About: I had dogs growing up and my own dog in my 20's/30's in downtown chicago. Crate trained early in my dog's life. Now, I have two loving tweens who want a dog more than anything & will do walks or anything needed. Completely fenced in backyard. Very walkable suburban blocks. Will happily comply with whatever "treats" parameters you wish, food schedule needed. We only offer Rover availability when we have the days to devote to your dog. We are home-bodies at heart. Looking for a dog to be the center of our world for the few days we can offer. Your dog will be a member of our family. Easy to get out to our backyard with our sliding door off family room. We will feed your dog in our kitchen when instructed. Your dog could sleep with 1 of us in bed unless you prefer and dog prefers to be in their own dog bed/crate etc. You let us know where you'd want him/her to be.

“Lisa took fantastic care of my boy Frank! She sent me photo and video updates as well as cleaned up any food/litter spillage Frank created. She responded very quickly and I will definitely book her again!”

“Michelle was so sweet and gentle with Tia, especially with all the fireworks on the 4th, which had Tia super on edge. She did a great job, and I’m so grateful she was there while I was away!”
About: I have had two beautiful golden Retrievers and love dogs in general. My golden Wyatt passed away but I adore and love and miss him so much. Now with a new year one year old puppy who is HUGE , I absolutely want to meet more friends of fur. I work daily but have a flexible schedule and can attend animals during the workday as I make my own hours. I also can stay overnight on Friday through Sunday for overnight sitting. I care for pets making sure they have the essentials, food and water. That being said I love to spend time with them all always they are amazing and I love playing with animals and making them feel as human as possible.
“Caroline always goes above and beyond! Even when they got injured the week of their stay, they managed to fulfill their duties to our pets and send pictures and updates. Thank you, Caroline!”

About: Both of my parents are veterinarians, so I’ve grown up around animals all my life! I have basic animal care skills (walks, feeding, playing) and the extra ones too (animal body language, toxic vs nontoxic foods/materials, giving medication)! I have two cats myself, and have taken care of family and friends’ dogs for years. I’m currently working part time and have a flexible schedule, which means I have plenty of time to play with and visit your pets! I prioritize safety for your pet! I understand that I will be someone unfamiliar coming to the home, and will make sure to let your pet lead the way in our interactions.
About: I have a flexible schedule and can easily fit cat care into my daily routine. I’m available for drop-in visits and can provide feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, playtime, and companionship. I’ll follow your cat’s routine and send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. Your cat’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll carefully follow all of your instructions, including feeding schedules, administering medications (if needed), and providing any special care your cat requires. I always make sure doors and windows are secure, keep the litter box clean, and provide a calm, stress-free environment. As a cat owner myself, I understand how important it is to earn your trust, and I’ll care for your cat as if they were my own. I’m currently a freelancer, which gives me a flexible schedule. I usually prefer afternoon visits because my meetings are typically finished by then, but I’m happy to accommodate morning visits too. I just ask for at least 3 days’ notice for morning bookings so I can plan my schedule accordingly. Your cat’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. During every visit, I’ll follow your care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box cleaning, playtime, and administering medication if needed. I’ll make sure all doors and windows are secure before I leave and keep your home clean and tidy. As a cat owner myself, I understand that every cat has a unique personality, so I’ll respect their boundaries while making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I believe what sets me apart from other sitters is the genuine love and affection I have had for animals since a very young age. I have had 2 fur babies growing up. I make an effort to get to know each dog and their unique personality, habits, and routine. I’m happy to care for energetic puppies, provide gentle care for senior pets, and give every dog plenty of playtime, exercise, and affection. I want every pet to feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their family is away. All in all the overwhelming love I have for pets has always been in me. I have graduated from college and have all the time in the world to give my all into your furry babies. Currently I am not working and this is something i’ve wanted to do for years and I finally have more than enough time to pursue it! I live in an apartment in which we have a big backyard for the pups to play, go potty and it’s perfect for walks. I do not have any other pets in my home. I am able to take them out for potty and play whenever they would like or need.
About: I am a life-long animal lover that turned that love into a career after moving into my home with a fenced yard. I have experience caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. I purchased my home with my dogs in mind as I've got a fenced yard and I wanted to make sure that they had plenty of room to run around. Your dog will be treated like family while they're staying with me. I have three dogs of my own that range in age from 2 to 12, so no matter what speed your dog likes to go we've got something for them. For anyone little who needs it I've got stairs to get up on furniture. My pup, Lego, LOVES to play and will welcome any playmates with open paws. We've got tons of toys and chews around the house and lots of beds and couches to lounge on if that's what they're into. Other than occasional errands I may need to run, I am home full-time with the dogs. Due to this, the dogs don't have a lot of opportunities to get bored…in fact I have many owners texting me after telling me how tired their dog was after staying here! I try to let the dogs be outside and play to their heart’s content (weather permitting, of course). I started Rover as something to do on the side to spend time with dogs, and it has grown to be a full time gig for me and I couldn’t be happier. Being around dogs is truly what brings me joy--it would be my pleasure to take care of your pup while you're away. WHAT KIND OF DOGS DO BEST HERE? My goal is to let the dogs interact and play as much as possible, so well socialized dogs do best at my house. If your dog prefers to be alone or has aggressive/anxiety-based behaviors, then I may not be the sitter for you. Please keep this in mind as you consider me as a potential dog sitter. I am not for every dog and we want to ensure your dog is comfortable in its environment. Please note that I do foster dogs for Chicago Rescue Authority. Foster dogs will never interact with any guest dogs until they have been fully vetted and thoroughly tested to ensure they can safely interact with the pack. About: I’ve had a passion for animals since I was a little girl. I get along with all my neighbors’ dogs and my neighbors rely on me to take care of them some times. My old roommate has a golden retriever and I love taking care of him, giving him a bath and walking him. I have two cats at home and I even taught them some tricks! I’m currently working part time only on Mondays and Thursdays. So I have lots of free time outside of work taking care of your dogs and playing with them! I also have a car so I can drive to wherever you are and take your dogs for a walk where they are the most comfortable with. I live right next to the bike trail and woods, which is a paradise for dogs! If you have an athletic or active dog, I’ll take your dog running the trails, swimming in the pond, and have all the fun in the outside world! If your dog is less active, I’ll give your dog all the comfort and love at home, making sure they are well fed and entertained.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Northfield
The best pet sitter. Rosy literally just saved my cat’s life, when she noticed he was not his usual self, took him to the vet, where they identified he had a urinary blockage and likely just hours to live. How lucky for us that Rosy was caring for our animals and so observant. Thank you, forever. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Northfield with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
