About: I grew up on a farm and we had dogs, cats, horses, chickens, pigs, goats and cows. I’ve been around animals all my life and my ultimate goal is to get back to farm life and have an animal sanctuary I work a full time job, and would be available on weekends for drop in visits and dog walks. I know weekends are when people want to go to dinner or a concert and they don’t want to rush home to take their dog out for a walk. I have years of experience with both cats and dogs. I’m 60 years old and a trusted member of the Northbrook community for the last 26 years.
“Ella is terrific! She always arrived on the scheduled visit times and shared photos with us from her drop-in visits. This was our first time using Rover and the first weekend our new kittens have had a kitty sitter. Everything went great and we will definitely look for availability with Ella for future visits.”

“Donna and her husband Stephen are clearly animal lovers. They were passionate about ensuring our furry family members were taken care of in our absence. They took our feeding instructions seriously and provided playtime, petting and love to each of our cats. We loved the regular updates and pictures they sent to us and when we got back from our vacation, our cats were all healthy and happy. What a relief to find pet sitters whom we can depend on and who get what it takes to help keep pets feeling secure when their owners are away. Thank you so much!!!”

“Stephen and Donna did an excellent job walking our Great Pyrenees mix several times over a few weeks. You could feel their love for dogs from the moment we met them and they were very communicative and kind throughout the whole process. Our boy enjoyed and looked forward to his walks with them and we would definitely recommend and use their services in the future.”

About: I grew up with dogs, cats, and lizards. I have worked at an animal sanctuary, I have worked with disabled animals, and will give your pet the attention and love they deserve. I just graduated from the university of Vermont with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, I am taking a few months off of my regular 9 - 5 to take time for myself so I have a very open schedule. There is no time too early or too late for me to come help, just let me know what works best for you and your animal. I will feed, play with, walk, and spend time with your animal to make sure that they feel loved and cared for. I have no problem staying the night if your animal gets anxious without people around or making multiple visits within a single day.
“Amy did a great job checking on our two cats while we were out of town. She was very attentive to the cats needs and we could tell they got lots of affection and play time during Amy’s visits. We highly recommend and plan to book with Amy in the future.”

About: I’m a Northbrook mom of three with over 20 years of experience caring for dogs, cats, chickens, reptiles, and more. I know how much trust it takes to let someone else care for your animals, and I don’t take that lightly. I’m the person who shows up on time, follows your instructions, and treats your pets like part of my own family. I pay attention to the little things; routines, quirks, favorite toys - so your pet feels safe and understood while you’re away. My goal is simple: you come home to a happy, relaxed pet and feel completely confident booking me again. I’m home consistently throughout the day, which means I can offer dependable check‑ins, walks, and drop‑ins without rushing or squeezing your pet into a packed schedule. I build my day around predictable routines, so your pet gets care that’s calm, consistent, and on time. In your home, I treat your space with the same respect I give my own. I lock up carefully and keep things tidy. My goal is simple: you should feel completely at ease knowing your pet is safe, understood, and genuinely cared for.
About: I love all animals and treat them with the respect they deserve. Dogs are definitely my spirit animal. I really enjoy taking care of pets and playing with them! :) I am a summer camp counselor which leaves my nights and weekends free. I wouldn't want to spend my free time doing anything else. I love spending time with animals! :) I will be gentle with your pet and firm when necessary. I adore animals and treat every one with respect and care. I will make sure everything is clean and as it should be! :)
“Andrew was wonderful. My two standard Poodles liked him right off the bat. He was communicative, punctual and always happy with a smile on his face even when it rained.”

About: Ever since I was a child, I have had a passion for dogs and animals of all sorts. Growing up in the Philippines, my relatives found it strange to have such compassion for animals. I'd always begged my parents for a dog while doing avid research and volunteering at pet-related jobs to prepare myself if my dream was to come true. When I was 17, my parents finally agreed to get a dog-- but not just any dog. I wanted my dream dog: an Alaskan Malamute. Huge, stubborn, and a daily shedder, it was a huge challenge I took on myself. However, this Malamute was well trained, house-broken, and friendly. I believe I can take care of a dog of any size, temperament, or history. I am a graduate from the University of Illinois in Chicago with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/Sociology. I volunteered at the Chicago Canine Rescue downtown where we play and walk with shelter dogs. I have copious experience with boarding, walking, and overall loving dogs. As a past dog boarder, I understand the care and attention that must be given to a pup to create a trusting bond with them. For more pictures of our past clients and to get a better idea how I interact with your pup, check out this instagram: powerpuffdogs May have to step out a few times a day, or if I have an outing I would make sure your pup has had plenty of exercise and pets before leaving. I adhere as closely as possible to the pet’s existing schedule— routine is key! Other than that, if you are comfortable with it, I can take your dog on forest walks, dog parks (only if you’d like, and with ample supervision), or on play dates with my own well-socialized dogs!
About: Growing up I have always had 3 cats at home and have pet sitted for a little over 5 years! My clients have had a mix of dogs and cats so I have experience with both! I can do drop-in visits in the mornings and evenings to feed them, walk them, etc. But the time frame can vary depending on the pets needs and my work schedule I feed them, play with them, walk them, and change the litter boxes (cats). If any more care is required you can text me if needed!
“Rosy was absolutely wonderful. Our elderly cat is not the most welcoming to new people, but Rosy treated her with love and respect. We felt so good knowing our cat was in her care while we were away. She was also super communicative throughout the booking process and the car- taking process, which made us again, feel great. Would highly recommend and will hopefully have her look after our cat in the future.”

“Isabella has been wonderful and adapted to my flight changes during the government shutdown. She took get care of my fur baby and will definitely be using her in the future!!!”

“Once again! Brinda was amazing with our sweet cat while we were away! Fabulous pictures, daily updates and made us feel at ease while we were on our family trip. We hope to continue using Brinda! Our boy was so happy and content on our return!”

Katie did a wonderful job with my kitty! She was very nice and easy to communicate with and followed all instructions with no issues. I really appreciate her going the extra mile to make sure my cat was comfortable and well taken care of. I would absolutely hire Katie again and highly recommend her if you’re looking for a cat sitter!

The best pet sitter. Rosy literally just saved my cat’s life, when she noticed he was not his usual self, took him to the vet, where they identified he had a urinary blockage and likely just hours to live. How lucky for us that Rosy was caring for our animals and so observant. Thank you, forever. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Beyond grateful that I connected with Lauren and Lauren, and they could help with our cat while our entire family traveled together. Communication is always quick, clear, and helpful. They flagged every visit, and kept me updated with all the details from each house visit for our cat. Will absolutely keep them at the top of the list for any future needs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
