“Brian and his family took the best care of Max! They sent a bunch of photos during his visit and it was so clear that Max was incredibly loved during his stay. We’ll definitely have Brian watch Max anytime we need a sitter going forward!”

“We used to leave our dog at a large dog boarding place when traveling, and she would be grouped with so many different dogs that I can tell she was traumatized and often took days to be back to her normal carefree self (and she would have dog drooling all over her). This time under Nancyanne’s care our dog was able to stick to a routine similar to at home, and I can tell she was quite comfortable and after 9 days it was seamless that her demeanor was like she never left home. We would happily recommend Nancyanne to anyone who needs help.”

“Thea was the best. She’s very gentle and loving. You can tell she really loves pets and takes good care of them. I really appreciate her sending me updates (pictures and videos) every now and then. She was also sweet to send us guides and tips on how to train and handle our puppy. Thanks thea!:)”

“Mo had some great quality dog time with the pack at Jeremy's this past weekend! It was really nice not having to worry if he was getting enough outside time while we were gone or having to race home to let him out. We will definitely be using Jeremy's boarding services again!”

“Cristina was wonderful! Great communicator, flexible, and sent us updates as requested. Lincoln loved playing with Bear and came home happy! Highly recommend Cristina.”

“Diana and her family took such amazing care of my Estelle! This was the first time in almost 2 years my dog had to stay overnight outside of our home and Diana made her feel so comfortable. Their house is a perfect set-up to care for dogs and with a full family and 2 dogs to play with my Estelle was more than happy with her time there.”

“My Chamie spent one night with them, she got back home so happy!! They are amazing people who loves dogs! Akemi sent me photos and updates about my dog. Definitely I’ll use their services again!”

“We had such a wonderful experience, this was our second time leaving Korra with Kim, and once again she was amazing. She took excellent care of Korra, and her communication was great, which gave us complete peace of mind. Kim truly went above and beyond; she even got Korra a Christmas gift, which meant so much to us. We’re incredibly grateful and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I owned a cat for 16 years and most recently a dog for almost 16! Not ready for another of my own just yet, but missing the cuddles and walks! As a teacher my school year is winding down. I will be available starting Tues. June 9, daily, for the whole summer. Hope to get a chance to spoil your pet soon! I have a fenced in side yard area that dogs can use throughout the day. I also have my own crate that a dog can sleep in, as well as my own litter box for cats to use.
“Winnie had a great time playing with Loki! I got photo updates and it was easy to coordinate drop off and pick up. So easy, will definitely book again!”

“This is the second time we have left our pup for a week. He loves the dog friends he plays with during the day. There are usually three other dogs it’s been good for his social skills.”

“We have used Rover for a number of sitters and walkers in the past, and Janette and Charlie are the first ones we've used more than once! They send a ton of photos and videos, and are incredibly flexible with drop-offs/pickups. I know my dog is always in good hands whenever she stays with them!”

“Daisy seems like she enjoyed her time with Vicki and the family. She was happy coming home as well. I really enjoyed receiving the pictures of Daisy playing with Trixie. I definitely will use Vicki again in the future. Donna Meskan”

“This was our first time using Rover and Clarissa made this a wonderful experience. Communication was great and she will tailor to your pups personality and needs! She was warm and friendly and I am pretty sure my pup wanted to stay a little longer. 😆”

“Hi , Kichu had a great time with Mario. He texted me and also replied my text in a timely manner so I could solve the problem easily . I was able to enjoy my trip peacefully. He sent me Kichu’s pictures and videos.I highly consider Mario next time. Thank you for your service.”

“Ewa doesn’t disappoint! Olive loved her stay and feels so at home with Ewa. She loves the big fenced yard and all the attention and playtime, and I love getting all the updates, photos and videos. Ewa was flexible in allowing me to extend Olive’s stay as I was recovering from surgery. I really appreciated that. I’m so blessed and thankful to have such a wonderful environment and sitter for Olive!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Highland Park
Soojin went above and beyond in caring for our dog. She and her young children loved having him with them, and spoiled him with attention, love, and accommodation. Many updates, pics and videos were sent our way during our time away, and there was always quick communication. Our dog Ollie loved playing in their fenced in backyard. We hope to book with them again someday!

Dan and his wife took exceptional care of our dog while we were away. They lovingly welcomed her into their home, took her on walks, played with her and gave her lots of love. They discovered she had developed a UTI, worked with her to keep her comfortable. We are very grateful for their care. And Lula their dog was sweet and friendly to our dog.
Marissa was an absolutely fantastic dog sitter for our greyhound, Cash! She went above and beyond, sending us daily pictures that really put our minds at ease and showed how much fun Cash was having while we were away. It was clear from every update that Cash was in great hands, happy, and well cared for. I would definitely recommend Marissa to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog sitter, and we'll absolutely be reaching out to her again the next time we travel!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
There are 5,204 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Highland Park. About 91% of Highland Park sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
