About: My doggies taught me everything I know. They are no longer here - they went to doggy heaven and we miss them all the time. My teens and I have a lot love to give and want to share with your doggy. You can rest assured we would treat your doggy as if it were ours. Also, anything under 10.5 miles for more than 1 day I offer pick up and dropp off. I work from home and have a very tight routine in our home that will help your pet feel calm and secure. Since pets thrive on routine it will bring them peace and calmness. I can give extra walks when it's a nice day and make sure we stay active if need or relaxed and enjoying a lazy "dog day". I have a quiet, grassy backyard that gives dogs a calm place to sniff, stretch their legs, and enjoy fresh air. It's a low-stress space that's great for potty breaks and relaxed outdoor time. I'm very mindful of which dogs are a good fit for my space and always put safety and comfort first so that your pups feel happy and at ease while they're with me. Doggies are allowed on our beds and couches and even our bathrooms :) - we keep a light sense of humor
“Jason was awesome with our dog! He is super responsive, easy-going, and you could tell he cares about making sure he follows all the owners requests. He came out of his way to meet us beforehand which helped me feel more comfortable with a new dog walker, especially since beagles have some quirks ;) Douglas had a great time with Jason and we will be sure to book with him again in the future!”

“Luna loved Nataliia! She was so sweet with her and listened to all the care instructions for Luna. She was responsive, professional and shared details and photos! We can’t wait fo for her to come back.”

About: I had 2 dogs growing up, and helped my parents take care of them. My parents were busy most days, so I was the one who would take them for walks. My dog recently got his teeth removed, so I also learned how to take care of him and how to feed him properly with that in mind. I’ve also had to take care of both dogs when my parents are out of town, taking them outside, administering medication, and feeding and providing water for them. I have done the same for my grandparents. I love animals a lot, and I volunteered at animal shelters in high school and can properly care for and clean up after many pets.. I’m currently taking all of my classes online, so I will have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I can be available at any needed times, both weekdays and weekends. I will provide food and water according to instructions. I will keep a clean, safe, and loving environment, and ensure that they get time to play and exercise regularly. I’m great at following instructions, and I am very attentive to any special requests that are given by the owner.
“Hanna helps us out on an emergency basis and has been amazing! She has been so accommodating with unique requests, is super responsive and takes great care of our pup. Thank you, Hanna!”

“Diana was prompt, responsive and reliable! She was great to work with and I felt so much relief leaving my pets in good hands while I was away. Thank you Diana! Will absolutely rebook soon”

“Andrea was absolutely wonderful with Benji! She took such great care of him and kept me updated with photos while I was away, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that Benji was happy, comfortable, and well cared while he was with her. I truly appreciate the care and attention she gave him, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and trustworthy Rover sitter!”

