Hi! I'm Amanda! I am an experienced dog-walker/dog-sitter/pet-sitter with 12 years of professional experience under my belt. I grew up with cats, dogs and birds! I am a huge animal lover and live with MY best friend, Bart, the chihuahua, in a large, dog-friendly, one-bedroom apartment in Evanston, IL. I have a job that allows me to work from home and/or make my own hours, for the most part. That gives me the flexibility to be home for most or all of the time I'm taking care of your buddy. :-) Your dog will be comfortable, happy and active while you're away. I have been a dog-lover/owner for my entire life... over 30 years! I have quite a bit of experience working with local rescue groups and I'm an advocate for adopting shelter animals. I'm actively involved in volunteering and fostering dogs for local animal rescues. I have also previously worked as a dog-walker/pet sitter and would be happy to provide references from my clients. Your pup will never be left unattended outside. I do not have a fenced yard, so I will be providing frequent walks. We have a very relaxed home. I'm happy to allow your pup on my couch and/or bed. There's no extra charge for treats, bedtime snacks, snuggles or belly rubs! I’ll treat your pup just like she’s/he’s one of my own! I have extra bowls, blankets and toys, but please feel free to bring anything that will make your little guy or girl feel at home. Please also bring your dog’s food, leash, a collar with ID tag, and any medications. I also encourage you to write out a detailed summary of your dog’s typical schedule, along with feeding instructions, for me to follow. My standard charge is $35 per night per adult dog. I can watch adult dogs under 40 pounds and with special needs. Dogs with moderate to low energy levels do best in my home, mostly because, although it's large, it's still a one-bedroom apartment! Your dog must be dog friendly, spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, as well as free from contagious diseases (i.e. kennel cough or worms). Pick-up and drop-off time frames are very flexible. I can usually accommodate almost any time of day/night. I am comfortable caring for dogs with medical issues (require medication, blind, deaf, etc.) I am comfortable administering medication. Please feel free to ask me to do this! :)

Amanda is an outstanding sitter! I have a special needs cat who has a complex medical history and requires oral and topical medication twice daily at specific intervals. Amanda was prompt, professional, and very good with handling my cat and her medication. She was very communicative and always provided photo updates with every drop-in along with a little note about how my cat was doing while I was gone. I felt very reassured to leave my cat in her care, and my cat was very comfortable and content when I returned from my trip. She also went above and beyond to tidy up and throw out the trash. I work from home for the most part and I have a flexible schedule, so I’m available for cat and dog-care drop ins at many different times throughout the day.

I am currently only boarding past client’s dogs in my home, but I’m available for multiple dog and cat drop-ins daily. I love all of my kitty friends and have many happy repeat clients.

Our neighborhood is super dog-friendly with many parks, grassy areas and trees to sniff. If your dog likes to play fetch, there is a fenced park/play area very close to our home. In-home play, fetch, snuggles and belly rubs are also encouraged. Bart will be happy to have your pup as a new friend to play with while he or she is with us!

- I love all breeds of dogs and can accommodate dogs under 40 lbs. If you'd like me to dog-sit in my home, I just need to know that your dog gets along with other dogs and is also okay with men, as I live with my husband.
