Hi I'm Alex (he/they), and I was raised in a house where my parents frequently took in shelter-pets who had trouble getting adopted, so since I was a baby, I've always had pets in my life. I currently have a 5 year old pittie who is one of my best friends and the best pet I could ask for. I’ve had many pets throughout my life and have been a pet-sitter with various agencies for over 10 years, so I understand the importance of recognizing each individual pet’s needs. I'm also patient and respectful of some pet's need for space or time to get to know me, so I'll never rush through a visit if that's the case. I have experience with all kinds of pet personalities, including aggressive dogs that have to be kept away from other animals/people on walks, and experience with dogs that have special medical needs. I love puppies just as much as I love seniors, and each visit is customized to the unique requirements of each pet. I hope I can get to know you and your fur-fam soon!

A typical first visit begins with introducing myself to your pup — some dogs take to strangers immediately and love to be pet and play, while others need some time to sniff and make sure they can trust you. I treat every dog as if they are the later at first — I’ll get on their level to say hi, put my hand out to let them sniff and let them initiate first contact or let me know if it’s okay to pet them (which you can tell through their body language, wagging tail, etc). On walks, some dogs are more energetic and like to run (on leash, of course), whereas other dogs like to take their time — again, I’m all about customizing each visit to the unique needs of your pup. Our dogs are like our children to many of us, so please don’t hesitate to let me know about any quirks, likes, or dislikes your pup has, no matter how silly it might seem.

Alex is fantastic!! The first time we all met, we told Alex about some of the struggles we were dealing with, with our 11 week old puppy. That very first day, Alex was able to get our puppy to walk down the stairs on her own!! It was so impressive! He gave such thorough notes and we were so happy to have someone there with her while we were at work. We would absolutely highly recommend Alex!!!
Alex was great! He was very communicative and took good care of my dog and kitty, including giving the dog his daily medicine and brushing my kitty. I even had a plumbing issue occur while I was away, and Alex let me know right away and did some quick clean up before the plumber could arrive.
Alex is a great communicator, punctual, and lovely with Bear.

Schedule
I’m an active person and I love to be outside. I work freelance scenic design jobs with local theaters, which is definitely a labor of love a lot of the time so I also spend a lot of time as a pet sitter. My availability is very flexible and I can work with your schedule if needed.

- I love all breeds of dog! I would want to know if they have any triggers (for example, I have a shelter dog who is very afraid of shopping carts, so when I see a person with a cart approaching, I cross the street so my pup doesn't get upset). Other than that I like to know if they have certain rules or commands for their dog, if their dog has leash aggression toward other dogs or if they need to be kept away from other pets in general, if they are okay with treats or if their dog is allergic to certain treats…any valuable info you’d like to share with me, I’m open to.