About: Hi there! I'm a lifelong dog lover who recently relocated to the USA. While I love it here, I deeply miss the family dogs I had to leave back in my home country. Having grown up surrounded by dogs, I'm so excited to open my heart and home to your furry family member! What sets me apart is the personalized attention your dog will receive. I am currently home full-time, so caring for dogs is my main focus. My husband also works from home, which means there is almost always someone in the apartment, and your pup will rarely, if ever, be left alone. I live in a comfortable apartment with wonderful green spaces nearby for walks and outdoor time. I'm happy to adapt to your dog's unique personality and routine. If your pup loves to stay active, I'd be delighted to take them on walks or runs. If they prefer a slower pace, they're welcome to curl up on the couch with me for plenty of cuddles and relaxation. Having grown up with dogs, I understand how difficult it can be to leave your beloved pet with someone else. I'll care for your dog as if they were my own and keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I can't wait to meet your pup! I am home during the day, which allows me to provide attentive, personalized care throughout your dog's stay. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, so I can easily follow your pup's established feeding, bathroom, exercise, and medication schedule. I take care of all daily walks, playtime, and one-on-one attention to ensure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved. My husband works from home full-time, so while I am your dog's primary caregiver, there is almost always someone else in the home as well. This means your dog will have plenty of companionship and will rarely, if ever, be left alone. With our flexible schedules, your pup can enjoy frequent potty breaks, regular exercise, and lots of affection throughout the day. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood in a ground-floor apartment, which is ideal for dogs since there are no steep stairs or elevator rides to navigate. We also have a securely gated balcony where your pup can safely enjoy some fresh air and watch the world go by. I keep my home dog-proofed, free of hazards, and calm so every guest feels comfortable and secure. While I am the one providing your dog's care, my husband works from home, so there is almost always someone in the home as well. During walks, I always keep dogs securely on a leash, stay aware of our surroundings, and prioritize their safety at all times. I treat every dog in my care with the same love, patience, and attention I would give my own.
About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and genuinely love caring for them. As an elementary teacher, I’m patient, dependable, and attentive, which carries over into how I care for animals as well. I currently have my own 8-month-old Labradoodle, so I’m very familiar with puppy energy, routines, walks, feeding, and all the love and patience they need. I also help care for my family’s Golden Retriever, Suzie, and have watched dogs for family and friends over the years. I always want the pets in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine since I have my own 8-month-old Labradoodle. I’m used to planning my day around walks, feeding, playtime, and giving dogs the attention they need. As an elementary teacher, I have a consistent schedule during the school year, and now that it’s summer, I have even more flexibility and availability for pet care throughout the week. I care for every pet as if they were my own, because I know I would want the same level of love, attention, and care for my own dog. Their safety and comfort are always my top priority. In my home, I provide a clean, safe, and pet-friendly environment with plenty of supervision, attention, playtime, and potty breaks. I also make sure pets have access to fresh water and follow their usual feeding and walking routines to help them feel comfortable. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of both the pet’s routine and the owner’s space, and I always follow instructions closely to make sure their pet feels safe, cared for, and comfortable while maintaining the routine they’re used to.
“Christina is the best! I have a high strung malamute that only trusts certain people. She warmed up to Christina from day one and now waits with a wagging tail when she sees her walking up to the door!”

About: Hi! I'm Sarah, and caring for animals has always been one of my favorite parts of life. I truly believe pets are family members with unique personalities, emotions, quirks, and needs. I love getting to know what makes each one special. My own dog, Scarlet, is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu-Poodle mix with the cutest snaggle tooth you've ever seen. She's named after the Grateful Dead and has taught me so much about patience, communication, and unconditional love. Growing up with Scarlet and caring for many dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments has made me comfortable around all kinds of pets. I'm an active person who loves walks, hikes, workouts, outdoor adventures, playtime, and enrichment activities—but I'm equally happy spending time cuddling on the couch with a dog who prefers a slower pace. My goal is always to make your pet feel safe, loved, comfortable, and understood while you're away. I am someone who understands how hard it may be trusting a stranger to take care of your best friends while you're away. However, you can rest assured that with me, your pets will be treated as they are my own. When you entrust your pets to me, you can expect open communication during my time with your friends, receiving updates, photos, and videos to share with you how they are doing and all of the fun activities we’ll be up to! I am committed to maintaining normal routines and ensuring all needs are met. Your best friend is my best friend, and whether it’s feeding, exercise, or cuddle time, I am dedicated to providing the utmost of care, striving to leave your friends comfortable and fulfilled after every experience. Although I have no formal training in animal care, both my personal experiences and my background in Child Development as a Certified Child Life Specialist, has allowed me to collaborate with therapy dogs and children. This has helped me develop strong skills in reading behavior, building trust, staying patient, and creating safe, positive environments. Whether your dog is energetic and playful, shy and cautious, a senior who needs extra attention, or a puppy still learning the ropes, I adapt my care to their individual needs. Outside of my job and experiences with dogs and animals, I am someone who loves nature, my favorite animal (besides dogs) is a sloth, enjoy relaxing while painting, and attending EDM concerts (house music and dubstep is welcomed). I look forward to meeting you and working with your best friends in the future! With most bookings, given around or at least a 24 hour notice, I am generally flexible enough to have plenty of time for your friends, their specific needs, and even a little extra play time or good belly rubs! I am generally available from 8:00am until 9:00pm. At this time, I cannot offer in-home services, so all of my experiences with your best friends will take place in your home! I take pride in my trustworthiness, and understand the risks and apprehensions of having someone in your home. I do my best to give my full attention to your friends while being respectful of your space. Here as an idea of my general approach with most bookings. With any drop-in services, I will provide any needs requested (walks, let in yard, playtime, feeding, etc.), while ensuring no extra mess is left behind and your personal belongings and areas are untouched. For walking services, I will spend minimal time in your common areas, other than some greeting cuddles and a little post-walk playtime. For overnight boarding services, I will ensure the impact of my presence in your home will be minimal and will prioritize the routine of your pet. I will gladly abide by any wishes or other requests you have regarding my stay in your home, in addition to those surrounding your best friend. Please keep in mind, these routines are just my template! My experience with every pet is going to be different, and I am more than willing to adapt to the style that your friends are used to. I like to provide this as an insight to what you may expect as far as my presence in your home.
“Great experience with Logan! She is kind and patient with the dogs and prompt for the appointments. The dogs love her! Very pleasant person and highly responsive in terms of communication. Will book her again in the future!”

