“We've left our dog with Marta several times for both daycare and boarding, and she's been absolutely wonderful every time. She sends pics often and it makes us feel at ease seeing our pup having a blast with the other dogs and having her own little vacation while we're away. Highly recommend!!”

“Megan was fantastic! Tons of pictures, immediate responses while messaging and was flexible on time changes. Already planning to book again with Megan! Thank you so much for taking such excellent care of Moon.”

“Monica took the best care of my dog and provided several video updates each day. Her communication is prompt and she followed all the instructions I gave her. Highly recommend!”

“Jae and her family were amazing to my sweet puppy. I could not have asked for a better family to take care of my dog; we felt absolutely blessed to have such a perfect home when we were gone. The entire family treated her like she was part of the family, and I always felt comforted on my vacation to receive pictures of my dog enjoying her days with her interim family. I will absolutely only use Jae now. And our dogs have become great friends too, so what an incredible bonus!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and rabbits for the past 15 years of my life. I absolutely adore them and looking for more opportunities to take care of them! I am available most of the time as I am on maternity leave and would have plenty of time to ensure your pet gets the care and exercise it needs. I will take your dog on long walks and ensure that they are comfortable at my home. My home is very safe and uncluttered. You pet would have plenty of space to roam around and play with toys. My neighbourhood is also very safe, quiet, and peaceful.

About: I've had cats and dogs since childhood, so I have a life-long experience with dogs of different sizes and breads, German shepherd, Husky, Chihuahua, at this moment I have a wonderful maltipoo kind of bread. I’m currently not employed and can take care of our small friends full time. Usually waking up at 7:30 and going to bad at 10:30 if the schedule for walking different I can fit it into mine and make adjustments. I live in apartments on 1-st floor, but don't have a fenced yard. Right by my building locates a good walking zone for dogs, the area is treated for ticks.
“Rhondarose is INCREDIBLE! Our dog’s second visit with Rhondarose and her family went perfect. She thoroughly communicated with us and sent great pictures while we were away with updates of how she was doing. Our dog had so much fun and was pooped upon picking her up- evidence of a great time!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Vernon Hills
We had such a wonderful experience and couldn’t be happier! Jean took amazing care of our dog and kept me updated several times a day with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She has two dogs of her own, and they were both so sweet and friendly with our dog — it was wonderful knowing he had good company and felt comfortable and happy there. Jean is caring, attentive, reliable, and clearly truly loves dogs. We came home to a very happy dog, and I would absolutely trust her with him again. We are so grateful to have found her and highly recommend her! ❤️

Petra was super lovely!! Mishka cried in the car when we were leaving her home, which tells me immediately that he loved being there. She took super good care of him, not even minding he is a very spoiled puppy, sent us pictures of him being adorable, and played with him and let him borrow all her dog toys.

We are so grateful for Balaji and his utmost care during our dog Chucky’s stay. He was very well taken care of and we were kept up to date everyday while we were away, which we appreciated a lot. Chucky has enjoyed his time here and I recommend Balaji as a dog sitter to everyone looking for an experienced sitter who truly cares about dogs.

Jisha was great. Because it was a new environment, Linny wouldn't eat his meals. Jisha literally hand fed Linny twice! She really cared about Linny like family! Really appreciate her pictures and video updates. I would definitely rebook with Jisha again! Thank you so much!

Logan was an amazing pet sitter. She took care of our three cats for three days and two nights. Logan is very patient and nurturing with pets. She gave us daily updates and sent adorable pictures. She’s very responsible and is amazing with animals. We’d highly recommend her as a pet sitter.

Sherry took great care of our pup - she kept him active, had toys ready for him, was detail oriented when it came to his care, and sent updates with photos. It was clear he was well loved while in her home! She was easy to work with, flexible, and quick to respond/communicate.

Elena watched our 11 month old Westie, Sunny, for a week while we were on vacation. We have a trusted daily pet setter who was unavailable, so we were a little nervous leaving our baby with someone new. Elena met with us twice before we left Sunny and even did a trial pet sitting. Sunny is a picky eater and came home eating normally, happy as can be, and relaxed! We got daily pictures of our sweet girl, and we know she was well cared for! We would absolutely trust Elena with Sunny again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
