My husband and I have a flexible and lax schedule. One of us will be home if the other is working so we’re able to give full attention to our guests :)

My husband and I do not have any pets so our home is (unfortunately) animal free. We are very aware of our surroundings so being in tune and interacting with the current state of the pets we're responsible of is our priority.

Information Leah & Colin C. would like to know about your pet
If they’re up to date on shots, flea medication, rabies, etc. in order to keep our home safe for other pets thereafter. Would want to know what set schedules to abide by, medications, specific ways to pet that the animal likes most or dislikes (if any), favorite game, daily treats- for example; my cat I grew up with likes ice cubes throughout the day, sleeping preferences, if your pets favorite toys will be brought, plus anything that the owner thinks they should share!
A typical day
First, finding out what the animal likes, trying different things to get their spunk out and energy up. Dogs: fetch and playing chase out in the fenced in dog park, my husband and I roll balls or slide toys across floor back forth to each other (like monkey in the middle) with the dog trying to get the toy, racing games (sprinting with dog beside me on leash or in fenced in yard), taking scenic walks with toy, going to nearby nature preserve (only if oked by owner prior), lots of petting, belly rubs, and talking. Cats: using flexible objects like a ribbon with something tied to the end moving quickly around or away from cat (getting cat to move quick), rolling objects hitting back and forth, making a hiding fortress (like a box or something they can spy on us in), lots of petting, brushing fur and cuddles (if cat likes it)

Pet care experience
Hi there, I'm Leah! My husband and I just love animals and are doing this out of wanting to spend time and love on as many pets possible. We recently went through some losses of pets and cannot have pets at the moment so our time with these animals mean more to us than simply taking care of another's loved one. Our effort in making sure the pet is comfortable and happy for the duration of the stay, makes us happy in return. I've grown up taking care of all kinds of animals, with my husband and I's most recent pet being a German Shepard. We raised her as a few month old puppy and are very knowledgeable on not only the training process but the daily requirements of high energy breeds. Same goes for cats, which I LOVE, I've always had a cat living with me till now, which were raised as kittens, training and loving on their different personalities. I have serviced many families in caring for their pets of all ages for 16+ years now through neighborhood friendships and platforms like this one- including Wag, Sittercity, and more. Whether that's helping households retain their order and tidiness or having pets stay in our animal loving home to get 24/7 love and attention, I'd love to have the opportunity to spend time loving on your pets. In being the type of person that loves order, enjoys cleaning, and is very detailed in accomplishing tasks, I enjoy filling the shoes of set schedules and daily duties. So I encourage families to share all that needs to get done, I'm here to help you and your pets not miss a beat in your schedule. I also would want to know what your pet needs to be at optimal health. From medications, sleeping preferences, to a specific way to give a belly rub- their health is our top priority. Another aspect that is so essential is loads of play time, especially to help in the adjustment to the changes. About the environment: our apartment has no pets living with us, we're on the 2nd floor with a balcony (door and screener would stay securely shut the entire duration unless pet owner says otherwise), the complex has a large safe neighborhood for pleasant walks, a fenced in dog park yard right outside the unit, and a pet spa for bathing and grooming. Please reach out if you have any questions at all, we'd love to hear from you and get some playdates scheduled! ***Our complex has some dog breed restrictions that we unfortunately will not be able to care for at our home; Rottweilers, Pitbull's, and Dobermans (but can and would love to care for them during other services- house sitting, drop ins, and walks).

Leah and Colin were great! They made Scooby feel at home and had great communication!

We absolutely love leaving our dog with Colin & Leah! They are so kind and loving with our pup!

Leah was so wonderful!! This was my first time using Rover and having a pet sitter for my cats, so feeling at ease was really important to me. She sent lots of pictures and updates and I will definitely be booking with her again!

Leah is so professional and amazing with my dogs. She is a great communicator and very responsible. You can absolutely trust her with your fur babies.
