“Katherine is fantastic!! She is super compassionate, attentive, and punctual. She took great care of our two cats while we were away for a few days. Our diabetic cat needs three medications daily, including an oral pill and an insulin injection, and Katherine handled them like a pro. Great communication from the time we reached out to her. Highly highly recommend!”

“The very very very best. I leave for trips with complete peace of mind that they will love our pets and treat them like we do. We come back to happy, beautifully cared-for animals, every time.”

“Nicholas was the best! His care for my feisty cat was amazing. I especially appreciated his updates and good communication about the particulars, and he also attended to details. He went above and beyond and all respects.”

“Parisa is fabulous! We trust her with our pet rabbits whenever we travel. We know our babies are safe and in good hands. We have had emergency situations when travelling and she went above and beyond to help us. She is simply the best!”

About: I live in Edison Park, but work in McCook/Chicago during the day/week or sometimes from home. I manage my time really well, so I can make anything early in the morning,/on my lunch break work- plus weekends or after work. I have always had dogs my entire life. I grew up with a chocolate lab mix, then when she passed away my family got a three legged black lab and a chesapeake bay retriever. Then, when I was in college, a chocolate lab climbed into my car and after months of trying to find his owners, I decided to keep him. Those puppies have since passed, but our family has 2 giant black labs currently. I’ve also had 4 Guinea Pigs who I loved dearly. I currently work from home part of the time and love four legged angels (sometimes 3, I had a 3 legged dog growing up). I am available in the early mornings, evenings and on the weekends consistently, but can work out weekday daytime availability with advanced notice. I make sure the animals all have the appropriate food/water setups at all times (per owners instructions depending on pet’s specific needs), as well as making sure the temperature is comfortable for the pet. I prioritize exercise and bathroom breaks for each pet. There is never a lack of social interaction when I am around. Pretty much, I view pets as family and think they deserve the best. If they have specific requirements, I will always follow whatever rules the owner requests and talk through any concerns before booking.
About: My first pets were 2 rats. I took care of them exclusively, bathed them, fed and cleaned up after them. The family cat Simba was mainly my responsibility with occasional help from family, and I would take care of our family dog Bentley when I was home for summers from college. I've helped care for several other animals when babysitting children, and occasionally dog sat overnight for other families over a 3 day weekend period. I've also loved my time volunteering at the local dog shelter where I walk, clean up after, and play with all the dogs up for adoption until they find their forever families. Also enjoyed a 6 week program at a dog shelter in Athens, Greece in 2024! I’m working part and full time depending on the week, but have most availability on weekends and later in the afternoons. Happy to do house sitting as long as the dogs can be alone for up to 6 hours on the days I work! I care for all pets as if they were my own, making sure they have all the attention and care they need and then some.
“Thank you again Isabela for taking care of Ali. I know she was well taken care of on your visits. I always look forward to the pictures and knowing everything thing is fine. I have total peace of mind knowing Ali is in good care.”

“Scott was absolutely fantastic checking in on our 2 cats. He was extremely patient and ensured the more anxious of our 2 cats was okay and eating / drinking while we were gone. Thank you Scott!”

About: I’ve had a passion for animals since I was a little girl. I get along with all my neighbors’ dogs and my neighbors rely on me to take care of them some times. My old roommate has a golden retriever and I love taking care of him, giving him a bath and walking him. I have two cats at home and I even taught them some tricks! I’m currently working part time only on Mondays and Thursdays. So I have lots of free time outside of work taking care of your dogs and playing with them! I also have a car so I can drive to wherever you are and take your dogs for a walk where they are the most comfortable with. I live right next to the bike trail and woods, which is a paradise for dogs! If you have an athletic or active dog, I’ll take your dog running the trails, swimming in the pond, and have all the fun in the outside world! If your dog is less active, I’ll give your dog all the comfort and love at home, making sure they are well fed and entertained.
“Super sweet. Definitely my new designated cat sitter. My kitties love her!!! Attentive and communicative. You can tell she loves all the pets she watches.”

“Karina was on time and made us confident everything was good with our dog. She sent updates and photos throughout and added notes on how everything was going. We’ll definitely be utilizing her services again!”

“Tiffany was able to take on a last minute requests after an emergency medical situation with our previous sitter. Great communication - making sure we are updated on our cat’e welfare and care. I’m glad we gave her a try - and so should you.”

“Mary is always reliable and great with our animals. She communicates well and takes good care of them when we are gone. She also listens to what we ask her to do with them including meds for our elderly cat.”

About: I’ve always had a deep love for animals. Their loyalty, companionship, and energy make them so special, and they deserve the same care and kindness in return. I’ve been around animals my whole life and have hands on experience raising and caring for both dogs and cats. What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give to every pet. I treat them like my own and take the time to understand their personality and needs. I’m very patient and comfortable with dogs and cats of all ages, from playful puppies to senior dogs who may need a slower and gentler approach. I also have experience with cats and understand that every pet has their own unique personality and comfort level. Whether your dog or cat loves to be active and go on walks or prefers to stay home and relax, I’m happy to match their energy and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. I also like to keep owners updated with messages and the occasional cute photo so you can feel at ease while you’re away:) I have a 7 year old Boxer who lives with me. She’s very friendly, loves other dogs, and would be happy to have some company. I’m easy to get along with, responsible, and always do my best to make sure your pet feels comfortable and cared for. If there’s anything specific your pet needs, I’ll always try my best to accommodate. I’d love to be a great match for your furry friend! A little bit about me! I live in the Albany Park area and have my own reliable transportation, so I’m dependable and able to get to your pet when needed. I work freelance, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to plan my day around your pet’s routine. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, longer stays, or even last-minute help, I’m able to adjust my availability to make sure your pet gets the attention, care, and consistency they need. Whether I’m caring for your pet during walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays, their safety and comfort are always my priority. I politely ask that all clients have a fully completed and updated profile with recent photos of their pets, information about their personality, routine, behavior, and any special needs, as well as some information about themselves. This helps me feel more comfortable and confident accepting a booking and gives me a better understanding of you and your pet beforehand. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine and any instructions you provide as closely as possible, whether that’s feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, or just keeping them company. My goal is to make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and comfortable in their own home while you’re away.
“Andrew was the best cat sitter! We’re always a little nervous going out of town leaving our elderly cat at home. Andrew is a great communicator, and we felt our cat was in good hands. We would not hesitate to rebook with Andrew the next time we need a cat sitter.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Morton Grove
Rosy was great! Both of my cats need pills and one is particularly adept at hiding in general, so we were worried about how he would react. She tried various strategies to get a pill in him, and even though it was unsuccessful in the end, I really appreciated her tenacity. She sent pictures and very reassuring updates after each visit.

Tiffany checked in on my cat, Tofu, while I was gone on a week long trip. She was very communicative and sent lots of cute pics. She brought an issue with our automatic feeder to our attention and went above and beyond to help us trouble shoot the issue. Tofu loved Tiffany and we will be booking her again in the future

Helen was awesome! Our cat is very anxious and requires a transdermal medicine and Helen was able to handle our cat really well. She was able to give proactive updates about her. She was thorough in understanding our cat's needs. We will be booking with her again for sure!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
