About: I have had two beautiful golden Retrievers and love dogs in general. My golden Wyatt passed away but I adore and love and miss him so much. Now with a new year one year old puppy who is HUGE , I absolutely want to meet more friends of fur. I work daily but have a flexible schedule and can attend animals during the workday as I make my own hours. I also can stay overnight on Friday through Sunday for overnight sitting. I care for pets making sure they have the essentials, food and water. That being said I love to spend time with them all always they are amazing and I love playing with animals and making them feel as human as possible.
“Amy is very thoughful and willingly works with all the quirks we have with sitting for our cat--medicine changes, food changes, and finally a garage keypad that decided to stop working the day of our trip!”

“This is the 3rd time I have had Denis and Nikki watch our pets and if they are available, we would never consider anybody else. They take great care in what they do and it shows. They not only take excellent care of our animals but they make sure the house is ok also, taking out and back garbage, bringing in packages on the doorstep and mail, etc. They are excellent and our family would highly recommend. Andrew S.”

“Zoey did a great job taking care of my 2 kittens while I was out of town This was the first time they were left alone and She did a great of giving them lots of playtime and pets. She communicated well and provided pics I appreciate the care she provided my two cats”

About: I've been caring for dogs since I was young, starting with my neighbor's Old English Sheepdog. Today, I'm the go-to sitter my sister relies on to care for her little fluffball, whether it's for an evening away or extended vacations. I'm comfortable providing consistent, attentive care for every pet -- and following your every instruction to make sure your pet stays happy and healthy while you're away. I currently work a flexible, non-traditional schedule that includes fantasy illustration projects and teaching art classes. This gives me built-in gaps during the day that I'd love to fill with dog care, whether that means walks, playtime, or multi-day companionship. Your dog's routine and well-being are my top priorities. I make sure that your dog gets the best care possible and will follow all instructions to the letter: setting phone alarms to ensure potty breaks and meals happen right on time, monitoring treats so your dog is neither over- nor under-indulged, and sticking closely to established sleep schedules. I'm equally respectful of your home, taking care to leave it as clean and orderly (or better) than when I arrived.
About: Hi, I'm Faye! I'm a college student home for the summer with a flexible schedule, and I'd love to spend my free time caring for your pets. As a lifelong dog lover and owner of two dogs, I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, from my own 15-pound pup to two 115-pound Black Russian Terriers, so I'm comfortable handling both small and large breeds. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, or just getting lots of attention and affection, I'm happy to tailor my care to their needs. I offer walks, drop-in visits, and dog sitting (depending on location), and I'll treat your pet with the same love and care I give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I am pretty flexible, but it depends on which week is needed. If you are interested please reach out and we can talk about my availability! I have two dogs of my own, a Standard Poodle and a Terrier mix, so I know just how important it is to keep dogs happy, active, and feeling loved. They both enjoy daily walks, playing fetch in the backyard, and, of course, plenty of cuddle time! When caring for client's dogs, I treat them like they're my own. Whether it's going for walks, playing their favorite games, or relaxing with lots of pets and cuddles, I make sure every dog gets the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve.
About: I’ve fostered over 50 animals and just enjoy being with animals and want to show them the world. I’ve worked with dogs from 1 month to 9 years. I will be attending the university of Tennessee this fall and I’d love either morning to afternoon work. I always communicate before bookings and will try to be as flexible as possible! I’m very patient and I’ve fostered over 50 animals so I’ve worked with all personalities and ages. I try to care for dogs like they are my own. I have a rescue who is an anxious dog so I have experience in that as well.
“As always, great experience with Beth. She is prompt to respond and takes the time to play with Rupert (not always easy! Lol!) which we greatly appreciate. Leaving your pets with someone can be so nerve-wracking. I'm so happy to have found Beth as she truly sets my mind at ease!!”

“Diana was wonderful with our two playful kitties over the holidays! She was always on time, was very communicative, and had great attention to detail. Most of all, I can tell she really cares for animals. I highly recommend her and would love to have her watch our kitties anytime!”

About: I just graduated from the University of Michigan and will be home in Chicago for the Summer before starting work. I have fostered two dogs over the last 6 months and both have gotten adopted!! I also have owner 3 dogs for a majority of my life as well as have had pet chinchillas, birds, hamsters, fish. I especially love big dogs! I am currently a student at the University of Michigan, so I have a lot of availability over the summer and breaks from school as well as time everyday in the afternoon and evening, and mornings on weekends. I live in a student apartment on campus, so I do not currently care for animals in my own home, however, I am very diligent about crating, closing fences and doors, as well as approaching animals in a calm manner.
“Sydney took the best care of our cat Cooper and I could tell when we got home that he was given lots of attention! She was super thorough with all of her notes about her visits and took lots of great pictures for us to see our little guy while we were gone. Thanks for taking such good care of him!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for over 8 years and truly love spending time with animals of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I’m very active, patient, and dependable, so whether your dog needs long walks and playtime or your senior pet needs a calmer, gentler approach, I’m happy to adapt to their needs. I understand how important pets are to families, and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re gone. Pet care fits very naturally into my weekly routine because I have a flexible schedule and genuinely enjoy staying active and spending time with animals. I’m available on weekends and most weekdays, especially afternoons and evenings. I enjoy going on walks, being outdoors, and giving pets plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I’m also reliable with feeding schedules, bathroom breaks, medications if needed, and keeping owners updated with photos and messages so they know their pets are doing well. Creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment for pets is very important to me. In a client’s home, I make sure to follow all routines closely so pets feel secure and relaxed in their familiar space. I pay close attention to instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, crate training, and any special needs or behaviors. I’m patient, attentive, and always prioritize safety during walks, playtime, and interactions with other animals. My goal is to make every pet feel loved, comfortable, and cared for as if they were my own.

“Cooper loves Chris! She knows that I love to play catch with my hedge hogs and pays attention to my needs when she takes me out. Chris genuinely cares about her four legged friends and I intend to have her check in on Cooper whenever we'll be out for the entire day.”

About: We've been watching dogs for friends and neighbors for years. Our whole family really loves dogs, including our 8 year old son who has grown up understanding how to love and respect dogs. We love taking dogs for walks, as much as 3 times a day, regardless of weather. With all the dogs we've watched for neighbors and friends, we've gotten very skilled at walking multiple dogs at once. For those furry friends who prefer a leisurely pace, we have a nice sized, fenced in backyard as well. We're happy to provide your fur-baby a home away from home in ours :-). To note, after our beloved bichon of 14 years passed away this summer, we decided to bring home a new puppy to our family. He's still learning to socialize but so far he's been cautiously curious. We fully intend to continue to socialize him regularly. I have returned to in office work but still have some work from home flexibility. Weekends of course, we are around for day time care and walks. We have a fenced in yard and keep close eyes on pups in our home. Happy to accommodate pups who are more comfortable with crate training.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
