“Nancyanne was a terrific sitter, her house is amazing and I had full confidence that she would take great care of my pup on our 7 day vacation. Would recommend her to anyone looking for quality boarding service for their dog.”

“Ron and Jeff were very accommodating for our last minute booking. We really appreciate them giving our pup, Kona, extra attention and love while we welcomed a baby into our family. Our dog needed the getaway and he came home very happy. They are great about sending us updates and pictures! Kona loves seeing them.”

“Undra took such wonderful care of our babygirl Mala during our 4½-day trip (Wednesday through Sunday afternoon). From the moment we dropped her off, we felt completely at ease. She kept us updated every single day with adorable pictures and videos, which really meant a lot while we were away. It was clear Mala was happy, comfortable, and being treated like part of the family. One of the sweetest touches was hearing how Undra’s 2-year-old daughter bonded with Mala — playing with her and even reading to her. Absolutely adorable and so heartwarming to see. You can tell Undra genuinely cares, and that kind of attention and love is hard to find. We’re truly grateful for the care she provided. We will definitely be using Undra’s services again for our future mini getaways.”

“Carly did an amazing job with our dog Ivy. She was happy and comfortable which we got to see with every picture and video Carly sent. We are happy to have found someone who loves our dog like we do. Will be recommending Carly to all of our friends!”

About: I have cared for both small and large animals for over 21 years. Your pet will be staying with a very loving, responsible, and respectful family I work from home so someone is home all day every day. I also have a fenced yard for your dog to roam and go out as needed. I provide meals according to owner's instructions and clean up as needed. Also actively partake in play and exercise for the pets which I genuinely enjoy doing.
“If you have an anxious dog like mine, who needs a quiet, less-stimulating environment, Karla is perfect. She is reliable, communicative, and understands a dog's needs. I'm a repeat customer and highly recommend her.”

“This was Penny’s second stay with Tatiana. She is always professional, thoughtful, and responsive. She is great with our older girl, who is a little slower than she used to be and needs a little TLC. PS - thanks for all the belly rubs! Love the daily updates and photos! Thanks again for taking such great care of Penny. Will not hesitate to book again!”
“Trixie and Zac love it at Cunthia’s house! They love playing with other dogs and come home happy and tired from all the fun! I especially love the pictures of them while I’m away!”

“We had the absolute best experience with Mia’s sitter. She was simply amazing, sending us regular pictures and updates, giving Mia a bath, making sure she was well fed, and treating her with so much care and attention. Mia clearly loved her home and her four-day mommy, and we felt completely at ease the entire time.”

“I was very anxious about leaving my girls while I was on vacation. But Thomas and Kelly took great care of them and sent lots of pictures to ease my mind. I was able to enjoy my vacation much more since I knew my girls were in good hands.”

“by far one of the best Rovers sitters we’ve had! She cared for our dog like she was their own and sent us pictures and updates throughout her stay. We would definitely book again!”

“Excellent sitter who was so lovely with our dog. She was so thorough and friendly during drop off, and gave us daily updates when we were out of town which was greatly appreciated. Pippa was so relaxed and loved being there. Gabriela was patient and truly saved us too by being flexible and understanding when we had an unexpected delay. She is the best, cannot recommend her enough!”

“Sandra & Sorin and family were amazing. They did everything possible to help my little Mini Schnauzer feel comfortable and part of the family. Pepper was confused when we dropped her off, but they gave her lots of comfort. Pepper was glad to see us, but not desperate like she has been at boarding kennels. We look forward to having Sandra & Sorin take care of her again in their safe, loving home. I highly recommend Sandra & Sorin for excellent, caring dog boarding and daycare.”

“Rico and his family are great. They always take excellent care of Rye, and this past weekend was no exception. Rye came to them with some stomach issues, but they were still willing to watch him and took such great care of him! He loves being at their home.”

“Julia was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Sammie. Sammie is very shy and can take time to warm up to new people, but Julia was so patient, understanding, and gentle with her. She sent frequent updates, photos, and videos where I could easily see how comfortable and happy Sammie was in her care. It’s clear Julia truly loves dogs and treats them like her own. I felt completely at ease while I was away and would trust her to watch Sammie again in a heartbeat!”

“Joerg and his pup, Lizzie, were excellent hosts for my dog. He returned home and was relaxed and happy! I will absolutely be booking with Joerg again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Northfield
This was our.. I lost count of how many times we had our dogs stay with Thao, and I must say she is awesome every single time. She always updates, always sends pictures, and makes sure the dogs are entertaining and having fun. On the way back home, they both passed out in my car.

We had a great experience with Meghan! Freddy was happy, well cared for, and clearly received lots of attention while we were away. Communication was excellent throughout the stay, and we really appreciated the updates and photos. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands and would happily book again.

Naomi and Johann helped to board Coco twice in a row. After 6 days Coco was excited to see me for a min when I picked her up but back to her old self right after and that’s exactly what you’d want - just like she only just took a walk with friends in the park. I’d be happy to bring her back next time!

Colleen met with my dog at our house first and was attentive to my instructions for our dog during our conversations. She will take your pet’s needs seriously and was genuinely caring about animals. Although we had to change our pet sitting plans, I can say that Colleen offers a variety of nice options for your pet sitting needs. It’s nice to have that flexibility with a pet sitter.

We had the absolute best experience with Mia’s sitter. She was simply amazing, sending us regular pictures and updates, giving Mia a bath, making sure she was well fed, and treating her with so much care and attention. Mia clearly loved her home and her four-day mommy, and we felt completely at ease the entire time.
When my pet sitting arrangements fell through a few days before my 1-week vacation, I turned to Rover and found Janett D. She was ranked as a super sitter, had a background check, numerous repeat customers, and lived close to me. She was able to take my anxiety dog and my cat on short notice. I was very relieved to be able to keep my two pets together to comfort each other. Throughout our trip, Janett sent me updates, photos and videos. When I picked the animals up, they seemed stress-free, happy and healthy. I highly recommend Janett, but selfishly, I hope she'll still have room for my fur babies in the future! ;-)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
