“Erin is the first person I’ve used with River & I couldn’t be happier! Erin has been great taking my dog, Bruce, for walks. She’s on time & very communicative, I love seeing the pictures after she’s done. I’m a big fan, but I think my dog might be a bigger one! Highly recommend!”

“Amy has walked our greyhound Benny for a few months now and it's going great. She also gives him his mid day meds. Now that the weather is nice, Benny loves laying in the yard for a stretch and she accommodates him. He's a very happy dog when she comes to walk him. I Highly recommend Amy!”

“She did an amazing job with our pup. He is a 99 lb, scared (at first), and sensitive puppy. She was very sweet with him and game him all the time and treats he needed on the walk. Will definitely book again.”

“Can’t say enough good things!! Communication was excellent. Reliable and prompt. We had a wonderful four days of dog walking. In fact, I think my dog is sad that he’s back to having me walk him. 🤷♀️”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for over 8 years and truly love spending time with animals of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I’m very active, patient, and dependable, so whether your dog needs long walks and playtime or your senior pet needs a calmer, gentler approach, I’m happy to adapt to their needs. I understand how important pets are to families, and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re gone. Pet care fits very naturally into my weekly routine because I have a flexible schedule and genuinely enjoy staying active and spending time with animals. I’m available on weekends and most weekdays, especially afternoons and evenings. I enjoy going on walks, being outdoors, and giving pets plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I’m also reliable with feeding schedules, bathroom breaks, medications if needed, and keeping owners updated with photos and messages so they know their pets are doing well. Creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment for pets is very important to me. In a client’s home, I make sure to follow all routines closely so pets feel secure and relaxed in their familiar space. I pay close attention to instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, crate training, and any special needs or behaviors. I’m patient, attentive, and always prioritize safety during walks, playtime, and interactions with other animals. My goal is to make every pet feel loved, comfortable, and cared for as if they were my own.
About: I've been caring for dogs since I was young, starting with my neighbor's Old English Sheepdog. Today, I'm the go-to sitter my sister relies on to care for her little fluffball, whether it's for an evening away or extended vacations. I'm comfortable providing consistent, attentive care for every pet -- and following your every instruction to make sure your pet stays happy and healthy while you're away. I currently work a flexible, non-traditional schedule that includes fantasy illustration projects and teaching art classes. This gives me built-in gaps during the day that I'd love to fill with dog care, whether that means walks, playtime, or multi-day companionship. Your dog's routine and well-being are my top priorities. I make sure that your dog gets the best care possible and will follow all instructions to the letter: setting phone alarms to ensure potty breaks and meals happen right on time, monitoring treats so your dog is neither over- nor under-indulged, and sticking closely to established sleep schedules. I'm equally respectful of your home, taking care to leave it as clean and orderly (or better) than when I arrived.
“Stephen is great with our silly, high energy dog Roxy (doberman). We always feel comfortable she is in good hands under their care and she is always happy (based on the fun photo update we get). I would highly recommend their services”

“Jason has been a huge help taking care of my dogs a couple times a week. They love him! He leaves detailed notes, asks questions as needed, and sends lots of pics. Thanks Jason!”

“Tara walked our Golden Retriever and Labrador Retriever for a week and did a great job! Tara handled two large dogs, took great care and was patient with them each walk. We will be having Tara back and recommend her whole-heartedly!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have spent the past few years helping care for all sorts of fur babies ! I’ve helped with dog walks, drop-ins, pet sitting, and spending time with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m obsessed with all fur babies and I’m very comfortable handling all sizes and all breeds! We don’t discriminate😆 I am super accommodating! I love going on walks and how cute to have a little companion to get my steps in with! Over the years I’ve learned how important patience, consistency, and love are when it comes to caring for animals. I always make sure every fur baby feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I treat every single one like they’re my own.

“Donna and her partner, Steven, are a great team. They took good care with our little guy, who is 14 and a little deaf and losing his eyesight. They are very kind and trustworthy and will use them again.”

About: I’m pet lover with a degree in animal behavior looking to help you care for your furry friends! I love spending time with animals and have found ways to incorporate that into my professional and personal life. I’ve worked as a bather at a grooming salon, provided daily care for all the animals at a livestock and pet rescue organization, and as a behavior intern for dogs at an animal shelter. These jobs have given me years of hands on experience caring for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, cows, and horses. I’ve also had experience providing basic grooming services, like nail-clipping and ear cleaning, and using positive reinforcement training for behavior modification in dogs. I have bachelors degrees in Biology and Psychology and a PhD in Animal Behavior. I also have personal experience caring for my own pets, cats, hamsters, a turtle, and a dog, and regularly pet sitting for friends. All of these skills give me the background knowledge and experience to give your pet the best possible care while you’re away! I’m currently working with a variable schedule so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets! I’m generally available afternoons and evenings but check my calendar because my schedule changes! Your pet’s safety is the most important thing to me. I pride myself on having clear and frequent communication with pet owners while I’m taking care of their pets and I will keep you updated with pictures and updates at least once per visit!

About: My doggies taught me everything I know. They are no longer here - they went to doggy heaven and we miss them all the time. My teens and I have a lot love to give and want to share with your doggy. You can rest assured we would treat your doggy as if it were ours. Also, anything under 10.5 miles for more than 1 day I offer pick up and dropp off. I work from home and have a very tight routine in our home that will help your pet feel calm and secure. Since pets thrive on routine it will bring them peace and calmness. I can give extra walks when it's a nice day and make sure we stay active if need or relaxed and enjoying a lazy "dog day". I have a quiet, grassy backyard that gives dogs a calm place to sniff, stretch their legs, and enjoy fresh air. It's a low-stress space that's great for potty breaks and relaxed outdoor time. I'm very mindful of which dogs are a good fit for my space and always put safety and comfort first so that your pups feel happy and at ease while they're with me. Doggies are allowed on our beds and couches and even our bathrooms :) - we keep a light sense of humor

Shannon was absolutely wonderful with our dog Mabel this week! Mabel is blind, so she needs extra care and patience, and Shannon handled everything beautifully. She was always on time, gave detailed and thoughtful updates after each walk, and treated Mabel with so much kindness and attention. It gave us total peace of mind knowing Mabel was in such capable hands. We’re so grateful for Shannon and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional dog walker!

Jenny was amazing with Shortcake. She took my chunk out on walks for me twice a day while I was away on a business trip. I love the photo updates and could tell that shortcake was really enjoying her time. I came hope to a very happy and well adjusted dog. I highly recommend Jenny!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
