Dog Sitting in Evanston

About: I have 3 years of dog sitting experience for family friends including 4-10 day overnight stays, daily feeding, and 3 walks per day. One dog I took care of was 13 years old. I love spending time with dogs, keeping them company, and going on walks with them. I’m a recent UIC graduate from the master of urban planning and policy program so my schedule is very open while I look for full-time employment. When I have dog sat in the past, one dog was older and needed to be crated in the kitchen when I left the house. I’m happy to do that or cater to any other special needs your dog has.

About: I cared for my Yorkshire Terrier, Polly, in my family home, and we had a close bond, from daily walks to playful moments. Now that I’ve moved to the US and my husband, a PhD student at Northwestern U, has an allergy, we can’t have a dog, but I really miss being around pets and would love to spend time with yours. With my experience, I prioritize small dogs. While I don’t have an experience living with cats, I’m eager to learn and will do my best to give them all my care. I’m excited to walk, play, and give your pet the attention they deserve while you’re away! I currently work full time Monday through Friday, so I am available on weekends. But I can also help on a Friday night if you contact me in advance. I’m unable to care for pets at my place due to restrictions and my husband’s allergy, but I would be happy to provide pet care at your location. I’m fully prepared to follow any specific instructions regarding your pet's care, feeding, grooming, and playtime routine. I respect each pet's boundaries and approach them with patience and understanding. For walks, I always prefer keeping them on a leash to ensure their safety.

About: i’ve been taking care of plants and animals for my friends and neighbors since i was watering my neighbors gardens and feeding their chickens. i grew up in los angeles, where a shocking amount of people in my community kept livestock as pets! i’ve been taking care of cats, dogs, parrots, pigs, and chickens since i was 13 years old. im stage/photo a hair/makeup artist by trade when im not working towards my teaching degree. i love taking long walks, and having a buddy who is thrilled to be outside with me is the best. I’m in school from 10AM into the afternoon 4 days a week, but have plenty of time off fridays and on the weekends. i also only do a half day on tuesdays and thursdays! i like getting up early, it makes me feel productive! Animals aren’t like people! they communicate differently, so taking my time and looking for visual feedback on comfort is a priority. i work with animals of any temperament. i believe communication with the family is important in understanding how to make your fluffy (or not) family member feel most comfortable while you’re away.

About: I've volunteered at the Evanston Animal Shelter for several years, where I work directly with dogs of all temperaments, including anxious, reactive, and high-energy dogs. I know how to read dog body language, handle leash behavior, and keep walks calm and safe. I've owned dogs my whole life and understand that every dog has its own personality and needs. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, so I have real flexibility those days for drop-ins and check-ins. Weekends I'm generally available, as well. I'm not able to host dogs at my place (I have a dog-reactive dog at home), but I'm happy to come to you; your dog stays comfortable in their own home and their routine stays intact. Your home and your dog's routine get my full respect. I follow whatever instructions you leave; feeding schedules, medications, quirks, all of it. I've worked with dogs of all temperaments at the Evanston Animal Shelter, so I'm comfortable handling anxious or reactive dogs calmly and safely. I'll always leave things exactly as I found them.

About: I enjoy taking care of pretty much all types of pets. I just love animals. I've taken care of little guys ranging from dogs and cats to snakes and turtles. I am also very good with puppies and I get along very well with large dogs. I personally raised a Rottweiler and before him I had a pit bull and an Akita. I also tend to take care of some pets for family friends and my moms coworkers. They call me to walk dogs and watch houses. Currently i live with a roommate who also loves animals. I am able to care for and handle all sizes of dogs and cats. I assist my mother with my little sister on Monday evenings and Sunday Afternoons. I also work at a cafe part time in the mornings for 2 hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday I personally can't allow pets over right now but when I walk or pet sit I like to let them lead. I don't try to make them do anything they aren't comfortable doing and I feel letting them take the lead allows them to initiate content on their terms. That way trust between us is easier to build. At Miami University, I was part of Paws for a Cause, where we helped train dogs to prepare them for working with children or future companion roles. This gave me a strong foundation in obedience training, reading body language, and supporting dogs with different temperaments. More recently, I’ve been volunteering with the Evanston Animal Shelter, working with dogs who have a wide range of behaviors and needs. My schedule outside of work is very flexible, so I can reliably fit in consistent visits or longer stays. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal routine as closely as possible—feeding schedules, walk times, crate routines, and any training cues you use. I take time to get to know your pet’s personality, comfort level, and boundaries so they feel safe and relaxed.
