Our 6 month old puppy cuddled up with Revan after only a few minutes and I was convinced she really is the dog whisperer. Our cat came out to see her too! It's very rare that our cat comes out when a new person is in the house. We are excited to have Revan housesit next month and know our babies will be in the best possible care.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats ever since I was 8 years old when my family got our first dog. Since then I have found a passion for taking care of pets and spending time with them. I’m currently employed part time which gives me a very flexible schedule which allows me to spend a lot of time caring for my pets. I have a fenced yard and 3 friendly cats that love meeting new friends. My house is a very calm environment with not a lot of traffic coming in and out.

About: Worried that your fury babies won’t get enough attention they deserve? I only accept bookings from one family at a time to make sure your babies receive all the attention and care in the world! Before joining Rover I have built multiple long-term relationships with many paw babies and pet owners like you. I’m excited to share my love for animals through looking after your babies when you are busy. I have experiences taking care of puppies and senior dogs and can also administer medication. I have a dog of my own, named North and I am open to any special requests regarding your paw baby🩷 I mostly work from home, I go to work once or twice a week in person but either me or my partner will always be available. So your paw babies are never left alone. I typically give walks 4-5 times a day, and make sure your paw babies are well taken care of. :) I live in an apartment and have a bunch of parks and dog beaches at walking distance from my apartment. I enjoy taking dogs on walks and watch them explore the area. Seeing how happy they are really makes my day! My apartment requires two doors to enter or leave the building so your babies will for sure be safe. If that’s not enough, I also keep my doors locked at all times!

About: I've volunteered at the Evanston Animal Shelter for several years, where I work directly with dogs of all temperaments, including anxious, reactive, and high-energy dogs. I know how to read dog body language, handle leash behavior, and keep walks calm and safe. I've owned dogs my whole life and understand that every dog has its own personality and needs. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, so I have real flexibility those days for drop-ins and check-ins. Weekends I'm generally available, as well. I'm not able to host dogs at my place (I have a dog-reactive dog at home), but I'm happy to come to you; your dog stays comfortable in their own home and their routine stays intact. Your home and your dog's routine get my full respect. I follow whatever instructions you leave; feeding schedules, medications, quirks, all of it. I've worked with dogs of all temperaments at the Evanston Animal Shelter, so I'm comfortable handling anxious or reactive dogs calmly and safely. I'll always leave things exactly as I found them.

About: Going out of town? Your dog will love our friendly Evanston home located near Lake Michigan beaches and forest preserves. We provide weekly adventures such as trips to the dog beach and pooch park, walks in the neighborhood, playtime in our fenced in backyard, and lots of love and attention. Why I love dog sitting I have had dogs in my family since I was born. I grew up in rural areas in the Midwest, and we always had at least one family dog of varying breeds. When I became an adult, I got a black lab puppy from my sister, who had rescued its mother while it was pregnant. I became very interested in dog training, reading any books I could get my hands on and applying their techniques. My lab, Asia, became the gentlest, most well-trained dog most people had ever met. We lost her at age 13; since then, we have always had a lab as a family pet and we have taken care of countless other breeds. About my yard We have a fenced back yard--it is a 6 foot fence around the perimeter with a 5 foot chain link fence between our yard and our friendly neighbor's yard. There is an open area where the dogs can roam freely, a concrete patio, and a vegetable garden that lines one side of the house between our yard and our neighbor's yard. Dogs are supervised by an adult when they are in our yard--we do not leave them unattended. The majority of your dog's outdoor time will be spent on walks and outings. I am a teacher, so I have weekends and holidays off. In addition, I have 2 young adults and a teen living with me who often help by cuddling and playing with our clients. We do not crate our clients unless upon request. Dogs are free to lounge on beds or furniture. No dog likes to be left behind, but we will do our very best to ease your pup's stress. I have over many years of pet boarding and training experience.

About: I grew up with dogs, cats, fishes, rabbits, hamsters, even horses. As the older sister with 2 full time working parents I always took care of the animals. I am now in college and don’t have any pets and I miss taking care of them. I know how to put on snow boots on dogs if they need it when it gets cold. I can bathe and brush their teeth. If your pet requires any special care I will be able to provide it and would love to do so! I have a few classes a day but am able to take care of pets throughout the day and night. Monday and Wednesday are the only days that I have longer classes. But the rest of the week I only have 1 class a day for 1.5 hours and am free the rest of the time. I am able to provide any care for pets in my client’s home that is necessary. I can walk, play with, bathe and do anything else your pet needs.

