“Leah has been outstanding with our dog and drop in visits. She is very reliable, has been great with communicating and wonderful with attention and care to our furbaby. Our pet was sick one day in the house and Leah cleaned up after her and stayed twice as long at the house to make sure she was okay and the house was set. Talk about going above and beyond!! Highly recommend!!!”
“Jo was fantastic! She was so attentive and engaged in taking care of our Pippa! I really appreciated all the updates and pictures. Made me feel so comfortable. We also did a meet and greet ahead of her caring for Pippa. I think it made all of us feel more comfortable.”

“Anna was just wonderful! She came for drop-in visits and looked after my dog and cat while we were gone for 8 days. I looked forward to seeing the photos of my sweet dog on his walks and I couldn’t believe my extremely shy cat made appearances for photos, too! We were relaxed on our vacation knowing our pets were well looked after. Thank you so very much, Anna!”

“Shawna did another incredible job checking in our cats while we were away. Our cats get so excited when she visits and we are at ease knowing they’re in great hands!”

“Ryan was fantastic! We were in a pinch and needed someone last minute and Ryan came through! Very reliable and gave great updates. And Daisy loved him! We will definitely use him again.”

“Kati helped out last minute when a family emergency came up. She's watched our pups several times and they love her. It's was a huge help to not have to worry about our pups when we had a lot of other stuff in our plate. Highly recommend Kati if you need someone reliable who your pups will love.”

About: I have experience caring for a multiple different pets. I have been taking care of others pets and my own since I was 14 years old. This includes dogs, cats, and ferrets. I currently own a Miniature Pinscher. This has given me firsthand experience working with a dog that can be energetic, stubborn, and pretty challenging majority of the time. Because of this, I am especially comfortable caring for pets with unique personalities, behavioral problems, anxiety, or high energy levels. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have helped friends, family, and neighbors by feeding, walking, playing with, and checking in on their pets while they were away. I understand that every animal has different needs and routines, and I always take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether it’s going on walks, providing companionship, administering basic care, or simply giving extra patience and attention, I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to provide reliable, loving care and give pet owners peace of mind while they’re away. I am currently a college student home for the summer taking online classes. I also work part-time as a server a few days a week, but my schedule is very flexible and I am willing to adjust it to accommodate your pet’s needs. This allows me to provide reliable care, including walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I understand the importance of maintaining a pet’s routine and will make sure they receive plenty of attention and care while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs they may have. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and ferrets, including pets with behavioral challenges or anxiety. If I’m caring for your pet in your home or during visits, I make sure to provide my full attention, exercise, playtime, and updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in caring and responsible hands.
“Maya was wonderful! Followed all instructions and really took time to care for our pup, would highly recommend her for dog sitting and will definitely have her come back to care for our dogs in the future!”

“Haven did drop in visits for us when we left for the hospital to have a baby. Penny was well cared for and happy as a clam when we returned, and Haven was super flexible with us as babies tend to come on their own timelines! Thanks so much Haven for your help!”

“Jason was absolutely fantastic! His check-in updates were detailed and reassuring, with photos and notes that showed the care he put in. He won over our usually shy cat, Puddles, which says a lot about his patience and kindness. Both Storm and Puddles were clearly well cared for, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in such great hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I have been taking care and watching my own dog Millie for nearly a decade. I frequently walk, watch, and house sit for family and friends during the holidays. From puppies to older dogs I have experienced care with giving dogs medicine including diabetic shots. I love dogs and am passionate about taking care of them and making sure they are the happiest they can be. I’m currently in between jobs and looking for work so I am available any time during the week or weekend. I am currently dog walking for one client every week day around noon so outside of that I am available whenever needed! I frequently walk my own dog at home as well as feed them breakfast and dinner. I have dealt with many different breeds and types of dogs and can adapt to any station.
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. In fact, in April of 2022 I adopted a dog of my own being only 19 years old. I bathe, groom, feed and pay for her all on my own! I adopted her to be my emotional support animal and spend a lot of my hard earned money on her (which is very much worth it!). I believe dogs are family members and very important family members too. I believe dogs bring people together and bring happiness to the world. Therefore, I always treat dogs with the upmost care and make sure they are treated as family members whether they’re mine or not. Dogs are gifts to this world and they should always be treated as such! I am free most days that I am not dog sitting other dogs! As of right now, I am doing this job full time and am flexible! We have a smaller home which is why I have just a small dog of my own. But I trained my dog myself at the age of 19 and everyone I know says she’s the most well behaved dog they know and they absolutely adore her because of it. I will treat your pets with the upmost love and care like they’re my own.
About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and genuinely love caring for them. As an elementary teacher, I’m patient, dependable, and attentive, which carries over into how I care for animals as well. I currently have my own 8-month-old Labradoodle, so I’m very familiar with puppy energy, routines, walks, feeding, and all the love and patience they need. I also help care for my family’s Golden Retriever, Suzie, and have watched dogs for family and friends over the years. I always want the pets in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine since I have my own 8-month-old Labradoodle. I’m used to planning my day around walks, feeding, playtime, and giving dogs the attention they need. As an elementary teacher, I have a consistent schedule during the school year, and now that it’s summer, I have even more flexibility and availability for pet care throughout the week. I care for every pet as if they were my own, because I know I would want the same level of love, attention, and care for my own dog. Their safety and comfort are always my top priority. In my home, I provide a clean, safe, and pet-friendly environment with plenty of supervision, attention, playtime, and potty breaks. I also make sure pets have access to fresh water and follow their usual feeding and walking routines to help them feel comfortable. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of both the pet’s routine and the owner’s space, and I always follow instructions closely to make sure their pet feels safe, cared for, and comfortable while maintaining the routine they’re used to.
“Jennifer was attentive and followed every instruction perfectly while caring for our cat, Herman. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for cat, and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and exceptional!”

About: I have taken care of service dogs for 2 years in college now as part of the service dog club. I have taken care of puppies and old dogs so you’re in good hands. I’m working remote as a software engineer for a start up so I’m fully available for any time and any schedule that works for you. I live in a great suburb for tons of space for any sized dog to walk and play and tons of space inside as well.

Valerie is fantastic! From the moment she came to meet Charley, we knew we’d found the right person. She’s kind, reliable, and great with Charley—who warmed up to her right away. We’re so happy we connected with her and will definitely be requesting her services again in the future.
Kayla was great! We left our cats, Pumpkin and Shadow, in her care for four days while we were on vacation. Kalya's thorough updates during our trip convinced us that she took great care of the cats. Her photos were complete and fun to watch, and her descriptions of her visits suggested that the cats were nurtured and entertained while she visited. I would hire her again!

- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
