sitting, and drop-in visits, I'm caring for your pet in their own space, where they're most comfortable. I always stick to the routine you give me, feeding, walk times, medication, whatever they need, and follow your instructions closely. I keep a close eye on things, make sure doors and leashes are secure, and send updates so you know your pet is happy and safe. I treat your home and your pet with the same care I'd want for my own.
About: I'm attentive, detail-oriented, and generous with love and affection for all dogs I have the privilege to take care of. I have experience helping my family take care of our beloved dachshunds throughout my childhood (3 over the course of my life). I also have dog-sat for numerous families back when I lived in Minneapolis. I'm a dog lover through and through. I'm a busy grad student at Northwestern, so I can't have a dog of my own right now. Pet-sitting allows me to fulfill that desire for puppy cuddles when it fits my schedule! I have classes during the day and club activities at night, but lots of flexibility in my schedule to drive to pet sitting appointments. I would prefer to take care of dogs in their homes and go for walks in their neighborhood rather than stay in my small studio apartment. This makes the dog feel safe in their space. I am dedicated towards making dogs feel comfortable with me by following their existing routines and spending as much time as I can with them.
About: I have extensive experience walking, and boarding dogs of all sizes and breeds. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy, and I am committed to providing the highest level of care for every pet I welcome into my home. I understand that every dog is unique, which is why I tailor my care to each pet’s size, age, health, energy level, and individual needs. My goal is to make your dog feel like they’re on their own vacation while staying with my family! I provide regular photo updates so you can feel confident that your furry friend is happy, safe, and well cared for. I also carefully follow all owner instructions because I know how important consistency and trust are when it comes to your pet’s care. I have an 15 year-old Brittany Spaniel who is friendly and well-trained. Your dog will have companionship and plenty of opportunities to socialize, play, and have fun. In addition to dog care, I also offer drop-in visits for cats, including feeding, playtime, litter box cleaning, fresh water, and plenty of attention. You’ll receive updates and photos after every visit. What Your Dog Can Expect During Their Stay: Plenty of exercise, walks, and potty breaks Constant supervision and human interaction A safe, loving, family environment Freedom to roam indoors (no crating unless requested by the owner) Daily photos, videos, and updates The typical daily routine includes: Morning walk Midday potty break Afternoon walk and playtime Evening walk I would love the opportunity to care for your pet and treat them like a member of our family. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions! This is my full-time job! I have more than 20 years experience training, walking, and boarding dogs of all sizes. Caring for dogs is something I truly enjoy, and I always give my best to make sure every pup feels safe, happy, and loved. I provide personalized care based on each dog’s size, age, health, energy level, and individual needs. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing, I’ll make sure they receive the attention and care they deserve. 🐾 My home has a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely run, play, and get plenty of exercise. In addition to enjoying outdoor time in the yard, they’ll also receive daily walks to keep them happy, active, and engaged. 🐾
About: I have a lot of experience in caring for animals, because since childhood I had animals at home, I dreamed of being a veterinarian, but chose a different profession. I have two dogs and a cat. I treat animals like children, or better) Your pet will be happy with the time spent with me! I work from home and can take care of your baby in the evenings or on weekends. If within walking distance of my home, up to 3 times a day. I can coach base teams if desired, or just play, whatever you prefer and your dog likes, just tell and I will figure out ;)
“Love, love, love Quyn! I have 3 cats and 2 of them are horribly shy yet Quyn was able to find and photograph them. She has an incredible amount of patience and you can tell she loves animals. HIGHLY recommend and you better believe we will use her again (if she'll have us)!”

About: Started feeding Molly, my first dog, when I was around 1 y.o. Enjoyed the clear and honest communication. Taken close care of Yorkshire terriers, Labradors, Llaso Apsos, and Golden Retrievers. Taken close care of nearly kittens that grew to 8 pound short-hair little dudes to 10 - 25 pound long-haired girls. Well acquainted with the patience and personalities from stubborn to goofballs and grumpy munchers. Intermittently work part-time, which gives me afternoons and early evenings a available to give your pets a consistent schedule and some social time when you are away from home. Greet them in a way that they are comfortable. This may involve few minutes before tasks like getting the lease, cleaning/replacing hygienic items, and/or feeding. Especially early on, I may just be sitting near them on the floor.

“Yimei took wonderful care of my cat, Angie! She was responsive, sent lots of pictures, and went above and beyond. I would highly recommend her and would trust her to take of Angie again in the future.”

About: I originally started work at a dog daycare and transitioned to pet-care in 2022. I recently graduated with my Veterinary Assistant degree and I am in the process of starting a pet sitting business within my community. I'm able to do over-night stays and drop-ins. On my spare time, I enjoy exercising and cooking. I read, bake cookies, watch movies or listen to music. I lock doors and if I’m pet sitting, I take direct instructions from the owner. If I’m dog sitting- I always have double the amount of poop bags. My cell phone is always with me.
About: I have had dogs and cats my whole life, so caring for animals has always been a big part of who I am. I currently own two dogs and have plenty of hands-on experience with daily pet care, including feeding, walking, playtime, and giving animals the attention and patience they need to feel comfortable and safe. I understand that every pet has a different personality, and I always aim to make them feel cared for, happy, and loved. My schedule is very flexible right now, so I have wide availability for walks, drop-ins, and pet care throughout the week. Since I am currently between jobs and looking for part-time work, I am able to be available during many daytime, evening, and weekend hours. I am happy to work with pet owners to find a schedule that is reliable and convenient for them. Creating a safe, calm, and caring environment is very important to me when looking after pets. Both of my dogs are rescues, and one has experienced abuse and struggles with anxiety, which has taught me a lot about patience, consistency, and building trust with animals. I always make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and treated with kindness so they can feel secure and well cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Evanston
I’m writing this review as I prepare to move from Chicago to New York, two and a half years after I adopted my cats (then kittens) Susan and Grover. In those two and a half years, Megan is the only cat sitter they’ve ever known. This is because they love Megan, because Megan is amazing at what she does. She’s responsible and always responsive, and always went above and beyond to make sure the cats were well cared for. I can’t recommend Megan enough, and I am very disappointed that I won’t be able to hire her to look out for Susan and Grover in New York.

Coral went above and beyond as a pet sitter. She was friendly, kind, patient, and paid a great amount of attention and effort to taking care of our pet as her own. Her expertise with a wide range of cats including seniors was very important to my selection of her and it's apparent she loves our pet and isn't merely doing the minimum. She made full use of her time with Kirby by being efficient with administering medicine, cleaning, feeding, and always making time to play with him over three days and followed a consistent schedule. She also thoughtfully brought in our packages. Her communication is stellar and I am very comfortable having her in my home and handling my pet. You'd be lucky to get her services!

Ingrid was so great with our cat Binky, and having her coming to the house for drop-in visits while we were away gave us SO much calm and peace of mind! She knew how to interact with our cat and really got to know him on his own terms. She took care of everything while we were away and went above and beyond in ways both big and small. Ingrid was always on time and kept in touch with great updates and photos so we always knew Binky was well taken care of, happy, and content. Thanks so much for all of your help taking care of our precious kitty!!

Tiffany is amazing! She took the time to come meet our cat, Hunny, prior to her drop-ins. She sent a detailed report and adorable photos. I could tell our cat loves her! I also feel so comfy knowing she herself is a vet tech! We will definitely be reaching out again. Thank you, Tiffany!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