Andrew was fantastic with our cats, and knowing they were in such good hands really allowed us to relax and enjoy our vacation. We have a 1 year old and a 20+ year old, and he did a great job giving each what they needed, whether more play or more snuggle time. He sent us daily photos that showed how relaxed and at ease they were with him, and both seemed happy and confident when we arrived home. We plan to use Andrew again for all upcoming trips!

Could not have asked for a better dog walker! She was so friendly and caring. My dog was so anxious and upset when I was leaving she almost made me reconsider taking the trip, but Amanda was just the friend she needed! She was always on time, gave me detailed updates and even took my dog on extra long walks and played fetch with her on days she was especially anxious and hyper. I would definitely recommend Amanda to take care of your pets!

About: Hi! My name is Nikole, and I am a recent Northwestern Graduate. I have loved my time in the Evanston area and the community that I have found here, and I would be honored to help take care of your furry friend! I grew up with 3 dogs of different breeds and personalities, and often house-sat for my family members' pets, including dogs, cats, and reptiles. I am passionate about creating a safe, enriching environment for your pet and reinforcing the routines your family has to keep them healthy and happy. Additionally, I am experienced in taking care of senior dogs and cats, and I love helping young animals learn new skills and habits. I'm currently finishing up my spring quarter and am free on weekends, 8:00 am to 9:30 pm, or for overnight sitting when preferred. Overnight sitting during the week can also be arranged by messaging me directly. Weekdays: Mondays and Wednesdays: 2:30 pm-5 pm Tuesdays: 3:00 pm - 11 pm Thursdays: 1 pm -11 pm Friday: 12:30 pm-11 pm For pet care in your home, I begin by asking for a layout of your pet's typical routine: what their eating/sleeping arrangements are, what activities they enjoy, regular habits, and any special medications or anxieties they have. Following the initial inquiry, I'll ask what you hope to get out of my session with your furry friend and answer any lingering questions! I am more than happy to call or Zoom as well to get to know you better.

About: I enjoy taking care of pretty much all types of pets. I just love animals. I've taken care of little guys ranging from dogs and cats to snakes and turtles. I am also very good with puppies and I get along very well with large dogs. I personally raised a Rottweiler and before him I had a pit bull and an Akita. I also tend to take care of some pets for family friends and my moms coworkers. They call me to walk dogs and watch houses. Currently i live with a roommate who also loves animals. I am able to care for and handle all sizes of dogs and cats. I assist my mother with my little sister on Monday evenings and Sunday Afternoons. I also work at a cafe part time in the mornings for 2 hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday I personally can't allow pets over right now but when I walk or pet sit I like to let them lead. I don't try to make them do anything they aren't comfortable doing and I feel letting them take the lead allows them to initiate content on their terms. That way trust between us is easier to build. Also a treat never fails.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Tinsley to take care of our dogs. She started walking and looking after our four-year-old Goldendoodle, Stella, and our new Bernedoodle puppy, Harper. From day one, it was clear that Tinsley genuinely loves dogs and treats them as if they were her own. Stella and Harper both adore her, and Tinsley has been wonderful in helping Harper adjust as a young puppy. She is reliable, attentive, caring, and always keeps us updated on how the dogs are doing. It gives us such peace of mind knowing our dogs are in the hands of someone who truly cares about their happiness and well-being. We highly recommend Tinsley to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog walker. Stella and Harper are always excited to see her, and that says everything!

Legacy is a big dog and can be a little more challenging because of her past trauma, but Mae handled her great I’d absolutely book Mae again and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely good with dogs.

I was really nervous about leaving my pug Maui with a pet sitter because the last time I boarded him at a kennel, he unfortunately lost his eye. After reading all of Eli’s positive reviews, I decided to give him a chance, and I’m so glad I did. Eli was amazing. He was super responsive, very on top of everything, and truly cared about Maui. You can tell he takes what he does seriously and wants both the pets and owners to feel comfortable. Maui absolutely loved him! It gave me so much peace of mind knowing Maui was in good hands. Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Evanston stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Evanston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Evanston with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
