“Dotty had a great time with Mike and his wife. He really kept me up to date on her stay. She spent time napping on the couch and playing with the other dogs. I think Trouble was her favorite. I wouldn't have her stay with anybody else from now on. We absolutely recommend.”

“Balaji, Sanna and Mocha are simply amazing!! We were so excited to receive the frequent photo and video updates daily! Simba truly had the time of his life during his 9 day stay with them, and I’m sure he will miss this time a lot as he adjusts back. He got so spoiled with his frequent walks and play time with Mocha’s toys, friends and space!! Thank you all again so much. We can’t wait for him to spend time again with you all soon hopefully.”

“Jean was amazing with my golden. I loved getting pictures and videos daily and knowing that he was having a great time. My big guy has terrible anxiety during storms and is on a high dose of anxiety medication that sometimes works. When a bad storm rolled in Jean was compassionate and loving and notified me about his condition. As a very overprotective dog mom I trust Jean and we will definitely be using her again.”
“Noor and her family did a wonderful job with our cat Tabby while we were on vacation! She sent us frequent updates about how Tabby was doing and made a great effort to become friends with her. Definitely would book with them again, and would recommend!”

“After reading so many great reviews. We decided to go with Julie to watch both our boys (Mason & Mailo) and we can confirm Julie is the best. We received updates, pictures sent daily and the boys seemed to enjoy their time with Julie. We are very happy to know we have someone we can 100 percent trust with our boys. We highly recommend Julie. Sincerely, Rob & Val ( aka helicopter dog mom)”
“Kazuhiro and Akemi were simply fantastic with Regina George! She is a bit timid but was very comfortable with them and their other sweet dog guests. You could see how calm and relaxed all dogs were and that seemed to immediately make Regina George calm as well. While she was a touch nervous during her stay they provided constant updates and pictures. We were completely relaxed and secure knowing she was being taken care of. You could tell they were true dog lovers! Highly recommended for others. Looking forward to her next visit with them!”

“We are very happy with the service provided by Yailyn. Hank stayed with her for 8 days and came home a very happy dog. She kept us updated throughout the trip, and sent us photos of Hank having a great time. We will definitely is Yailyn again. Thank you, Yailyn!”

“Prithvi cared for Bruno for about a week and the experience exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, Prithvi was communicative and attentive, keeping us regularly updated with messages and photos that gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear that Bruno was not only well looked after but also genuinely happy and comfortable in her care. I would highly recommend Prithvi to anyone looking for a responsible and compassionate dog boarder. She truly treats your pet like her own.”

“Melissa and her whole family treated my dog in a loving and caring manner. The kids were great with my dog and she has two dogs that got along well with my boy. Melissa sent me pictures and updates which I really appreciated!! I can highly recommend Melissa. She is a great caretaker!”

“Bob was amazing! We were out of town for 3 weeks longest we left our guys and I couldn't have felt more confident knowing they were cared for and loved while we were away. Bob treats my pups like family!”

“Ella took the best care of our old girl pip! She sent daily pictures and was an excellent communicator throughout her stay. Pip takes daily medication and has specialty food needs and we couldn’t have asked for a more patient perfect sitter for her than Ella. We will certainly be using Ella for all of our sitting needs in the future!”

“If I could give six stars, I would. This is the first time we used Rover and Leigh and Richard could not have been more wonderful. I received daily pictures and updates on how my pup was doing and I don’t think he wanted to leave when I came to get him! I would highly recommend them.”

“Laura and Vldimir were great host and I can tell Ruby enjoyed her stay while she was there. They also sent out photos so I can see how Ruby was doing while she was staying with them. I would totally book them again for Ruby.”

“udith was wonderful with Linny! My biggest concern when using Rover is that Linny tends not to eat when he's in a new environment. Judith treated him like he was her own and made sure he was eating properly. Whenever he wasn't interested in food, she spent extra time playing with him to help build up his appetite. It was clear she genuinely cared about his well-being. I would definitely book with Judith again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and attentive sitter.”

“Bear had a wonderful time with Diane he played with all her stuffed animals he had other for babies to play with she sent me videos of him playing she is absolutely amazing we will definitely use her again I felt very comfortable leaving him with her! I highly recommend Diane I am very particular about who watches my lil Bear”

“Tucker has the best time when he stays with Jeanette and Charles. Long walks and lots of fun playing in their large fenced-in yard. They send plenty of fun pictures and videos!”

About: Raised with dogs since I was 2. Adopted a 12 yo shitzu, the owner couldn’t keep. When I got him was told he had trouble walking & seeing. He lived with me running up 3 flights of stairs daily until he was 18. Adopted a 6 yo bichon, poodle, Westie at 6, he lived until 16. My last doggie was Sherwin unfortunately he contracted a fungus in his lungs in November which has me here available to care for your doggie. I’m self employed work from home with a lot of flexibility. Can usually adapt to a doggie schedule. It’s a great neighborhood for walking. I always walked my dogs at least 3 times a day. I have a crate they can use or can make sure they’re secure in a study if that’s preferred when I’m not home.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Deerfield
Nicole was an absolute professional when we boarded our dog with her. Communication was amazing and responsive, it was always easy to check in to see how our dog was doing! It’s very obvious that Nicole loves dogs and she takes exceptional care of them. Our dog came home smelling nice and very tired. I cannot recommend Nicole enough

My dogs were so well taken care of by Gvido and family! They have a fantastic, fully fenced yard that my dogs loved to explore. They also took my dogs on daily walks in the nearby forest preserve. It made me so happy that my dogs were so happy while we were out of town!

Svetlana and her family took great care of my dog with medical needs. She followed my instructions by ensuring that medication/needs were given at specific times. She gave my dog plenty of attention throughout his stay and reassured me with important updates. This is the second time we've used Svetlana, and my dog ran right up to the house at drop-off--a sign of a trusted sitter! Highly recommended.

We had a great experience with Meghan! Freddy was happy, well cared for, and clearly received lots of attention while we were away. Communication was excellent throughout the stay, and we really appreciated the updates and photos. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands and would happily book again.

This was our first time leaving Lula with a Rover host rather than in a kennel and we were a bit nervous, but Abby immediately eased are worries with detailed updates and great photos. Abby even put Lula's suspender boots on for the walks. When it is very wet outside, Lula becomes filthy and the boots help keep her clean. Even though Lula tolerates putting the boots in, it's never an easy feat with an 80lb dog, so we were very pleased when Abby showed up a happy (dry/clean) Lula with boots on for her walks. We would 100% book with Abby again!

Soojin went above and beyond in caring for our dog. She and her young children loved having him with them, and spoiled him with attention, love, and accommodation. Many updates, pics and videos were sent our way during our time away, and there was always quick communication. Our dog Ollie loved playing in their fenced in backyard. We hope to book with them again someday!

Dan and his wife took exceptional care of our dog while we were away. They lovingly welcomed her into their home, took her on walks, played with her and gave her lots of love. They discovered she had developed a UTI, worked with her to keep her comfortable. We are very grateful for their care. And Lula their dog was sweet and friendly to our dog.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