“Haven was so great with our dog. She was available on short notice and went above and beyond to take care of our dog that has anxiety. He felt very comfortable with her right away. I would highly recommend Haven as a dog walker/sitter!”

About: Hello! I've been an animal lover my whole life, growing up around lots of different pets like dogs (big and small), cats (of all kinds), parakeets, hamsters and fish. I currently have a 3-year-old Papillon, and I previously cared for a dog who lived to be 14 years old, so I'm familiar with the needs of both energetic young dogs and senior dogs. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet, and I'll treat every dog and cat with the same love, patience, and care I give my own. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply relaxing, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. I recently finished college and will be home for the summer, which means I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your pet. I’m able to provide lots of attention, playtime, walks, and companionship throughout the day. I enjoy spending time with animals and will make sure your pet feels comfortable, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I provide care in your pet’s familiar environment, where they can feel comfortable and relaxed. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, whether that includes walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply spending time together. Since I have a flexible schedule this summer, I can dedicate plenty of time and attention to making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for.
About: I've been taking care of pets since I was 8. We got my first dog when I was three. He winked at me on the way home so I named him Winky. My favorite photo is of me napping on the couch with WInky in the 60's. Since then, I've had a love for dogs. But since my son has an allergy, I can't have a dog right now. I would love to walk your dog! I'm currently semi-retired so I have time to walk dogs. I need to walk every day so I'm happy to take on this role. I can't have dogs at my house due to my son's allergy. I can come to your dog. I am a trustworthy and prompt person (always on time!). I am gentle with all dogs and, if I may say so myself, dogs love me.
About: I’ve taken care of different types of dogs since I was 14. I had a golden doodle pet of my own for 12 years. I have given injections and pills to dogs. I have been trusted to take care of dogs with epilepsy and diabetes. I have plenty of time to be with your animals. I love cuddling with them and won’t have a problem having them in my bed. I am from Riverwoods and it is soon to be my senior year in college but I have time off now. I also love being active and outside. I have no concerns about anxious dogs and I know they will warm up to me with time. I can crate your dog if needed. For extra outdoor time, I have a a zip line cord to connect to a collar that prevents them from going past a certain point in the backyard since we do not have a fenced in yard. They can roam around there.
About: I’ve had dogs and cats for 35 years. I currently have a German Shepherd and a domestic short hair cat. I volunteer at the humane society socializing cats. I am retired and have time and love enough to care for your small dog or cat. We travel a bit but am available when in town. I’m available for drop in visits or overnights. I am experienced keeping an active dog entertained. I can take small dogs for walks in your neighborhood

I have two dogs - one small Teddy Bear and the other big Rottweiler. Ling was able to walk both smoothly. My two dogs have different personalities. Ling was so patient and friendly, trying to understand their personalities. My dogs were very comfortable when walking with Ling. I can tell Ling loves all kinds of dogs and I strongly recommend her to any dog families.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
